12 Chapter 12: Mum

With the sun rising, Hitono grunts as she gets up.

She begins her morning routine by taking a refreshing shower and meticulously dons her well-pressed police uniform, proudly adorned with badges that symbolize her duty in upholding the law. With every step she takes, her polished boots echo with confidence.

she stared at herself in the mirror and couldn't help but say, "I look as sexy as ever!!"

Suddenly, her mother's voice echoes through the house. "Hitono, I heard your voice last night! Did you spend the whole night gaming?" Her mother's words travel up the stairs, making Hitono whisper to herself, "Ah, caught in the act. I thought I had these darn doors soundproofed."

A sense of guilt lingers as Hitono makes her way downstairs to face her mother. She finds her holding a pan with eggs sizzling inside, a sign that her mother had already started breakfast.

"What have I told you about playing games after work? You're a responsible adult, young lady. What if you end up falling asleep on the job?" Her mother's concern is evident in her stern tone.

"You know I won't do that, Mum," Hitono responded with a cheeky smile, scratching her head playfully.

"Well, I'm off to work," Hitono said, giving a wave as she adjusted her badge on her suit, ensuring it was in the proper position.

Just as she was about to make her way out, she heard her mother's voice once again, this time demanding, "Finish your breakfast!" Her mother's footsteps echoed.

"But, Mum, I'm running late!" Hitono whined, feeling the pressure of time. Her mother puffed her cheeks, her green eyes locking with Hitono's green ones. Jenna, a lovely fair English lady with curly blonde hair and a slightly plump figure, was Hitono's mother.

"Whose fault do you think that is?" Jenna asked, raising an eyebrow before making her way towards the dining table, placing the pan with the eggs on it.

"But, Mum, I'm an adult now, and I can make my own choices!" Hitono stated firmly, determined to assert her independence. Jenna couldn't help but let out a sigh, a mix of exasperation and affection.

"As your mother, I won't allow my daughter to go to work on an empty stomach!" Jenna declared, her tone stern as she stomped her feet on the ground, emphasizing her point.

Hitono couldn't help but feel a mixture of frustration and gratitude for her mother's care. She knew deep down that Jenna's actions came from a place of love and concern.
