1 The Accasha Family and it's heir

A long, long time ago, the world was filled with heroes called the Saint of Prophecy and God's Avatar, one of each per nation. At first, the Saints of Prophecy were ostracized and charged with treason by the ruler of their kingdom, for they brought news of disasters. Those that failed to recognize the harbingers of the prophecy met a disastrous end. The result of the catastrophe, which resulted from the foolishness of the fallen nations, was the recognition of the importance of the Saints of Prophecy.

Nations began to work with the Saints of Prophecy to search for the key to prevent or end the catastrophes, the God's Avatars, the people that were blessed with the power of a god suitable for the disaster. God's Avatars vary in their race, but they were found to be related to the nation's ruler's race, where the Saint of Prophecy was born.

As thousands of years pass, the number of heroes begins to dwindle. The Kingdom of Oswald ordered a certain family to be duty-bound to recording the history of the Saints of Prophecy and the God's Avatars and aiding them in their duty. That family is the Accasha family, a Marquess family.

In the early 2020s, when it was called the "Modern Era," where technology had prospered, nations started to forget about the heroes of old and disregarded the last two saints of prophecy, with the exception of the Accasha family. As if a reenactment of the first era, the modern era had ceased to exist and the world had reverted back to a medieval-like era, but unlike the past, the existence of technology had still remained. The exact details of the catastrophe had faded with time, aside from the prophecy given by the Avatarless Saint of Prophecy, Sybylla, which was entrusted to the Accasha family 43 years before the catastrophe.

"The world will one day forget about the ones that carry the news of catastrophe and the savior. At the 10,101th moon after the fall of the era, the world will be struck with the greatest catastrophe of all, and only the determined will prevail."

After the fall of the Modern Era, the heads of the Accasha family began their count for the foretold catastrophe and passed the duty to their heirs. In addition to the duty entrusted to them, they began their preparations to assist the heir that would help the heroes. The Accasha family began teaching their heirs magic—the ability to use mana within them.

As hundreds of years had passed, the Accasha family had fallen to the status of Viscount due to the anger of the royal family and a number of nobles towards the Accasha family for not aiding them in defending the Kingdom of Oswald from the war against its neighboring kingdom. Regardless of this, they remained loyal to the duty entrusted to them by the Saintless Saint and the old King of Oswald.

At the 9,932th Moon in the Accasha estate's master bedroom lies the current head of the Accasha family, Viscount Orion Accasha, on his deathbed with his son, Aeon Accasha.

"My son.. how is the progress of your studies..?" Viscount Orion had weakly asked.

Aeon, who was only 13 years of age at the time, replied with water creeping up at the edge of his eyes, "It has been.. going well, father.. I've already studied more than half of what's inside the archive.. and I'm nearly a 4th-circle mage.. can't you believe it..?" Aeon weakly smiled.

"Is that so..? Well, aren't you quite the genius..?" Viscount Orion laughed, albeit softly. Viscount Orion put his hands on Aeon's shoulder and said, "Aeon.. my dear boy.. you must already know of the duty of the Accasha family by now.. We are bound by a duty.. which I oh so regret not being the one to end it so that you won't be bound by it.."

Aeon said in hopes of reassuring his father, "It's alright, father.. please don't be burdened by it! It will be my honor to do it!" Despite Aeon's effort, Viscount Orion still felt sorry for his son, but it did reduce his worries by a bit.

"My boy.. it's the 9,932th moon this month.. it will only be a matter of years till the foretold time to arrive.. you only have 13 years left to prepare.. do not mourn for me too much.. instead, strengthen your resolve to finish your studies of the records and get stronger before you turn 18.. only that will ease my mind.." Aeon could only nod and held his father's hand tightly to assure him. "Good.. all I hope for is that y-you'll survive the catastrophe.. may Kronia's blessing be with you and give you enough time to prepare.." with a bit of a struggle to finish, Viscount Orion's last few words were passed.

As Aeon felt his father's grip slowly fade, he began to tear up as he embraced his father tightly. All that could be heard from Viscount Orion's room were Aeon's cries for his father, along with the clamor of weeping from the vassals and servants of House Accasha after hearing the cries of their young lord.

Two nights have passed since the passing of Viscount Orion; it is now the funeral. Those that were close and loyal to the Viscount had attended his funeral; among those that attended, there were a few talks about the heir of the Accasha family and about the inheritance he would receive, but Aeon paid no thought to them and just focused on the ceremony.

As the priest finished delivering a eulogy, he let Viscount Orion's only direct family, Aeon, come up and see his father one last time before he was buried underground.

Aeon walked slowly towards his father's coffin while reminiscing about the memories that they had made. After reaching his father's coffin, the emotion he tried so hard to keep to himself burst out, and he began to tear up while trying not to make too much noise. Before saying his last good-byes, Aeon silently made an oath of mana2 before his father's face: "Father.. I swear.. I swear upon my mana that I'll fulfill my duty as an Accasha and survive the catastrophe.. and once I do.. I'll visit your grave and tell you about it.. So please watch me, father.. for I will do my best.."

Aeon went back to his seat after taking the oath and wiped his tears. The ceremony continued on after Viscount Orion's in-laws, the heads of the vassals, and those who were close to him made their last farewells; the time to lower Viscount Orion's coffin to the hole had finally come.

After lowering the coffin, the priest stepped up and announced, "It is now time for the tossing of flowers; please proceed in the proper order1." The tossing of flowers was done smoothly, and the time to burry Viscount Orion has arrived. While covering up the hole with the dug-up dirt, cries and farewells were heard from those who attended. After the ceremony, people sent their condolences to Aeon and then left.

A few days after the funeral, House Accasha locked their doors from the outside with the excuse of grieving, but in reality, it was done in order for Aeon to focus on his studies and progress in his mana circles. Only a few vassals had remained in contact with House Accasha to update Aeon on the news regarding the world and the search for the Saint of Prophecy.

Five years later, House Accasha finally opens its doors once again, just a few days after Aeon's 18th birthday, announcing news about Aeon reaching the 5th Circle, a stage where most only reach around 40 years of age. News of this had spread like wildfire among the Kingdom of Oswald as Aeon, who is single and of marriageable  age, reached the 5th Circle at a young age, a genius among geniuses. Many noble houses sent letters of engagement proposals, but none of them received a reply.

At the office of the head of House Accasha's estate, Aeon Accasha is in the middle of a meeting with two of his trusted vassals.

"My lord, the royal family has sent a letter regarding the succession of your title as the Viscount of Accasha." Alex Reinhardt, the son of Baron Reinhardt, had said.

"My liege, it is imperative that you tend to this matter as soon as possible. If we delay this any further, it may have implications for your succession." Raymond Montera, son of Viscount Montera, asserted.

With furrowed brows, Aeon sighed, "I understand your concerns. Raymond, send a letter to the Royal Family that I will be attending the ceremony." he said in reply to his vassals while muttering, "I've just finished my studies and celebrated my 18th birthday, and now I've got to tend to a problem when I'm supposed to depart soon.."

"Before you go, what of the task that I had assigned you with? The one regarding the search for a person with the Eyes of the Saint." Aeon inquired from Alex Reinhardt.

"My people have caught wind of a person fitting the descriptions you have asked of my liege—a woman in the capital with eyes like the night sky that's filled with stars like the galaxy that the people of old spoke of. Might I suggest that you look for her once you have arrived in the capital for your succession?" Alex Reinhardt said in response to Aeon's inquiry.

"I understand, I'll do what you suggested Alex. In the meantime, both of you should prepare to depart with me to the capital after Raymond sends the letter. Both of you are now dismissed." Aeon waved his hand towards his subordinate.

After the two left, Aeon picked up the picture frame that contained his parent's photo. "Father.. Mother.. I'm now 18.. it's almost time for me to depart to fulfill my duty as an Accasha.. I pray that both of you are doing well and watching me from the skies above."

Aeon placed the frame back on his desk. "Now then, time to prepare for the journey. I sincerely hope that Alex's information is right on the mark of the Saint I've been tasked to look for. May the goddess of time, Kronia, bless me with luck so that I will not waste my time on this search."

Three days have passed, and it is now time for the departure of Aeon with his two vassals to the Royal Capital, Celestia City, the city blessed by the celestials.

7 years until the foretold catastrophe by the Avatarless Saint, Saintess Sybylla
