5 Ch.5 - Impending Storm

[Relax, sisters, I don't intend to harm you.] Alex said scratching his head with the talon on one of his legs.

They breathed sighs of relief.

[Greetings, 2nd brother Zane, I'm 1st sister Anne, forgive our skittishness.] The oldest amongst them greeted.

Alex smiled [It's fine, 1st sister. I did just finish disciplining brother, I can understand you 3 are slightly scared.]

They nodded.

Another wyvern stepped forward [I am 2nd sister, Alice. If brother wants to hang out, I have a lot of free time.]

Alex nodded [I see, it's quite interesting both you and 1st sister have human names. Though mine is human too…]

[Mother likes human names because they have certain meanings behind them.] 3rd sister spoke up.

Alex nodded.

[Alice, meaning noble and kind. Anne, meaning favored grace. What's 3rd sister's name?]

The wyverns were stunned, was Alex really just a 10-year-old orphan dragon? He already knew stuff that took their royal mother years to find out about.

[Amelia, meaning industrious and striving.] 3rd sister responded.

Alex nodded.

[Do you know what yours means?] The wyvern queen asked curiously.

Alex scratched his head embarrassed [God's precious gift?]

[Sort of ironic, don't you think?] Alex asked meaningfully to see if she knew anything and she nodded.

[Still, to me, you're the biggest gift I could ever receive.] She responded happily.

Alex turned into a one-on-one channel with her.

[So, you noticed?] He calmly asked.

[Yeah, you have a mark of rebirth, many people would be able to notice it. I've already hidden it though, so no one should be able to notice unless their power surpasses mine.]

[How powerful are you?] Alex asked.

[I'm at the pinnacle 1st sky realm approaching the 2nd sky realm.]

[Earth realm?] Alex asked.

[Your reborn yet do not know the realms of spiritualists?] She inquired confused.

[Whatever spiritualism is, my world didn't have it. All I know is an external being facilitated my dying wish and now here I am…] Alex explained. Since she knew yet didn't do anything, it meant she didn't have any ill intent.

Alina knew this too which was why she didn't object.

[Dying wish? How old are you?]

[If we count the years I've been a dragon, 36 years, as for my dying wish… it was to live life as a dragon. Where I come from dragons, wyverns, etc, any sort of mythical or magical being is nothing but legend.]

She nodded surprised.

[Well… If I had to describe what a spiritualist is, they absorb energy to become stronger, extend their lifespans, and use that energy to perform various tasks. For example, your dragon fire and mental communication are only possible because of the spiritual energy in your body, your body naturally absorbs a certain amount of energy to maintain these innate skills.] She explained.

Alex nodded in understanding.

[Alright, so it's like the concept of cultivation where I come from.]

[Cultivation?]

[Absorbing the energy of heaven and earth to cultivate oneself strengthening themselves, prolonging their lifespan, etc.] Alex explained.

She was stunned, in that instant she was enlightened and broke the bottleneck from the 1st sky realm to the 2nd. It didn't stop there though, as she closed her eyes her aura continued rising. Energy from the heavens and earth entered her body unbeknownst to anyone except her. Very quickly she rose to the 7th sky realm!

After 15 minutes she settled in the 1st heaven realm.

The wyvern king was shocked feeling this drastic increase in her strength from the 3rd floor of the palace.

'She broke through to the heavenly realms in 1 go? What happened?'

The queen's dragon aura unconsciously exploded outward causing Alex and her children to feel suffocated as they struggled to stay off the ground.

Unfortunately, she was too strong, the gap between her and Alex was too large and he found himself on the ground shivering in fear.

'W-W-What did I do?!' Alex thought thinking she was mad.

When the queen finished her breakthrough and saw Alex on the ground shivering she worriedly picked him up with her wing.

[Are you ok? I'm so sorry, your words gave me enlightenment… I had been thinking of spiritualism the wrong way this entire time. I didn't expect to break through directly into the 1st heavenly realm…]

Alex breathed a sigh of relief.

[I… I thought I angered you.] Alex said slowly recovering from his fear from earlier. That pressure was simply too strong, it felt like he would either die from the weight of several hundred mountains or from a lack of oxygen. It felt like the world was ending for him!

[No, no, no, you didn't anger me, I was just growing stronger.] She said tenderly. This scene caused Zeldris to grit his teeth in jealousy.

Alex simply shook his head and flew off her wing seeing this from the corner of his eye [You should give Zeldris some attention mother, I'm fine now. My discipline session earlier only solved a part of the problem.]

Zeldris was stunned, he couldn't help but look at Alex with complex emotions. Although Alex beat him earlier, he was now helping him.

If before he merely submitted out of fear, now he understood that Zane was a far better Individual than he was…

[Thank you… Brother.] Zeldris ultimately thanked sincerely.

Alex, no, Zane just smiled.

[Your welcome brother, how about you 2 go for a flight. The questions I have for mother can either wait or be redirected to our sisters. So please, go before I change my mind. My throat's getting a bit itchy.]

The queen chuckled while Zeldris took a step back unconsciously. The beating session remained clear in his mind.

The queen and Zeldris left while Zane and his new sisters stayed behind.

Alice walked up [What questions does brother have?] She asked kindly.

[I want to learn how to become a spiritualist… It was embarrassing earlier when mother was able to make me shiver on the ground like that.]

Alice chuckled [Us sisters and even Zeldris have all been there at one point, it's not embarrassing to be in that state. It's only when you understand you are weak and refuse to try to get strong that it becomes embarrassing and pathetic.]

Zane nodded.

Over the next few days, Alice and Anne would teach Zane how to cultivate and the basics of cultivation. Meanwhile, Zeldris and his mother spent time together. As for Amelia, true to her name's meaning, she was either absorbing worldly energy or sparring with other wyverns in this time. She never ceased to train.

After procuring some herbs, Zane was able to begin opening his meridians.

Zeldris and the queen looked from a distance.

The queen was worried 'He's someone who defies the heavens, the heavens won't make it easy for him to grow stronger… Just opening one of his meridians will send down a lightning tribulation. To open all 32… That's at least 96 lightning bolts.'

She got ready to act in case Zane was in danger.
