16 Ch.16 - Divinity
"Because… You are intelligent. Take Zeldris for example, he was a scheming piece of shit admittedly."
"However when you came along you set him back on the right path in a matter of hours. Now he's much more open to us, and quite frankly working to turn into a better person. Your also rather charming, and you aren't a pushover either. You struggled against the heavens to gain the potential to surpass many people at the same level. Now, here you are, almost invincible in the mortal order of spiritualism when you've barely started your ascension."
Zane nodded calmly. Amelia was the kind of person who respected strength, it wasn't surprising that his hard work and intelligence made him stick out to her.
"So… Going back to my previous question…" She brought up her previous question.
Zane sighed shaking his head "Amelia, I like you as you are. Assuming I didn't see you and the other girls as my sisters I would probably fall in love with you too. Hell even now I like all of you, maybe a bit more than I should, but that's fine."
All 3 of them pouted, obviously, he refused to break that barrier with them because of their status as siblings.
Seeing this Zane chuckled "I get all 3 of you are in your prime and at the age where wyverns start looking for a mate… But me? There are probably people far better than me out there, there's no need to set your sights on me."
"This is another reason why we like you…" Alice pouted.
"You try your best to be modest, but at the same time aren't a pushover." She muttered with flushed cheeks seeing his eyes land on her. She had crimson eyes and neat blonde hair tied into a large ponytail with a black and red ribbon.
Zane nodded.
"Let's play have I ever." Zane suddenly said.
"Have I ever?" Anne asked curiously.
"It's simple, we ask each other has the other person ever done something and they reply with yes or no. Lying is against the rules."
Alice smiled nodding "Let's play that."
No one objected.
"I'll go first." Zane said.
The girls nodded.
They would end up playing for an entire hour before going to sleep.
As they got to lay down, Elaine returned.
They all snuggled up to her before falling asleep.
Later that night, Amelia woke up staring at Zane's figure on the other side of their mother.
He stayed on the opposite side of them using their mother as a barrier.
She smiled seeing he was cultivating silently.
She got up slowly and approached behind him.
She sat down next to him causing him to open his eyes.
[Cant sleep?] He asked mentally.
She nodded.
[3 hours is enough sleep, with my foundation I only need a few hours a week.]
Zane simply closed his eyes and returned to cultivating. She could feel his aura being restrained by an external force, this didn't surprise her. She knew he was full of mysteries.
The very fact he, a saint dragon prince who hadn't even begun cultivating, was chased by dragon hunters with no support from the saint dragon clan led her to a few theories.
Her first theory is he was an illegitimate descendant and his father or mother, perhaps both, wanted to keep him a secret or refused to acknowledge him and thus exiled him.
The 2nd was he left the saint dragon clan of his own will for some reason.
The 3rd was he was exiled for some other reason.
The 4th was the saint dragon clan was gone and he and aurora are one of the few if not the only survivors.
She hoped it wasn't the 1st reason or the 3rd… That would be sad.
Zane continued refining his blood, his aura rose but it didn't spread beyond an immediate half-meter radius of him.
After a few hours, his blood was half blue half red. He took a moment to condense his blood to keep it stable.
Once that was done, he continued.
By the time the other girls woke up he was approaching 3/4th completion of the blue stage.
When Elaine woke up she noticed his power had drastically increased.
'32 meridians really is something else'
'It's odd though… The heavens shouldn't tolerate his existence, yet his tribulations didn't increase in difficulty at all.'
She shook her head.
Suddenly Aurora came flying in, and ran to Zane bawling her eyes out. She hugged him crying before hiding behind his figure, trembling.
3 wyverns were following behind her, but they suddenly froze seeing the room full of wyverns in human form.
Zane's eyes snapped open as suffocating killing intent suddenly filled the room. These were heaven shock wyverns. It was obvious at a glance what was happening. They wanted to kidnap Aurora for leverage against him and Anne, however thanks to the saint dragon emperor Vladi's reverse scale, she was able to remain unscathed and make her way here.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" Elaine roared.
"YOUR ELDER FAILED THE CHALLENGE SO NOW YOU RESORT TO KIDNAPPING A CHILD?!"
Instantly the wyvern king, appeared.
Sensing Zane's thick killing intent he knew something was wrong and arrived as quickly as he could.
Such dense killing intent shocked the wyvern king though.
In fact, it was teetering on the edge of slaughter intent, constantly cycling between the 2.
Killing intent is formed when one has the intent to kill someone. The more people they've killed the higher the quality of the killing intent but the density and amount stays the same, only ones intensity of the intent to kill can change that.
Only when one has the intent to slaughter thousands will slaughter intent of the lowest level be formed.
It's obvious Zane was angry to an extreme. His reverse scale is his family… Especially Aurora since she was technically Alexia who he had known for years.
He was seriously considering wiping out an entire royal lineage of the heaven shock wyverns.
"Since you're here, forget about leaving." The hell shock wyvern king spoke with ghastly killing intent and instantly his domain spread out. Even if he wanted to settle this diplomatically, he knew that Zane wouldn't tolerate these 4 existing anymore. It wasn't worth creating a crack in the relationship between himself and Zane when the heaven shock clan was obviously in the wrong.
His domain was formed from 4 barriers.
Instantly the entire palace was sealed off, these 4 heaven shock wyverns will not be able to leave.
Although they were all 8th sky realms it was simply impossible for them to break even the lowest level of domain.
*BOOM*
Hundreds of dark crimson lightning bolts filled the hall instantly turning 3 wyverns to ash and leaving the 4th critically injured.
"Don't kill him, Zane… We need to know exactly what's going on." The king said seeing Zane walking over to the remaining wyvern with clenched fists and blazing killing intent.
Zane stopped clenching his fists so tight they turned white before taking a few deep breaths. His killing intent faded slowly.
"Find out who ordered these 4…" Zane said with a voice trembling in anger.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure there are repercussions."
With that Zane took Aurora who still had misty eyes into his arms.
[Are you alright?] he asked in concern.
She nodded before rubbing her head against his cheek.
Her cold smooth scales sent shivers down his spine.
He smiled seeing she was genuinely alright.
Zane turned to Elaine "How did they sneak in?" He asked.
"Your father can't always have his domain or spiritual sense active. Although he does keep his spiritual sense active, it's only partially. When he's cultivating he cant pay full attention to it so some things can go missing, especially when people specifically hide themselves. " Elaine explained apologetically.
"He still should have detected Aurora's frantic running…"
"While that is true, she is normally always running around when you're gone. Playing with other wyverns, etc." The king chimed in, defending himself a bit.
"So it's hard to differentiate it when I'm not paying full attention to it."
Zane sighed, he didn't bother to argue with the king. He didn't entirely blame the king, mistakes happen. He was just agitated that Aurora almost got kidnapped.
If that happened…
Black lightning flickered in his eyes.
Unknown to him, if he was to look in the status window that he had never checked, something has changed.
[Divinity Awakening: 0.001%]
The moment this happened a unique energy undetectable to those below a certain realm spread through the universe.
Many eternal beings opened their eyes with fear in their gazes feeling this energy.
'So he has returned…'
However, in a pavilion in an unknown part of space, a woman in assassins clothing smiled.
"His return is nigh." She said with excitement.
"RISE! SHADOW LEGION! THE LORD'S RETURN IS NIGH! THE 9TH REBIRTH IS ALMOST COMPLETE!" She shouted, her voice echoing across several light years enhanced by origin energy.
All worlds that were previously dormant within this range trembled as light became nonexistent as a dark miasma spread with trillions of shadows suddenly rose from the ground like undead while
Meanwhile, a similar scene took place in another location, except this woman was in paladins armor and the beings that rose from the ground were made from light. The worlds where these beings rose were covered in blinding light as these beings awoke.
In another unknown part of the universe: "RISE! FIRE LEGION!"
Trillions of golems, humanoid figures, dragons, wyverns, etc, made purely from fire rose from the ground as volcanoes across these worlds exploded.
"RISE! EARTH LEGION!" Beings made from earth rose from the ground in this case causing an earthquake.
"RISE! WIND LEGION!" Nearly invisible beings made from slightly colored air rose from the ground, their resurgence causing hurricanes, tornados, storms, etc.
"RISE! WATER LEGION!" Beings rose from the depths of the oceans causing whirlpools, etc.
Countless elemental beings in slumber rose from the ground heeding the command of their generals.
Many beings in the universe trembled feeling the resurgence of this army.
"The nihility army…" A multi-billion-year-old existence mumbled in dread while his figure trembled in fear.
Anyone who knew of the nihility army, knew it was the absolute most taboo existence.
Even the lowest level soldiers in its ranks are 1st immortal realm elementals… And there were trillions in each legion!
Although they have never acted against any force that's left them alone, they still invoked dread and fear in all existences.
