Chapter 9: What's the Deal with Your Family?

Ace couldn't hear Garp's current thoughts. They thought this scene was happening only on the Moby Dick, unaware that they were now broadcasting worldwide.

You could say it was like watching a live stream on a ship, where the people in the live stream were watching you in the live stream.

Upon hearing the third question, the members of the Whitebeard Pirates turned their gaze towards Ace. Among those present, besides Ace, nobody knew the answer. It was up to him to respond.

Ace didn't delay, knowing they had only one minute and time was limited.

Regardless of whether he answered or not, the mysterious man in the broadcast would eventually reveal it. And as he mentioned earlier, there would be a reward for a correct answer.

Though they didn't know what the reward would be, they could still anticipate it.

"The answer is Garp, the old man," Ace replied.

Whitebeard looked at Ace with surprise. He had known that Ace was Roger's son, but he had no idea that Garp was the one who raised him.

"You're talking about Garp, the Vice-Admiral and Navy hero, right?" Marco asked hesitantly.

If that was the case, then this situation became quite amusing.

The Navy, who had been hunting down the orphaned son of the Pirate King, had actually been hiding him, and he was raised by none other than Garp.

Especially considering that everyone knew one thing for certain—Garp had been the fiercest pursuer of Roger during his time.

And now, after Roger's death, he was taking care of Roger's son as well.

The depth of their connection... Could it be that they had been putting on a performance in front of everyone all those years?

The expressions of the Whitebeard Pirates' members were filled with a strange mix of emotions. After all, they were well acquainted with both Garp and Roger.

Many members of the crew had seen Roger and even clashed with his pirate crew, so it was only natural for them to have come into contact with Garp as well.

This revelation was truly mind-blowing.

"Hmm," Ace nodded.

Upon hearing Ace's affirmative response, everyone was at a loss for words for a moment. It was just too comical.

What made it even more amusing was the fact that Garp was a high-ranking Navy officer. How did he end up raising Ace as a pirate?

Garp, are you still claiming you're not a traitor?

"Garp!!!" The roar of Fleet Admiral Sengoku echoed through the Marine Headquarters' main square.

Sengoku glared at Garp, his anger reaching its peak. He never could have imagined that the traitor was right by his side.

He had spent two years searching for the orphaned son of the Pirate King, only for his good buddy Garp to have hidden him away. Garp, you truly are a loyal friend!

Garp scratched his head, his head throbbing with pain. Thanks to Ace, the old man had been exposed. Even if Ace hadn't spoken up, the mysterious man would have eventually revealed the truth.

But this blame had to be put on Ace's shoulders. There was no other way around it. Grandchildren were meant for teaching lessons.

"Um... Sengoku, let me explain later. Right now..." Garp glanced around.

Sengoku did the same, noticing the profound impact this bombshell had on the surrounding Marines.

Their Navy hero, Garp, had taken in the son of the Pirate King. It was undoubtedly the biggest scandal the Navy had seen in recent years!

Of course, they didn't believe Vice-Admiral Garp could be a traitor to the Navy. To them, Garp was a symbol of strength, humility, and friendliness—a true idol within the ranks of the Navy.

They were all eager to know why Vice-Admiral Garp would do such a thing.

Sengoku also realized the gravity of the situation. If Garp, the Navy hero, was truly labeled as a traitor, it would be devastating for the Navy's reputation. It would not only disappoint the civilians but also undermine the confidence within the Navy itself.

To prevent any outrageous or shocking statements from escaping Garp's unreliable mouth, Sengoku reluctantly agreed to discuss the matter privately as requested by Garp.

"You'll have the chance to explain yourself. Come to my office later," Sengoku said, suppressing his anger.

Now not only Garp had a headache, but Fleet Admiral Sengoku had an even bigger headache. He thought he already knew how unreliable Garp could be, but this guy once again exceeded his expectations.

The last time was no different. When he heard about a pirate named Monkey D. Luffy who fought a Vice-Admiral in the East Blue, Sengoku initially thought it was someone with the same last name as Garp.

But when Garp was brought in, this guy actually admitted that Luffy was his grandson.

Well, well, the previous grandson, Luffy, became a pirate without saying a word and caused quite a commotion in the East Blue.

And now, another one popped up, Ace, the son of the Pirate King Roger.

Thinking about Luffy's father, who wasn't exactly a saint, Sengoku was already speechless when it came to Garp.

Could this guy really be a traitor?

How did your family end up producing such monsters? What kind of grandfather and father are you?

But now was not the time to dwell on these matters. The impact on the surrounding Marines was already significant enough. Revealing these additional details would make them explode on the spot.
