The journey was a silent one and I was glad though I didn't know where we're going, I was busy having all my thoughts to myself.

The man right next to me didn't even bother asking me questions or prying more in my life and I couldn't be more thankful.

I pushed strands of my chestnut hair behind my ear and turned to look at this man, He seemed so serious that I was afraid to say anything.

He has sharp silver gray round eyes that felt like they could burn holes in my soul every time he looked at me, they're surrounded by thick lashes and dark brows.

His lush pink lips set in a thin line, his face oval with high cheekbones and a button baby nose. I instantly felt drawn to this beauty from the second our had eyes met.

I remembered those gunmetal eyes, the way they pulled me in but then sent a shiver of fear down my spine.

He was wearing a black fitting shirt, it was folded to his elbows, his strong fingers of his right hand wrapped around the steering wheel while his other hand was holding a water bottle.

He didn't bother looking at me even once, his expression almost freezing everything in the car.

I could feel it that he was aware of the eyes on him and some how this made me realize that I was staring in a creepy way.

Though it was hard to look away am sure that's what I should be doing, slowly I lowered my eyes to my lap.

My mother's photograph took my attention and a small smile formed on my lips before it was took over by a frown, I turned to look outside the car window.

Sorrow filled my heart and my eyes were glossy as we passed by the rusty metal sign that welcomes you to the small village ahead, finally I was away from the past ready to start a new life.

I didn't know how this would go or how it would work but it was here now and this new life had blood smeared all over it, the blood of my step sister.

I lifted my hand to wipe away my tears, am going to be happy for Lana and my mom. I will work hard and try to get more stronger than I was before so that when I meet Arthur again I won't be at his mercy.

With the comforting silence in the car and my tired body I don't know how my head leaned against the glass window or how I fell asleep.

It was hard to sleep these days because of fear, the night mares and everything but this time round though everything didn't seem comfortable I slept peacefully.

My eyes slowly opened to the darkness inside the car and outside, my eyes turned to look a head and the street lights of this city got my eyes wide. I wanted to ask where we're or what this city was called but before I could do that I realized the car wasn't moving anymore.

It was parked by the pavement, I frowned in confusion then turned to look at the man sitting in the driver's seat. His face was stone hard cold, knuckles tightly around the steering wheel.

"If you're fully awake, Get out " Not bothering to look at me he ordered and I shuddered internally. I couldn't tell if it was because of his deep voice or simply because I had forgotten that we didn't know each other.

He just helped me out and it was my turn to thank him, I sighed softly and a small smile graced my lips.

"Thank you " I whispered softly but still he didn't react, his eyes kept on the front like I wasn't in his car trying to talk to him.

My smile slowly dropped as I realized what he was waiting for, so I turned to the car door and opened it. My gaze moved back to him and he was like a stone statue. I got off his car and closed the door behind me.

Though I still wanted to say thank you he didn't look like he was interested.

He started the car and drove off immediately, I jumped away because I was so close. My eyes pinned on that beautiful car until it disappeared from my view.

I looked around and noticed the busy street and the busy road in front of me, the sky scrapers standing in front of me where so tall that I couldn't help but admire their beauty under the skies.

A few eyes darted to me as people passed by and I noticed but I knew why. I was wearing a dirty wedding gown that sparked the curiosity of many but it's not like I cared.

Standing like this in the middle of now where, I didn't know what to do next or where to go but in my heart there was peace. A freedom that I had always yearned for.

It was here in this new place, I felt my legs start to hurt and walked towards the pavement then sat down. I looked up watching everything, my head empty at the moment.

Soon the streets started to get empty and I was all alone, my emerald eyes watched everything with interest. The ice cream and popcorn venders across the street, the restaurants around and the hotels the way they operated and then the noisy sound of the city.

All this looked new to me, all my life I was in that small village hidden away in the attic. The sense of freedom hit me hard and I chuckled softly, I heard a loud ramble and my eyes lifted up to the skies which are now dark.

I didn't even move and watched as many galloped away before it started to fall heavily, my chuckling turned in to laughter. Deep and loud laughter, I felt so happy then sad.

I started to sob quietly, my gaze drifting to the photo frame in my hands.

My mom's smiling face made it worse and I just brought it back to my chest, it was getting more and more colder and I was starting to shiver but I just couldn't stop crying at all.

I couldn't even explain to anyone why I was crying this badly but I just couldn't stop, it was all there. The stab in my heart was getting more painful and my cries also turned in to hiccups.

I wanted to stop, I do but it isn't easy. As I was still crying a pair of well polished black shoes appeared before me. I stared at them through my blurred view, it was now that I noticed I wasn't getting wet any more.

I can't tell how I stopped crying but I did as my eyes watched the black umbrella above my head for a few minutes before drifting to the hand that was holding it.

My eyes followed the long black sleeve to a hard manly chest then to the gun metal eyes that were pinned on me watching me like a hawk.

To say I was shocked was an under statement, I immediately got to my feet accidentally knocking the umbrella from his hand that it fell to the floor besides our feet.

Though he was taller than me, we were eye to eye with each other. My lips parted and my chest moved up and down as my breathing accelerated.

Why did he come back?
