1 The Beginning

The sky was gloomy, gray clouds billowing in the sky foretelling of rain and thunder. Alice looked up covering her eyes slightly as she stepped out of her car into the crisp wind. Her dress flapped in the wind causing her to use one hand to hold it down. Reaching into the car she pulled out several bags of groceries for tonight's dinner. Closing and locking her car she walked to the entrance of her house and unlocked it using the small pin pad on the automatic lock. Hearing her dog bark madly at the sound of the lock opening she chuckles before opening the door and setting down the groceries before letting her dog, Lily, out to play in the yard. Not worried about Lily running away Alice closes the door and takes off her shoes and coat putting them away before taking the groceries into the kitchen.

Calling to the nearby Alexa to turn on some spooky season music, she began to hum along to the songs putting the groceries away leaving some out to begin preparing for dinner. Lighting a nearby scented candle the scent wafts through the house drifting and causing a festive feeling to appear. Her house was slightly bigger than most with two floors and a basement. The top floor primarily is the living space, with the bedrooms, craft room, and bathrooms. The first floor was an open space with a dining room, kitchen, office, and living room. There was also a single bathroom. Singing to a favorite song that was playing Alice danced around the kitchen preparing a mixing bowl, stirring spoon, and the ingredients for her dinner. She also pulled out the cookbook from which she was making dinner.

It was a special cookbook, to Alica at least. She had participated in Dungeons & Dragons for many years and this was a cookbook specifically themed towards that. Tonight she planned to make a hand pie. Finally having all the ingrediants and tools needed Alice began to slowly prepare dinner.

She slowly placed the bacon in the skillet before flipping it a few times until it is nice a crispy. Taking the bacon and putting it aside to cool Alice drained the rendered fat into a nearby small bowl. Chopping a potato, some thyme, a few leeks, and some garlic before spooning a few teaspoons back into the skillet previously used to fry the bacon.

Scraping the potatoes into the the skillet she stirred then around until they became soft adding the leeks, and thyme allowing them to soften slightly before adding the garlic. Once the steam smelled fragrant Alice poured the mixture into a bowl.

Putting some ground beef into the skillet Alice cooked it until it was slightly brown adding Some chicken broth until the mixture was pasty and slightly thick. Pouring this mixture into the bowl with the potatoes Alice mixed them together until they were fully combined. Placing this mixture into some ready made pastry and cooking it in the oven.

Finally pulling the small hand pies out and putting them on a plate and going to sit by a fire outside on the patio. Casually eating them she suddenly had an idea. What if... she could start a resturant. A gaming resturant! Grabbing a notebook Alice began to quickly write down ideas.

Smiling Alice held the notebook close before closing her eyes and imagining the future. She finished her dinner and putting away her plate before going to bed having a grand dream about the future Tavern she would open.
