Chapter 3 Tiana's POV

Five weeks passed and I haven't heard from Jayson. In a way, I secretly wished he would call. Honestly I was eager to hear from him but I didn't want him to see me as cheap and desperate.

My phone buzzed, it was a text message from my mom. I didn't want to reply so I threw the phone back on the bed.

The phone rang only a few minutes later after the text, so I assumed it was going to be my mom asking me why I wasn't responding. Unfortunately, I didn't bother to look at the caller ID before picking up the call "Mum I was just about to respond to you."

"Tiana" A deep male voice sounded on the other end. I pulled the phone away from my ear to see the number not recognizing it, but I could swear I would know that voice from anywhere.

"Hi," yes this is Tiana, but can I ask who's calling? I asked, trying to contain my excitement and also trying to sound like I don't know who it was.

"Please tell me you haven't forgotten about me already?". He teased.

"Jayson?" I asked, trying to sound surprised.

"Yes, it is me."

I blushed, "Honestly, I didn't know you were the one calling." I lied.

He sighed in disbelief."I see, it may have been five weeks since we last spoke, but I haven't forgotten your voice."

On hearing that confession and how his voice boomed, sounded deep and masculine with a hint of desire and longing,it gave me butterflies and made my heart feel thing it shouldn't have been feeling.

"Hey listen, what are your plans for tommorow?"

I paused for a few seconds before I responded, trying so hard not to sound excited and eager.

"Mmm..."Nothing. I don't think I have anything planned.

"Great!" he exclaimed. I'll like for you to meet me up at the restaurant where we met the last time.

"Jayson, I don't know what your intentions are you I'm not sure if we want to go so fast. I hope you understand."

"Tiana". he whispered. " I understand."

The next day I did a quick mental note on how to act so as not to sound or look desperate, while walking towards the restaurant.

I took a deep breath and walked into the building.

Upon seeing me, Jayson stood up, reaching out with an arm and gave me a friendly hug."You look so beautiful." he said.

I could feel the warmth of his body pressed against mine. For a split second, I leaned into him, finding comfort in the embrace.

"The embrace felt so natural! so right, setting all my feminine places on fire. DAMN. I can't wait to see how good he is in bed." But I silenced the voice in my head and straightened my body. "Thanks it just something I sorted out last minute." I lied.

"Anyways thanks for meeting me tonight. I apologise if it was akward asking you out on a date so quickly." He said.

I smiled at him."That's alright."

A somewhat mystified look crossed his face, but he smiled back."Please have a seat" he said as he whisked out a chair for me.

"Thanks my gaze lifted around the room, admiring the candle lit environment, wall to wall decorations and the rich theme of various Nigerian culture.

it wasn't as I had remembered it from the last time I came here. And there was no one there except us. "Why is this place so empty ?"

"Oh, I know the owner of this place so I asked him to give me the whole restaurant so that we can have the whole place to ourselves for at least two or more hours."

The bartender with a finely trimmed haircut, wearing a crisp blue shirt came and took our orders before disappearing to the back of the counter.

"So tell me about yourself."

I shrugged my shoulders with a small smile "What's there to tell?"

He chuckled and began telling me about his life experiences, how he loved food especially Nigerian food. Looking at him I couldn't tell if he was Nigerian till he told me. He was going to be the first Nigerian I came to like even though I've heard stories of how they treat thier women.

But Jayson seemed different.

And the most interesting part was that we both lived in Los Angeles, and this had to be a match made in heaven.
