Sacred Revolution

What if there was a place in this our world that we didn’t know existed? What if we classify aliens as most dangerous enemies of our world, but there is a place that has the most terrifying human beings alive. A place well hidden by the top powers and greatly influential people. A secret place full of mysteries and what you might call a fantasy land, where the people who live there can move at blinking speeds or can crumble a mountain in one fist strike. A place where your entire clan might be slaughtered because of a careless slip of tongue. A place where there is complete chaos and disorder, no government laws are present, only the strongest make the laws and the weak are suppressed without mercy. "I do bad things for a just cause." Now listen well, the reader, if you like those goodie-goodie protagonist(s), then please, for your own sake, drop this book and read another.

Chapter 21- The Counselor

SACRED REVOLUTION

Chapter 21- The Counselor

Author: Ede David

Year 79 of the Hunter Village Calendar, Einger continued his oppressive movement, ambitious and impatient to rule the whole Hunter Village.

He formed his Einger's domain but after a series of unfortunate and twisty events, Einger was killed in Year 113 and his domain was destroyed two years later, by Scorched Earth.

Prior to this massacre in Einger's domain, Einger's people had consumed an aphrodisiac, and hence, made love to their brothers and sisters, these children were called Onis.

The story was a little more complicated than this, though.

They weren't fully destroyed by Scorched Earth and so petty remnants of Onis survived.

But now, they were oppressed and turned to slaves, mostly because of their bloodline connection with Einger and the nasty relationship that were in their origin.

An old man with worn off, bald front hair sat on a bamboo chair, his hollow, deep eyes peered into the scroll in his withered, slim hands while his naturally benevolent eyebrows moved up slightly as he sank

in deep thought.

The Counselor let out a long, deep sigh; a sigh full of helplessness.

He was one of the strongest Hunters in Hunter Village, but even he could not stop the prejudiced views and misconception against the Onis; they were ostracized because of their Ancestors' mistakes and evil deeds.

He struggled to get where he is now, thinking he could make impact, but even after becoming one of the strongest, he was still powerless to do anything.

He sighed again.

Little children and grown up adults from those initial children suffered all manner of abuse from Hunters because of this negative belief.

He didn't like this; he was probably one of the few that didn't like this and although he was a Hunter lord, more than half of the Hunter Council disagreed with his views and were more inclined to punishing

Onis, believing that they do in fact, deserve to be punished for their Ancestor, Einger's sins against Hunter Village and mankind.

They probably didn't have any concrete reason for this support, those bastards just didn't like change.

The Counselor thought.

He and the rest that were against this antagonism were suppressed by the others; him, by the other Hunter lords.

But he was glad, he was glad that at least, the new Hunter lord agreed quite concretely with him.

Even though, it was only the two of them, progress could be made in the future.

'I have to build my influence to surpass the rest of the other bastards, then probably by then, my words will carry decent weight.'

He thought to himself as he rolled up the scroll.

On the scroll edge was a moon drawn in what looked like a clear, bright sky, instead of a sun.

This was the Morning Moon Domain's signature symbol and this scroll came from their Library; a very sacred and notable place in Hunter Village, where all historical documents and Hunting Techniques were

placed.

The Morning Moon Domain was located in the Western Region, along the other two domains, Border and Philosophers' Domains, and being that he had a major extraction port there, he could have

unrestrained access to that Library.

Apart from Starboy, no one had ever disrespected the Library before.

The Counselor looked out the window, and sighed once again in agony, this time, was because of another issue.

He remembered the person who had wrote this little document in this scroll, although photocopies were made; they were all generated from source- which was the Revolutionist.

Before the Revolutionist died, she had written many articles and documents concerning the tribalism of the Onis, the wickedness of Hunter Village and many other deep matters.

'She was stronger than even all these so-called male Hunters.' He smiled bitterly.

But unfortunately, she was killed by the Hunter Council; excluding him and Dragon Warrior.

Her ideals were just too contradictory to the growth and survival of Hunter Village, they say.

His deep thinking process were cut off by a sudden exclaim.

"Grandpa! Grandpa! Ah, why are you blanking out again?!"

He turned to look at the person and a graceful smile full of cheer crept unto his old face.

She was his granddaughter, and unlike any other person weaker than him, didn't need to pay any courtesy and was quite unbridled in front of him.

He studied her face silently, very pleased at her liveliness; she was looking to be in her late thirties, and she had heavy makeup on and a fancy, stylish hairstyle with shallow, purple irises.

Her whole features screamed her vivid desperation to still remain young.

Ever since his children and whole family had passed away; with their bodies unable to utilize the Sun-Moon Ritual, some dying of old age because of this, some because of strange plagues and sicknesses and some in wars, only his granddaughter remained- the sole child of his late son and daughter-in-law.

She was his everything, her oxymoronic childish and naïve smile was the thing that made him see hope amongst all this ugliness and despair that confronted him. It made him believe that true happiness

actually did exist in Hunter Village and the earnest drive to change Hunter Village was mainly because of the wish to create a peaceful place for her.

His whole family had died before him and he felt that living was an enormous torture on its own, but he tried very desperately to live, because if he was no more, then who would care for this his beloved

granddaughter.

He stared at her and rebuked with feigned anger, "You pest, I've always told you to get married and stop disturbing my life, but you wouldn't agree to settle down,"

"Pfft, I don't want to get married, it's my choice." The lady stuck out her tongue at him in a spoiled manner; not displaying any grandeur or prestige a woman of her age should have.

"What is it?" The Counselor gazed at her.

"A patient is waiting for you. I think he really needs help."

The Counselor's face turned serious, although he was a Hunter lord and unlike his colleagues, who usually gives off solitary and inaccessible vibes, he was quite free and like his official title, counseled members of his clan.

Sometimes, he even counseled foreign members.

He looked ahead at the door and after giving the permission, a 6 foot tall young man walked in with a severe, pale expression.

He looked depressed, like very depressed.

He had one sun insignia designed on his badge; highlighting that he was a very talented young Hunter at the one star Elite Rank.

"Have a seat," The Counselor smiled at him.

The young man, akin to a robot, mechanically moved to the chair and sat down with a somber-grave

expression.

The young man didn't say anything, no greetings, no etiquette, and The Counselor didn't say anything either, just calmly observing the young man, who had drooped and pale eyes; eyes that seemed to be on

the verge of switching off because of oppressive hopelessness and self-pity.

"I want to kill myself." After a minute, the young man spoke out silently.

His words were conveyed silently with even some faint hints of casualness.

"Okay, go ahead." The Counselor gave a short reply.

The young man's shallow eyes widened a little, looking very surprised and astonished at this response.

All the counselors and psychiatric experts had all calmed him down before asking-in his point of view-very useless questions.

"There is a rope there, used to tie the seat you're on, you can loosen it and go ahead." The Counselor smiled at him.

The young man just stared wordlessly at the old man's face; feeling very confused but yet intrigued.

"Would you really care if I actually do kill myself?" The young man asked slowly.

"No, it's your life and you can abort it however way you see fit."

"Why do you not try to stop me?" The young man became more casual, he didn't look off-put by the status of the old man sitting in front of him currently.

"I actually do laugh at people like you, your foolishness is too impressive," The Counselor's smile slowly vanished, replaced with a stern look like that of a killer bear, and spat with obvious contempt. "You want to kill yourself, why?"

"Because-"

"You know what, my body just sent the update, I don't really care why, all I know is that you are very foolish… you want to kill yourself because of what? Maybe because of a heart break, maybe because you feel empty, thinking there is no place for you in this world, or maybe because of the death of a loved one, but in fact, none of these reasons are barely valid enough for you to kill yourself."

"Rich men and women, powerful people, holy saints, innocent babies and children all perish, taken away by the cruel slashes of death… these people were more innocent than you, more holier than you, more

wealthy and influential than you, they worked many good deeds, deeds surpassing what your whole family tree ever did combined, but didn't they still die? Even good men die, even saints end up sleeping forever because this life was never fair… did those people not want to live?" The Counselor stared deep

into the young man's eyes while speaking coolly, "The answer is no, everyone wants to live, because living is just so intoxicating, it's like a bitter-sweet wine, we are all drunk on it, and we can never get sober, that's

how intoxicating life is, they wanted to live but they still died."

"Now, you have this life, life that many people who were far more useful dreamed of and yet you want to die," The Counselor seemed to get angry, "I wish that your stupid and petty life could be exchanged

with a more useful person in the world of the dead… what inspires you to commit suicide, because of sadness, because of grief, if these are your reasons, then you are the most stupid person earth and even

the ant that strives hard just to live is of far more importance than you."

"Note that many other people have suffered way more than you, but are still happy and smiling, looking forward to the next day expectantly,"

"I had to watch my beloved wife die, my son and my two brothers, because the Sun-Moon Ritual couldn't save them, do you think I haven't contemplated killing myself and joining them, after all, I have lived far too long but do you know what kept me going? It was my granddaughter, she was my biggest motivator, the very reason why I still strived to breathe, just to provide for her, just to care for her, love her dearly and protect her."

"Killing yourself maybe because of a loved one's death is too farfetched, when you hold that knife to your throat or that rope tied over your neck, waiting to be knotted, ask yourself, Will that dead loved one wish to see me like this? If your mind and soul answers you 'No', then rethink your actions, but if you feel that the grief and emptiness is too much, then go ahead and stab that knife, go ahead and knot that rope and just go your way."

"Life is a gift, for every day you breathe, thank God that you are still alive, for many others had wished and wished for this life, fought for it, even with all their wealth and power, but still failed… cherish life

and let life cherish you."

"Killing yourself won't stop your problem; you will only die a coward's death."

"Find a reason to live and even until you find that reason, continue living, occupy yourself, you can even drown yourself in an imaginary world, it's not a sin to isolate yourself from the ugliness and vanity of the

real world."

The Counselor's words flowed smoothly, before pausing and then asking, "If you still want to kill yourself, then by all means, go for it and have fun… so tell me, what is your choice?"
