TWENTY-ONE

"That's all I have to report," I finished my report as I stood in front of the high table with the four Elders seated and guards stationed at their side.

I briefed them on the situation, removing my encounter with Lycan's god messenger, lycan mate, and moon goddess's blessings.

There was silence before Elder steven broke it, "Is the enemy a god?"

''That, I can't be sure without an oracle, but the rogue said rumors about him being a banished god,'' I answered.

Elder Marley sighed in frustration, rubbing his forehead with his hand, "You could not get anything from the one he possessed about the traitor with a rogue mate?"

"No," I answered.

''We will need an oracle to get him to talk and to know about this Typhon,'' Hunter said.

"I will inform the oracle to come this week," Elder Steven said as he informed a guard to do his bidding.

He gave a paper to the guard, and the guard left.

Elder looked at me, "Carmen, As you know, the lycan king sent us an invitation and the alphas. We do not know what he wants since this is the first time he invited us, and we know about the rumors about his hatred."

''He sent you an invitation, personally. We do not know what that is about,'' he continued.

A guard brought the invitation to me, and I took it.

"We will have meetings with Alphas and the Lunas in a month since we will leave two months from now for the kingdom." Elder steven, as I read the invitation.

The card says the same time as Elder steven said, in two months.

I nodded.

"Meeting dismissed."

I left the courtroom with the invitation in my hand.

The oracle came two days later to the goldmoon pack.

A guard from the border mind-linked me, and I went to greet the oracle.

The oracle was a white woman. When I mean white, I mean everything about her is white. Her hair is white, her skin is milky white, and she is wearing a white gown, but she wore a black shade over her eyes.

She stood at the border.

I was about to greet her, but she spoke first.

"So it is you," She said. Her voice sounded mysterious and enchanting.

What?

"I didn't expect Selene to choose you for Artemis," She continued.

I blanked out the moment she said my beast's name.

"Miss oracle, please wait till we get to the courtroom," I said.

She mysteriously smiled when I spoke to her.

"Your real mate," She said and paused.

Then she smiled and entered the gold moon pack. ''That is interesting" She left with her parting words.

'She must know something to speak like that,' I thought.

I wanted to lead her to the courtroom, but it looked like she knew the way.

We entered the courtroom to see the two rogues chained up in silver knelt and the Elders standing by their sides.

The Elders bowed in greetings, and Hunter spoke, "Selena. It is good to see you again.''

'Selena?' I thought as I stood behind her.

'She has a name,' I added to my thoughts.

"Elder Hunter, you have a fascinating daughter. I must meet your family in your home after I speak with him."

Hunter looked at me and nodded.

''Him?'' Elder Steven asked.

"Why don't you come out, Typhon?" She said while looking at the same rogue possessed in the rosemoon pack.

The rogue didn't respond and was looking at her.

She removed her shades and her eyes which were closed beneath, one eye opened.

"Typhon, I am impressed you escaped Selen's prison," She spoke.

The rogue she spoke to suddenly smiled and said, "I didn't know Selene has an interesting oracle."

I winced at that same voice I heard in the rosemoon pack.

Scarlet looked at me worriedly.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves.

That deep eerie voice, saying, 'I found you, my bride.'

'He is the one,' I thought while looking at the rogue whose eye color changed to pure black.

"You came for her, didn't you?" Selena said and turned to me before looking at him.

I was surprised by the color of her eyes.

Her eye was purely white with no pupil, just white.

The rogue looking at Selena snapped his eyes to me and smiled, "I have been watching her since she was born, and she is perfect for my bride."

Selena smiled, ''She is perfect, isn't she?''

"Unfortunately for you, Selene has plans for her. Don't interfere," She stopped smiling and sneered at him.

"I have already interfered by stealing her previous mate from her."

Hunter said, "What?"

The rogue laughed, "Her family was easy to manipulate, and your creatures are so greedy and not contented with what they have, Selene."

I asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Selena answered, "Your ability to manipulate people's emotions and thoughts has grown."

"You knew she didn't have a wolf, and Selene had plans for her, so you dealt with her family." Selena continued.

"I didn't need to do anything seriously when they had thoughts of what I intended to do, so I gave them a push," He smiled.

I looked at the smiling rogue and thought about my past. Everything clicked together.

He controlled them to disregard everything for their greed, maybe that's why they didn't need to see an oracle when they thought everything was okay, and they ignored the signs of the blessing that Selena told them.

It was strange that they did not tell the council and asked Selena If Stella was the blessed one. They ignored everything like they were sure.

'So it was him, His ability,' I thought.

''I thought she would despair after everyone abandons her, and I could take her with me,'' The rogue said.

''That's why Selene chose her, and you can't manipulate her,'' Selena said, smiling at him.

''Yes, I made a mistake in my plans. I didn't expect that beast, Artemis, was connected to her from her birth,'' The rogue sneered.

" You are moving to the strays, aren't you?" Selena asked.

'Lycans?' I thought.

''Yes, the rogues are weak, but Lycans and other species are much better, and I found something interesting." The rogue said, smiling at me.

"Why am I not surprised? Her mate?" Selena asked.

"Yes, and something more interesting, but It seems you can't see beyond what is in his head, Selena," The rogue smirked at Selena.

"Ah, you are sly Typhon. That's why you spoke," Selena sneered.

"Anyway, It's good to talk to someone interesting, but I need to leave. I will leave you a parting gift since that person is useless to me."

He said a sentence and left the rogue's body dead.

I widened my eyes at that name, the traitor's name.

The two bodies dropped dead on the floor.

Selena looked at the bodies before turning to Scarlett, "Elder Scarlett, please take me to your home."

She put on her shades and left the courtroom.

Scarlett looked at Hunter and me before she left.

The Elders looked at me for an explanation.

"I will tell you later after I speak to the Oracle. we need to be sure." Hunter said to the remaining Elders.

Elders Steven turned to me and asked, "Carmen, what should we do with that traitor?"

I sneered coldly at him, "Why are you asking me a question with such an obvious answer? Besides, I need you to prison the older generations of leaders in that pack. Thanks to their greed Typhon did something."

"I thought you would pity them for being controlled," Elder Steven said.

"Why would I pity them when they made that choice and should accept the consequences," I said impassively with arms crossed.

I didn't pity them.

If they told the council about what Selena said or brought me to Selena, We could have found the existence of Typhon earlier, and things that happened before won't have occurred.

But their greed allowed Typhon to control them, and he did many things.

They should accept what they brought to themselves.
