SIXTEEN

The prison for rogues in the Rosemoon pack is the same as the one from my memory; a cold and dark room where iron bars cages covering the silver cells in two lines facing each other. I wrinkled my nose at the same smell I smelt that day; blood and sweat mixed.

Two bloodied rogues sitting with silver handcuffs on their hands and knees in the silver cells stared at me silently.

Their human-colored eyes have shades of black in them, but when the leader took over one of them, his eyes turned pure black which has never happened to any rogue. Either he is a powerful one, or he is not a rogue.

I leaned against the wall with Aiden beside me, staring at the rogues together.

I crossed my arms on my chest as I interrogated them. "Who is your leader?"

They stared at me impassively.

"Why did you come here?"

Silence.

"what are you looking for?"

Silence.

"Who is the traitor in the Rosemoon pack?"

Silence.

They didn't talk no matter how many questions I asked them.

I gestured to Aiden with my hand to drag the one that was possessed by his leader out. "Aiden"

The rogue positioned to kneel before me with handcuffed hands and legs, all with a blank expression.

I looked down at him, bending my knee to get to his level and putting my right hand on his right shoulder.

"What are you looking for?"

He winced at the sudden contact of my hand on his shoulder before covering his expression.

We stared at each other's eyes before I felt warm liquid on my right hand on his shoulder. He looked at the blood on my hand, and I followed his gaze to see my extended claws pierced into his shoulder.

"I am not a patient person, rogue," I said before turning my gaze to him.

The rogue who had been impassive smiled at me mockingly, "You have so much power in you, yet you are so clueless at the identity of the person who is after you, SANGUINEX."

'He smiled like that on the battlefield too,' I thought, remembering when he kept smiling at me before he was possessed.

I stood up from kneeling before looking down at him. "You admitted your leader is after me, isn't that right, rogue?"

He kept on smiling at me without saying anything.

I turned to Aiden, beside me, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "Aiden, make him sleep and bring the other one," I commanded.

Aiden knocked him out on his neck and tossed him into the silver cell before bringing the other one to my front.

I stared at this one in the eye and noticed something. Fear, the emotion, came quickly and vanished before anyone could see it, but that does not include me.

I grew up fearing someone and being someone that people tend to be afraid of, so I know when someone fears me instinctively.

He is not like the first rogue that kept looking at me with cunning eyes. 'He might not know something like the first, but he should know the name of his leader and the traitor or traitors in the rosemoon pack,' I thought, staring at him.

"Don't be like the first one who will suffer more while interrogated in the goldmoon pack," I looked down with impassive eyes.

I continued, "You should be happy that you are here, not my pack filled with Elders and warriors, who will use any means to get answers from you rogue."

He looked at me blankly, but fear passed through his eyes and quickly vanished as it came.

"Now, tell me, who is the traitor in the rosemoon pack?"

Silence.

"What is the name of your leader?"

Silence.

'I have been patient enough.' I thought as I clawed his cheeks to the side, bending down to his level.

I grabbed a handful of hair, turned his bleeding face to my face, and snarled at his face. " I think you rogues are arrogant during my interrogation."

His eyes widened at my appearance and voice. One of my eyes turned red, and my voice deepened.

"If you don't want my beast to come out, you better answer my question rogue, and she doesn't like you mutts at all." I continued.

Fear, that's all I can see in his trembling eyes as we stared at each other.

''T-Typhon," The rogue stammered.

"Your master's name?" I questioned in the same position.

Typhon. A greek name like my beast's name, Artemis.

''Anything comes to mind?'' I asked Artemis in my head.

'Nope, nothing,' she answered back.

'He is not one of the gods,' she continued.

That's strange, If he has a greek name, he should be a god, but Artemis does not know him.

"Who is he?"

" I- I have never seen him before, only people in authority have seen him, but rumors have it that he is a banished god." He continued.

'Banished god,' I thought.

In other words, he is a god but banished.

'There is no banished god or any god named Typhon,' Artemis said.

"Continue," I narrowed my eyes and spoke with my voice.

"T-That's all I k-know." The rogue trembled with blood trailing down his cheek.

I dropped his hair and stood up. The rogue let out a groan at the pain of his released hair.

I looked at Aiden beside me and turned my gaze back to the scared rogue. "Who is the traitor?"

The rogue shivered at the question but answered. "I don't know"

I growled in a warning, and the rogue trembled in fear, "I-I am s-serious, I don't know. We only received orders to go to the rosemoon pack."

He continued, "I-I heard from people that one of the leaders has a mate in the pack. That's all I know."

'A mate, now that's tricky,' I thought with narrowed eyes.

"Aiden. We finished," I said.

Aiden picked up the rogue, threw him in the silver cell, and slid the iron bars which cover the silver cell.

We left the prison.

"Aiden, we have to talk to hunter about this," I spoke to him in front of my appointed room.

He nodded and left me to go to his room.

I closed the door and dumped myself on the bed facing the ceiling.

I started a conversation with Artemis in my head.

"What do you mean that there is no banished god?" I asked.

'Exiled gods don't exist, If a god is banished, then there must be a reason for his banishment, and I do not know of an exiled god.'

"Are you sure?"

'Yes.'

If Artemis does not know of the god, his banishment must have happened before her creation.

'I must ask Hunter for an oracle,' I thought.

Oracles have another use apart from receiving prophecies from messengers. They know the histories of their god and the species, and there is one oracle for each species.

''Now, about that traitor," I muttered.

There are situations when rogues have mates within the pack, but the sacred pool of the moon goddess purifies them in each werewolf's pack.

History says the sacred pool of the moon goddess is the tears she shed when the creation of rogues began. The beginning of rogues' creation is still unknown.

Once purified, the shades of black in their eyes are removed and become plain with their original color of eyes.

But cases of being a rogue's mate are rare.

It has once happened, and she was an alpha's mate.

It seems there was a dispute between rogues, and they dropped her almost dead at the Alpha's border.

The Alpha brought her to the elders, and the elders brought in an oracle to see her history.

It seems Typhon was cunning to erase the significant memory within them, the memory the oracle saw was her dispute with the rogues and her time spent.

It seems she was to kill a child within her mate's pack, but she couldn't. After all, it was her first mission within the rogues and her time to kill someone.

I heard she was doing well in the pack as the luna and birth to a child with her mate.

But a traitor who has a mate that is a rogue and a high-ranking leader within the rogue is a big issue.

I sighed as I closed my eyes, "I guess I have to speak to Hunter after all."
