"Daughter, how are you doing?" Elder Hunter's voice said through the office phone in Alpha's Derek office.

"Dad, your real son, is here," Aiden said sarcastically.

"I don't need to worry about you, useless son, but carmen went her family," Elder Hunter said.

"I am doing well, father, and I don't have a family here," I replied.

"Carmen." Elder Hunter sighed.

Although he knew what carmen's family did was unforgivable, she should not be harsh on them. She should know why they did that to her. Before, pushing them away, but she would not listen to him when he brings up.

"We are not alone," Carmen warned him.

Elder Hunter went silent for a while before speaking. "An Alpha?"

"Yeah," Aiden answered.

"Alpha, It is a pleasure to hear from you. I am Elder Hunter from goldmoon pack, the two warriors' father," Elder Hunter said in a distant tone different from the warm tone.

Alpha Derek was not stupid. He could hear that the elder did not like him due to carmen, "Yes, it is nice to hear from you, and I am Alpha Derek from Rosemoon pack Elder Hunter."

Alpha Derek was stunned to see carmen slightly different from what he saw. Whenever he spoke to carmen, it felt like he talked to a machine. Now she talks to the man who adopted her. He could hear her voice, slightly different from what he heard.

"I hope my children, especially carmen, have not caused any trouble," Elder Hunter asked.

"No. Elder, we are grateful for sending them to us," Alpha Derek said.

"That's good to hear. Please, continue to take care of my children." Elder Hunter replied.

"Hunter, please talk about the investigation." Carmen suddenly spoke.

Elder Hunter cleared his throat before talking seriously. " It seems there is a leader."

"A leader, now that's troublesome," Aiden mumbled.

I leaned back in my chair and asked, " Did you find out what they are looking for?"

Elder Hunter went silent before sighing. "No, I didn't."

'He's lying.' I thought as I made eye contact with Aiden.

Aiden must have noticed too.

"Alpha Derek, please could you give us privacy?" Aiden asked.

Derek looked at both of us before standing up from the chair. "If there is something about my pack, please tell me," He left.

After making sure his footsteps were not behind the door, Aiden spoke," I am surprised he did not argue."

Elder Hunter said jokingly, "He wants to look good in front of his mate."

I corrected him, "Ex-mate."

"I won't be surprised if he has second thoughts about the luna position. My daughter will make the best Luna, even a better alpha." Elder Hunter said proudly.

'I can imagine his puffed chest,' I thought amusedly.

"Dad, can you be serious for a minute?" Aiden sighed at his childish father.

Elder Hunter chuckled at his son's words before continuing in a firm tone. " Someone is in authority over the rogues, and it seems they have a witch by their side. During the investigation, The leader spoke through the man, 'If he knew, he would have come to this pack because what he wants is here.' "

I spoke. "It seems the rogues' leader is a man, and what does he want?"

" He said a prophecy to all the elders present during the investigation, <One with half-blood of two species shall unite all.>," Elder Hunter said.

I winced at the mention of that sentence.

Aiden noticed my abnormal reaction, "Carmen, are you okay?"

"What else did he say?" I ignored Aiden's concern.

"He didn't say anything else apart from telling that person with half-blood that I am coming." Elder Hunter continued.

The person with half-blood is me, and I have a beast with lycan and werewolf blood in me.

"Carmen, that person is you, isn't it?" Elder Hunter asked.

I looked at Aiden and sighed with closed eyes, " I told Aiden that I would tell you something in the Pack, but it seems I have to tell you now."

I continued, "I had dreams of voices, different voices telling something, and it seems it was a prophecy. I don't think it was complete, but in my last dream. It ended with a voice. saying <Carmen, my child>."

"The lycan god sent his messenger for the first time to me at the border of the rosemoon pack, telling me to find my mate and talk to me when I do that," I added.

Aiden had a look of realization, "So that day."

"But I thought you had a mate," Elder Hunter said.

"No, it seems Derek was my mate but not Artemis' mate, and our real mate is a lycan, a powerful one," I said.

Elder Hunter muttered through the office phone, "A lycan, now that's troublesome."

"What is a messenger?" Aiden asked.

"A messenger gives an oracle a prophecy from the god of that species. I heard the Lycans had not received an oracle from their god."

"If the lycan god had given his messenger to carmen, this is a grave situation. The oracle in Lycan kingdom should have known something about it." Elder Hunter added.

That is true. The messenger of the lycan god appeared in the werewolves community for the first time, not the Lycan kingdom. The oracles will know that the lycan god wants something here.

"Carmen, focus on dealing with the problem in the Rosemoon pack. Come back within three months," Elder Hunter commanded and cut the call in a hurry.

Aiden and I stood up from our seats, left the Alpha's office, and went to the training ground, minds linking.

'Your mate is a Lycan,' Aiden started the conversation.

'According to Artemis, Yes, he is.'

'Do you think your mate is the King?'

'You asked the same question as Artemis.'

'Well, it is possible.'

'Artemis said my mate could be royalty, noble, or warrior. The Lycan king has a reputation for killing all his family members for the throne and women who threw themselves at him. There are rumors of him hating the idea of having a mate.'

'Well, That's true, but you have a reputation for killing too.'

'Yes, I do. but I did not kill my family members for abusing me.'

'He killed his family members, women, and strays. I killed rogues.' Strays are like rogues, but the Lycans call them strays. I added.

'You have a point, but carmen don't take everything by yourself. We are here for you.' Aiden stopped at the entrance training ground and smiled at me before entering.

I entered the training ground to see pack members practicing fighting moves and Derek watching by the side with arms crossed.

I stayed in my little corner, ignoring fearful eyes watching my every move.

I sat on the bench and leaned backward with my head on the wall and my eyes closed.

'You didn't tell me that the oracle in the lycan kingdom will know of the messenger coming here,' I started a conversation with Artemis.

'I wanted you to focus on this matter first,' Artemis replied.

'I can handle it.'

'No, you can't. Carmen, don't forget I am you, you are me, and we are one.'

'Aiden and the others are worried, Carmen. Don't make them worry more,' Artemis added.

I was about to speak when I smelt him, Derek.

I opened my eyes to see him standing in front of the bench, ignoring the curious eyes around us.

"Is there an issue that I should worry about?" Derek asked.

'No. Hunter wanted to discuss a pack's issue with my brother and me,' I said

"I see," Derek nodded.

An awkward silence reigned on us until he broke it.

"How have you been doing?"

" I don't think we have a relationship to discuss my life," I said with a blank expression.

Derek flinched at my blunt answer before he smiled in sadness. "Ah, of course."

"Carmen, I didn't mean that years ago, The pack."

"Alpha Derek." I narrowed my eyes at him.

He should not finish that sentence. I don't want people to think there was something between us years ago.

'He thinks he's clever by insinuating that we had a relationship,' I thought.

I was about to continue when I felt it, Rogues.

I stood up and growled out, "Aiden."

"How many of them?"

"Fifty of them, Bring warriors that can fight, Alpha," I said and sped up to the Border.

Aiden looked at his sister back before turning to the paled Alpha. " Alpha Derek, please follow me with warriors."
