Fury had gotten news that Natasha, Captain America, Tony Stark and the guy they have been looking for for the past year had captured Loki and without casualties from their side. That was good news and he was ready to throw every book he could carry on Loki till he rot in prison! In fact, he had decided to welcome them himself.
"Sir, Natasha just reported in. It seems she ran into trouble," Agent Maria Hill, his left hand and an agent he could trust, not fully but close, announced in his comms.
"What kind of trouble?"
"It's hard to say, Director. Better come and watch this," Maria told him. Fury frowned in worry as he walked back to the command room. There, he found all the agents watching an Earth shattering battle between three people; Stark, the guy they have been searching for and another guy with a hammer.
"Is this live?" Fury asked just as their guy punched the hammer guy so hard the space around them rippled.
"Yes! Natasha is taking the video via the quinjet," Maria answered, her eyes still glued to the screen.
Fury watched in horror as the two beings battled and the environment suffered. Iron man might as well be just for show because his little attacks were not shoving the hammer guy. In fact, they were infuriating him and Everytime he would try and hit him away, their guy would always come in between and take the hit and from how they saw the hammer leaving craters the size of houses, they knew it hurt.
"Iron Man just pulled out!" an agent pointed out and sure enough, they saw the armoured man fly towards the Quinjet.
"How big is the forest?" Fury asked Maria.
"It is one of the protected tropical rainforests in Europe, probably the size of Manhattan," Hill said after doing her research on a computer.
"This is going to cost us!" Fury said then winced once again when he saw a chunk of the forest been uprooted by the shockwaves of their guy's punch, which missed by the way!
"Tell Natasha to stop the fight, right away or this might be interpreted as attack on foreign soil!" Fury quickly told Hill as he saw the fight was escalating. Hill related the message then looked at Fury with concern.
"She just said Captain America was going to do it. He said he has a plan,"
They saw Captain America slowly float towards the two using a parachute and when he was directly above them, he cut the cords and fell right in the middle of their fight. But, the two were preparing to fire an energy attacknof some sort and Captain America's quick reflexes made him block the lightning attack from the hammer guy. Their guy aimed to the sky and what they saw could have probably made them wet their pants if they were at the scene. A beam of pure lightning was fired from his hands towards the sky, so bright it seemed like it was a second sun. The stormy clouds were parted by the beam and it disappeared into space.
"Sir, Moscow just lost a satellite!" an agent announced. Fury massaged his temples, feeling like he was already greying. They then saw a golden lightning strike their guy and he turned into a very mascular person.
"Who's that?" Fury asked, getting closer to the screen.
"Running facial recognition right away," an agent shouted back. A few taps on the keyboard and he turned back to Fury. "His name is Peter Scarletta, American. Lives in New York, no jobs, no priors. He studied..."
"Peter Scarletta, huh? Maybe that's our guy's hidden identity! Agent Hill, Agent Coulson, I want both of you to approach this guy. Question him about his powers, how he got them and if he would like to join us. Do it softly, we just saw how powerful he is. I will be questioning the hammer guy and get to the reason why he attacked our guys. Natasha and Captain America will be handling Loki while Tony and Dr Banner look into the missing tesseract and this guy's scepter, how it could control a person by a single touch or is it this Loki guy's enhanced powers! The rest of you, keep searching for Agent Barton, I want him and the rest of the people Loki brainwashed in custody as soon as possible!"
