Chapter 4: Breakfast and Observing Items

(AN: Sorry for the delay! I had to go out for lunch, and I didn't want to make a half-baked chapter, so as apologies, I'll try to enter some fanservice in this. I'm not good at it though, so a certain friend will be helping me with it. If it's bad, please don't hate!)

(Kirito POV:)

The smell of bacon filled the air as I slowly opened my eyes. I blinked twice, before remembering yesterday's events. Alice and I both received [God's Gift], and opened it before falling asleep on the couch. The smell of bacon interrupted my thoughts as I looked towards the direction of the kitchen. I tried to get up but was stuck for some reason. I looked down and immediately looked away, blushing heavily.

To my right was Alice, who must have shifted a bit during her sleep, and was now on my lap, breathing softly. Her face was pointed towards my stomach, tickling me with her breaths. To my right was Ruby, who was clinging on to me like I was a teddy bear, her bosom wrapped around my right arm. She was drooling, and kept muttering the word "cookie".

Yang: Well well, don't we have a player here?

I turned to look behind me and saw Yang, who had already changed her clothes.

Yang: Not only your sister but mine as well? Looks like someone is "Yang"ry for girls!

Yang then made double finger guns as she delivered a pun.

Kirito: (laughing) Pfft, hahaha!

Yang looked confused for a second before her expression turns into a slowly growing grin.

Yang: You laughed at my pun, don't tell me...

Kirito: (smiling) Yeah, I've always liked puns.

Yang: (with a giant grin on her face) Ooh, looks like you and I are gonna have some "Pun" times together!

Yang and I both started to laugh and started to exchange puns. Ruby and Alice both started to stir, so we both watched as they slowly got up.

Alice: (yawning) Fwahh, that felt good~

Then she turned and looked at me. I smiled.

Kirito: Were you uncomfortable?

Alice: No, it was nice and soft, so I've now decided.

She turned back around and stretched.

Alice: You're going to be my new pillow.

Yang laughed.

Yang: Is he that soft?

Alice: (smiling) Yup, it feels like laying down on a fur blanket.

Yang: (grinning) I'll have to try it sometime.

I blinked once. Then again, until I registered what they were talking about. I turned red as I looked away.

Ruby: (groggily) Hnn, what's happening?

Ruby opened her eyes, before looking at me. I watched as she came out of her dazed state before she recognized the situation. Her face turned red quickly, and I could see why she was named "Ruby Rose".

Ruby: (panicking) Huh? I was- I mean- It was nice? Wait! No! That's not what I- I mean yeah but-

She quickly backed up, face turning red before she backed up a bit too far.

Ruby: Wha?!

Ruby fell off of the sofa and onto her back, hitting the ground with a thud.

Ruby: OW!

She slowly got up, rubbing her head, before she zoomed in front of me, bowing down.

Ruby: (embarrassed) I'm sorry! I didn't mean to cling onto you like that! It was justhabitandI-

Ruby began to start babbling, while I was thinking.

Kirito: (thinking) I didn't see any rose petals, is she that fast?

Kirito: I-its fine, so don't panic, alright?

I put my hand out and started to pat her head, to try and calm her down. Ruby started to relax before soon, she had a blissful look on her face.

Ruby: Fwah~

Kirito: There there...

Ruby then stood back up and looked away from me, her face still red.

Ruby: I-I'm going to go change!

Ruby then dashed away, leaving nothing but rose petals behind. Meanwhile, I was confused.

Kirito: Why did she run away?

I turned around to Yang and Alice. Yang was snickering, while muttering something, while Alice had her arms crossed, pouting.

Kirito: Alice?

Alice: (turns away) Humph!

Kirito: Ehh..?

(Ruby POV:)

I changed until more comfortable clothes and came out of the bathroom, still blushing. I remembered how soft he was while I was leaning on him, the warmth on his hand as he slowly petted my hair.

Ruby: Hehehe... Wait!

What was wrong with me! Why am I acting like this? This has never happened before to me. Not even when Uncle Qrow rubs my head, or when I sleep leaning on my dad, yet...

(flashback)

Kirito: There there...

(flashback end)

I jumped onto my bed, grabbing my pillow and screaming into it. Why did I like it so much?! Is this what Yang called having a crush? But I just met him yesterday?

Ruby: (sigh)

I'll think about it later. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 9:00. Right now, I gotta go eat breakfast. While I like my cookies, bacon and eggs sounded pretty good too.

Ruby: (thinking) I just have to stay calm.

(3rd Person POV:)

Ruby walked down the stairs and into the kitchen. She saw her mom and dad on opposite sides of each other, while Yang and Alice were sitting on the opposite side of Kirito. That left only one seat for Ruby, right next to Kirito. But due to her hunger, Ruby didn't notice and sat right next to him.

Taiyang: So what are you going to do now?

Kirito: (eating) We don't know, maybe stay here?

Summer: Stay here? Don't you need to go back home?

Alice and Kirito both stopped and looked at each other, before making a silent decision.

Alice: We don't know how to go back home, or at least, I don't.

Yang pulled out a map that showed all of [Remnant].

Yang: Can you try to guess?

Kirito: Well, we come from a village called [Rulid], and it was located in [Aincrad].

(AN: Yes, I know it's not actually from [Aincrad], but [Rulid] sounds better than [Floor of Beginnings] doesn't it?)

Taiyang: [Rulid]? [Aincrad]? I've never heard of any of those places.

Alice: That's where we came from.

Summer: Maybe it's on one of those unnamed islands?

Taiyang: That sounds like it makes more sense.

Kirito: Which is why I'm asking if we can stay here. If we can't, that's fine too, we can try to look for someplace else.

Taiyang: I don't have anything against you staying here. Summer?

Summer: I'm fine with it.

Yang: Sounds good to me! I want to "Yang" out more with my new friends!

Ruby: I-I'm okay with it too.

Taiyang: Then it's settled. but where would you sleep?

Summer: They could use the [Guest Bedroom].

Taiyang: But there's only one bed!

Kirito: I could sleep on the couch. It was pretty nice.

Alice: No! I'm not letting you sleep there. (turning to Summer and Taiyang) We'll sleep together.

Kirito, Ruby, and Yang looked at Alice. Kirito looked flustered, Ruby looked... murderous? and Yang looked happy.

Kirito: I can't do that sis, I should sleep on the couch.

Alice: No, I'm not letting you do that.

Kirito: It's fine, I can always-

Before he finished his sentence, Alice picked up a knife and started twirl it around between her fingers.

Alice: Continue?

Kirito: (whispering) Sleep in your room.

Ruby looked taken aback while Yang's eyes were raised.

Kirito looked down while slowly sweating.

Taiyang: Alright then, do you have anything to move in... that's a dumb question. You didn't bring anything with you, did you?

Kirito and Alice shook their heads before they remembered something.

Kirito: (standing up) Can we go outside real quick? There's something I want to test out.

Summer blinked.

Summer: Sure, but be careful of [Grim].

Alice: Got it.

Ruby: Can I come with you guys?

Alice: Sorry, but we want to do this part alone.

Ruby: Aww...

Kirito put his hand on her head and stroked it.

Kirito: Maybe later, okay?

Ruby looked up, smiling.

Ruby: Okay!

Alice then grabbed Kirito's arm and started to drag him outside.

Alice: (miffed) Let's go!

Kirito: I can walk you know?

They both exited the house, leaving the Xiao-Long/Rose family inside.

Yang: (thinking) Interesting, Ruby seems to like Kirito aye? Heeheehee, this'll be fun.

(Kirito POV:)

Kirito: Why are you dragging me so far?

Alice: We can't show them us bringing out a bunch of items from nowhere, can we?

Kirito: Yeah, you're right.

We both stopped in a clearing before I opened my inventory until I got confused.

Kirito: Huh?

[God: Hey Haruto! How are you doing so far? Sorry about the drop-off, that wasn't supposed to happen, so as apologies, I'm giving you both another 15 [Stat Points]. Second of all, I have combined both yours and Alice's inventories. It'll make things easier just in case there is an emergency and one of you runs out of potions. I'm also unlocking some new perks for you guys, just to make things a bit easier. Have fun!]

I looked up and stared at Alice.

Alice: I'm fine with this.

Kirito: Me too, now let's see what he unlocked.
