Chapter 46

|3rd POV|

Ozpin, Qrow, and Tai get out of the bullhead in Vale and look at the man they want to meet. After looking around for a few seconds, Qrow suddenly says.

"They are there. In the octopus ball stand."

Ozpin looks to where Qrow points his finger at and sees Angelo eating an octopus ball with her daughter, Elizabeth. They then walk toward Angelo, and when they get closer, Angelo waves his hand.

"Here! I already bought something for you guys."

Qrow gave him a smirk before saying.

"You don't need to do it, Angelo. You already paid us-" Qrow stops his sentences when he sees the waitress put down a bottle on the table. "Is that a bottle of Blue Slug brand wine?"

Angelo gives Qrow a smirk before nodding his head.

"Aye. I just got a large amount of money, and I don't know how to spend it all."

That is a lie. He knows how to spend it all on a Tinker Budget. However, Elizabeth forbade him to spend all of the money he got from the royalty into a Tinker Budget and ordered him to get something for his enjoyment.

Angelo likes drinking. Even in his previous life, he liked to have a good drink. He is rather lightweight, but he can drink one or two glasses of whiskey just fine. However, with his Witcher's body, he can drink a large amount of alcohol before feeling a little bit tipsy.

"And you decide to spend it on an expensive drink? You, my brother, made the right decision."

Qrow sits on the chair and opens the bottle with his teeth before taking a deep breath.

"Ohhh~ That is a nice smell. Do you mind?"

"Go ahead. I bought it for you guys."

"Then I will go first."

Ozpin and Tai ignore Qrow pouring the wine inside his glass and sitting down on the chair around the table.

"So Ozpin. I never thought that you would come here as well."

"Because it was something that I needed to see for myself."

"And why do you need to see it yourself? It was a simple weapon test, after all. General Ironwood is kind enough to give me a special permit to test a new type of weapon. The weapon I want to test is not too big and does not need authority watching me."

"Hmmm, I want to see if I can be the one 'sponsoring' your future tech. Mobile vehicles are something that Vale really needs right now. Unlike Atlas, we have many kinds of biomes that are very hard to maneuver by land. We can use air transport, but we need an eye on the ground as well. If you manage to create a weapon that does not need any dust? That is a bonus."

"And your job as a headmaster of Beacon is not more important? I can give you the final result, you know?"

Ozpin smiled at him before saying.

"Don't worry about it, Angelo. My assistant and trusted woman are already taking care of it all."

Sitting on the headmaster's chair is Glynda, who mutters about how irresponsible her boss was and swears about getting a vacation just to see if the school is still standing.

"Very well."

"Anyway, I decided to call over Tai to help you in testing the weapon."

"Yo," Tai smiled at Angelo, "Long time no see, Angelo. You have been busy, huh?"

"Yeah. How are you doing?"

"Same old. Still teaching in Signal and still miss my beautiful daughter."

Angelo chuckles a little before suddenly saying.

"Anyway, we should drink and eat first, especially drink the wine before Qrow drinks all of the wine himself."

He looks to the side and sees Qrow already drinking half of the bottle of the wine by himself with a smile on his face. Ozpin only gives a small smile while Tai releases a sigh and gives Qrow that says 'Not this again' before taking the bottle away from him.

~Thirty minutes later~

After eating and drinking to their fill, they walk out of Vale's wall. Angelo takes out five devices from his bag of holding and gives three of them to Ozpin, Tai, and Qrow.

"What is this?" Qrow asked while looking at the device in his hand. "Is this the weapon?"

"No," Angelo shook his head, "This is the vehicle I want you guys to test. Press the blue button here." Angelo showed them where to press. "Then throw it to the ground."

Ozpin is the first one testing the device, and he can see it change into a hoverbike.

"Huh. A hoverbike? Is this the vehicle you want to test, Angelo? I must say I'm a little bit disappointed. We already have a hoverbike, you know?"

"Yes, but what about a hoverbike that did not use dust?"

"That is a new one. Can you tell me more?"

"Of course. The Snowfox is a one-person hoverbike designed for fast traversal over a wide variety of terrain. This hoverbike can even climb a rocky mountain if you want to. This vehicle did not use any dust to operate, as you already know. This vehicle uses energy stored inside a battery on the side of the bike. One full battery should last for one day of non-stop driving, in theory anyway."

"I see. How do I recharge the battery?"

"There is a recharge station I have already prepared. I want to test the battery first."

"Very well. This is just like riding a regular motorbike, right?"

"That is right."

The five of them ride the Snowfox through the thick forest of Vale with Qrow in the front with a grin on his face. His Branwen blood pumping at the thought of accelerating at high speed. Tai was not far away from him as both of them have a little bit of race.

On the other hand, Angelo, Elizabeth, and Ozpin decide to have a nice and steady ride.

"So, Angelo. Can I ask what kind of weapon you want to test?"

"It was a machine gun type weapon, a Mid-range weapon with a fast fire rate. As for the type of ammunition, it will fire condensed energy. It has two modes, piercing mode, and blunt mode. Blunt mode is for a non-lethal takedown, and the piercing mode is for a lethal takedown. However, that doesn't mean it cannot kill someone when it is in non-lethal mode. A blunt weapon is still a weapon, after all. With enough force, you can destroy someone with a club."

"I see. I'm looking forward to seeing them in action."

After a few more minutes, they arrived at the test field.
