Chapter 4: Friend Get

Two months passed since then, young Sapphire was currently reading a book about weapons while walking. Ruby changed because of the influence of Glynda, she became more proper and elegant even though she is still a child, but, some times she acts like a normal kid when Sapphire asks her to play with him.

Seeing his mother packing up their things ge went up to her and engulfed her in a hug. Summer looked at him and smiled, "Are you ready?" she said, Sapphire nodded and went to the smithing room to get his weapon. He got his weapon called Midnight Edge, the scythe is like Ruby's weapon but now dust can now add properties to it's blade.

Turning it to it's standby form and straping it onto his hip he got outside to see his family waiting, Taiyang got infront of him and gave him a purple hood, looking at the hood Sapphire smiled at it and hugged his dad, "I'll be back dad, take care of Ruby for me" Taiyang responded with his own hug and smiled.

As he and his mother walked away from the house much to the resistance of Ruby and Yang, They boarded a bullhead towards Vale. Looking back at his house, he saw his twin sister Ruby waving at them with tears in her eyes. He waved back at her while mouthing the words 'wait for me to come home' to which she nodded.

Getting farther and farther away from Patch he became slightly sad, He then snapped back to reality when he felt his mother's hand on her shoulder, "Don't be sad we will see them again." Summer said, Sapphire nodded as he grew determined, 'I have to get stronger quickly and also figure out how mother died and possibly prevent it' he thought with clenched fists.

Summer noticed this and became worried, 'Is he missing home so much that he is holding in his tears?' for the wrong reason, She then gave him a book about weapons with all of it's functions and designs. He silently read through the book with stars in his eyes making Summer giggle.

"A cute kid you got there" Said a cat faunus with black hair and yellow eyes, Summer smiled at her and saw a child who looks exactly like the older cat faunus, "Thank you, Yours looks really cute aswell" She said, The cat faunus puffed out her chest as she lifted the little cat faunus, "I know right!?" She said.

Summer stretched out her hand with a smile, "Summer Rose and this little one here is Sapphire Rose" she said, The cat faunus grasped her hand and shook it energetically, "Kali Belladona and this little one here is Blake Belladona" The cat faunus now known as Kali said, Sapphire who was originally going to ignore her mom's interaction with the other people on board perked up.

He closed the book and stared at the cat faunus pair, 'Holy crap I'm meeting one of the MCs in the series!!' He thought, outside he looked calm but in the inside he was celebrating. Blake stared at the boy who seem to be lost in thought, 'Weird boy' she thought.

He then snapped out of his thoughts and stood up, his mother and Kali were watching him walk to Blake with the book hugged towards his chest. Arriving in front of her the both didn't say anything and stared, Summer and Kali sweatdropped watching this as they glanced at each other with understanding.

Sapphire then passes his book to Blake to read as she took it, he proceeded to sit beside her and read together with her in peace, Kali and Summer skillfully took numerous amounts of photos without alerting them. Although not skillful enough due to Sapphire seeing them on the corner of his eyes, he shrugged and continued reading silently with Blake.

Summer knew that Sapphire noticed, her son was always observant of his surroundings, "So Kali, What brought you to come to Patch?" Summer asked, Kali then put a finger on her cheek, "Hmm.. Now that you mention it, I don't know... All I remember was that I had this sudden urge to come to Patch" Kali also questions herself on why she had to come here to Patch, was it a sign for something? Or just her sense of adventure kicking in again, She shook her head and continued talking to Summer about other things.

Sapphire glanced at Kali before pretending to read the book together with the silent Blake, 'Sudden urge? why is that so...' He thought, Blake looked at the blank faced Sapphire and touched his cheek. Feeling Blake's hand on his cheek he looked at Blake, "Soft" She muttered, she then grabs Sapphire's hand and gently pressed on it. Sapphire, who silently watched her, had his mouth twitch, 'This girl treats me like I'm a stuffed toy' He thought with slight irritation, Blake, on the other hand, thought that Sapphire couldn't be a boy. The other boys in Menagerie were not this soft.

Sighing he let her be, and grabbed the book to continue reading. Summer and Kali watched it all from the side and grinned, "I think you and I are going to be great friends Kali," Summer said with a smile.

Blake stopped poking Sapphire's hand and looked at him, "Where are you going?" She asked, Sapphire smiled at Blake and said, "First we are going to Menagerie to train, I heard that there are a lot of places that are hard to climb over there" Blake nodded, "East of Menagerie... a rocky forest as well as wet soil... Hard to move but good training spot."

He smiled and poked Blake's cheek as payback, "Want to train with us?" Blake stared at him and then turned to look at Kali. Having heard their conversation Kali smiled as she nodded, Blake's face brightened as she said, "Okay" She then took Sapphire's hand and poked on it again but this time she was humming a melody.
