I wasn't angry about her doubting or wanting to make others doubt my capability. Having two such important positions is very a fatal flaw in the system, but that was it. It was a flaw, one that worked in my favor and one that could or would be fixed once I retired.

Ironwood memories showed me how the people of this world thoughts, and I couldn't fault them. I couldn't fault even Ozpin. The reason why there was even such a flaw was that people didn't want to think of consequences and didn't want to think about how bad it could be if they thought about it. The people of Remnant just were so set on thinking positively that they most often ignored some of the very glaring faults, but that is the result of hundreds of years of civilization evolution. The reason was simple, Grimm...

Once I retire, it would be fixed so no other person could ever hold two such important positions, as Ironwood showed them the possibility of it being capable without making them search for this fault...

What Im angry about is this woman doubted my capability. I, no Ironwood, worked to the blood to earn all of his accomplishments. There weren't bribes or threats. Everything Ironwood had, was because he worked himself for it and what was given to him on the silver plate made Ironwood work even more. He despised the feeling of mediocrity or insufficiency.

And I inherited that hate too.

"Thank you for your worry, but it's not about if, but must. Atlas Academy is an Officer/Specialist training school for our military, and even if it could be sound wise to have some separation from those two, it just isn't doable, at least not in my mind, if the Council's decision is otherwise once I retire from these two positions isn't my concern, but for now, Headmaster and General are the same things for me, and the very reason you don't see any disharmony between them, as I take care in coordinating these two different yet same institutions."

Atlas had military boot camps for the more foot soldiers, but Atlas Academy was where the officers and more complex and important professions were taught, not just Huntsmen, that are Specialists in Atlas, from IT, logistics, administration, tactics, and so on, that I had absolute power over it was the very reason I will not give up of this position.

I was in an excellent position to shape the future of Atlas militarism. The problem is that Salem's patience seemed to come to an end, and I needed to strike first before the Vale fell.

Ozpin's well-meaning or not, humanity didn't have a choice in acting so defensively against Grimm that it could spawn from nothingness and immediately fight.

"And what about your other position you fill in Edward's Brown arrest? Doesn't that weigh you even more?" Iris lightly asked, concern clear in her tone, that is, if you could believe in such a show of concern.

"In that, your information is faulty. I'm not alone in this case, as Edward's Brown responsibilities were divided between me and the other two Councilors, Mr. Steele and Ms.Camilla, but if that puts weights off your mind, then you can be assured that we already chose to start a new election for a free Council seat." We had a full debate about what to do, and in the end, I chose the simplest, a new person to take Edward's position, and both Steele and Camilla agreed with me.

"Oh? You sound so sure, can you tell me more? Do you already have candidates?"

"Yes, we do have, and in truth, I have my favorite I myself wish to support." Lightly saying, I looked into the camera.

"And who is this mysterious person that has our General's support?" Iris asked interestedly, her eyes shining for new possible information she could surely use.

"Im sure you already heard of her, but my support goes to the huntresses Robyn Hill from the team of Happy Huntresses from Mantle." I...

I didn't have much positive opinion of the woman, but at the same time, I knew she had good intentions of that I'm sure, from the memories Ironwood had of her, he respected her for the empathy she held for the citizens.

The problem was that where Ozpin's plans were meant good, they could lead to a lot of meaningless deaths, but Ozpin was always a man who lamented the deaths but did nothing against it, at least from what I understood, if he had other ideas was beyond me, but where he wished to sit and watch, I planned to act.

Robyn Hill was the opposite. She, too, had good intentions, but her shortsighted would ultimately cost a lot of lives, and I wished to put that to the end, as from what I read, she was becoming desperate, and I didn't wish to need to arrest her when she finally crosses the line in playing Mantle, hero...

Of course, I could arrest her when she crossed the fine line. The problem was that I tried to breach the distinction between Atlas and Mantle that was after generations created, something that I couldn't if I jailed the paragon of Mantle, so what I need to do, is grit my teeth and take the lesser evil, and better Robyn Hill who I knew that someone other than I could worry if he or she is Salem's or Ozpin contact...

I didn't have an illusion that the moment Ozpin realized that I no longer danced to his tune, he would try to get someone other on the Atlas ruling body. He wouldn't mean bad, no matter how I disliked Ozpin's ways. I know he tried to see the best in men, so he would just try to install contingency if he thought I had gone rogue...

The problem was that he didn't realize something wrong even with Leonardo's clear betrayal, nor Ironwood in that matter, something my merged memories made me enraged at that coward's actions...

So no, as long as I do even the bare minimum to satisfy Ozpin's sense of security, I'm safe, and he would see me putting Robyn into the Council as a good sign. After all, I do try to mend the barrier between the two cities that once were one...

"Robyn Hill? You mean the woman that not even a day before criticized your actions in strongarming raiding half of Atlas and some of Mantle's high-positioned people?" Iris shockingly asked, and I'm sure that this was a genuine action from the way her body moved and her eyes dulled.

Even she didn't expect me to say such a thing, which is good, as I told both of them that my support goes to Robyn to the two other Councilors, which meant that they weren't Iris contacts...

Not that I truly suspected them, no matter Steele's or Camilla's problems, I knew that when it came to politicians, these two were the ones of the best there could be, as they truly wanted Atlas to prosper.

"Yes, Miss. Hill is one of the best running candidates and one I think would be best for the position as Mantle stayed too long without a seat on the Council, something I think needs to be remedied and made into law to have at least one or more Mantle's citizens in the Council to balance the scales." How hypocritical of me to say this when I held two seats.

But we didn't speak about me, but the system that was flawed from the start and not fixed yet, something I plan to change, and something I know Robyn would join me in, and with two of us, we have three votes, more than half of votes needed to make such change.

"I-I see... Then lets us continue. As I can see the time running out, I have another question for you, is it true that the Atlas airships are being repurposed, with some of them completely being reworked?" So it was clear that Iris's contact was someone in the military...

How...

Annoying, that said, the military was too big, and with all divisions, land, sea, and air being all under one leadership, that was me. It could be expected that there would be a lot of small breaches, as there weren't truly any actual intelligence agencies, the most similar military intelligence agency the Atlas have is MP, and even then, MP's main purpose is to just protect the civilians in military sectors, which weren't a lot, mainly just construction workers and such...

It was like the entire military was too built to fall if just one link fell, which shouldn't surprise me, with the idea of CCTs being a reality...

At least with CCTs, I already had plans being done, as my new cybersecurity teams on my command started to cut off the connections these towers had, as AKs nor any other Atlas military property wouldn't be able to be connected through them. I had plans to have booby traps in all AKs and other military equipment that could be stolen and used against us, in which case I could self-destruct it from afar...

Same reason all Paladin's were being taken back to bases for both re-equipment to give them better and stronger weapons and to make sure that not even one was stolen and not reported back...

Watt's was a problem, but I had a bit of luck in the way that all the built numbers were still written on paper, making the inventory revision much easier.

Same reason for calling the capital airships, with the biggest Atlas flagship still being in construction, making me postpone its creation to revisit its plans, add the much-needed security inside the ship, and give it more firepower for both against land and air enemies, which it lacked a lot...

I...

I do not understand the lack of truly heavy weapons. I can still reason that the reason why Remnant and Atlas lacked Altirely was that its first Great war was too early for such weapons to be invented, but why airships that should serve as gods of death from the skies and rain the fire until skies themselves don't blacken is beyond me, so much that even Ironwoods memories didn't help me...

It was like all these weapons of war that should serve as the main weapon of assault are serving just as support and transport for the ground troops...

Something I want, no. I need to change. The addition of a few more coil and railguns with heavy lasers should help, at least until I make some success with the help of R&D in creating truly heavy weapons for both land and skies, from Altirery to heavy AAs weapons, as aerial Grimm would be a problem in the near future.

The Monstra, Salem called on, and the swarm of Tempests was something I needed to prepare...

"As the age changes, so does equipment, on not just Huntsmen with their mechashift, but our military too, and I take the security of our citizens very seriously, as such, making sure all our soldiers and machines weapons and equipment is top-notch is my second priority."

"Oh? Second, then what is your first priority, General?"

"Why the training our soldiers and Specialist gets, and that is why, even if sometimes tiresome, it is better for me to hold both positions, as I can make sure that everything the students in Atlas Academy learn is truly the best for them on the field, and I don't speak about paper exams, but their survival and fighting experience, as such, I already made plans in sending a students teams under veterans soldiers leadership on some easier missions, to give them experience under the watchful eyes, something they would one day surely thank for."

And the earlier they learn, the better, I don't know if my actions spook Salem, but even without it, I had just a few years...

There was too much to do, and I wasn't blocked by just time.

But even by Ozpin's unwillingness to act until he was sure, I could understand him, and second chances were good, just as it was good to be sure that the one you shoot is truly an enemy...

But did we truly have the luxury of making sure of it?

I already know that my plans that mean good would lead me to hell, so why not earn my stay there...

Im General before I'm a person, and General is needed to make the choices that would dammit his soul...

Something I know exists...

At least I had the Mettle to help me to bear these burdens...

*Author note*

Sorry for the wait. xD

But as you can guess, I'm a person who writes by his mood, sometimes I write multiple chapters a day, and sometimes I'm too burned to write or even fix something, and just wish to chill in playing or reading others' works...

That said, thanks for all the support and comments. It's good that my work could wake up something like this.

And, even if I know I shouldn't, not with all the fics I have now, and I do plan to continue all of them, there is just a time when I prioritize one over others, which changes with my mood.

I plan to start a new one, especially.

I will give you a title that could help you to understand.

SI! The Reversed Mutlicros.

Yep, smut, with Reversed sexuality and Multicross as the main targets, in the normal high school AU universe, where women take men's roles and vice versa.

With the flair of adding characters from the other works, like the SI MCs family that would by Pendragon's, Arturia the mommy, Astoflo as a brother, and Mordred as a sister, and Morgana as Aunt...

With some neighbors who could be Summer Rose, Ruby Rose, Yang, and Raven.

And maybe even a lot of plots and characters from some hentai plots, where MC could serve as a gallant knight in saving the NTR girls from their bad fates...

Main tags.

Harem, Traps, Loli's, Incest, Smut, Romance, OP MC.
