72 Winter Break End

So, what'd you guys do last night," The blond knight changed the subject.

"I went to see my parents," Pyrrha smiled as she thought of what she did last evening.

"We went out to eat and talked about everything. They're clued in on what will happen in the future, so they decided to join Polendina's work force."

"That's good news! At least we know they'll be safe there," Jaune nodded his head.

"We went around town and ate out," Nora wrapped her arm around Ren's elbow.

"We had a date," Ren smile made Nora blush.

"I finished Sun's new weapon," Ruby nodded her head as she stared

"I thank you for that, twice," Sun said as he stuck his tongue out.

"Yeah, and I told you I don't care. You still haven't promised not to break this one!"

"Ruby, it's made out of Adamantium! I doubt I can break this."

Jaune laughed at the memory of Ruby shrieking at the damage to Ruyi Jingu Bang after tough missions. She was always stuck with the repairs and constantly harped at Sun to take better care of his weapon.

"If it makes you feel better, I promise to take better care of this one," Sun said as he held it up before nearly dropping it.

Ruby's eyebrow twitched as she pointed her finger at Sun's chest and replied in an angry tone, "I mean it, Sun! It's not as durable as Nyoi Bo but it can still break if you face an Elder Grimm or higher. Jaune and I put a lot of work into this, if you're Aura Control is good enough, you can keep it in pristine condition. I don't want to him busted up like that time at Harrowing Highlands."

A/N: I didn't mean for that name to sound like it, but it could totally work a sonic game. Harrowing Highlands Act 1.

Jaune started laughing as he made the whole crowd look at him, "Sorry, it just feels like you all came back with me."

Yang rolled her eyes and said, "In a way, we did."

"I wonder if me hitching a ride counts…" Sun chuckled.

"Holy crap, you really are a professional bus rider," Neptune said with wide eyes.

"Dude…and my tittle evolved, thanks." Sun face palmed.

The room burst into laughter before Sun calmed down and said, "You know, I'm not the only one that's piggybacked. You know how I thought my Clone Transportation trick worked?"

"Yeah, we essentially store one of your clones by eating the hair made of Aura. Bleck…I know it doesn't taste like anything and it not really hair…but still man," Neptune shook.

"Well, some of your Auras stayed within those clones when they returned, and thanks to some neat Semblance Mutations the system gave me, I could make replicas of you all."

Sun summoned everyone's copies with a clap of his hands.

They all looked shocked to see future versions of themselves with larger Aura's then their own.

"After Jaune reawakened the clones, they've fully manifested their original souls. Inside these hairs contain the memories of your future selves."

They all turned into hairs, "No more partial memories, no more seeing things through Jaune and my eyes, and I believe there will be some benefits to melding with them again. However, I might lose the Replicas, but I figure the new ones I make will be even stronger…I was just hoping you'd all carry a clone with you for a couple of months and feed it 5% of your Aura. I can't make another Replica if you don't." Sun pleaded.

"Fine me with me!" Ruby smiled as the clones all turned into a piece of hair.

Ruby and Nora instantly put the strand of Aura into her mouth while the others were thinking it over. Seeing their leader and friend jump the gun like that, everyone else did the same.

With a flash of light, everyone but Jaune felt their Aura's surge as the reformed and reawakened souls of their future counterparts melded with them completely.

Their Auras grew stronger, their physiques grew slightly, and they all suddenly felt very sick.

Ruby's Aura shot up from 3646 to 12,212. Everyone else reached a similar level before they all ran to the sink or outside to empty the contents of their stomachs.

"Nooo, my pancakes! You don't belong in the sink! You're supposed to stay in my tummy!" Nora cried before letting out another stream of bile.

"Oh, god…now I know what Jaune feels like!" Yang commented as she rinsed her mouth out with water.

"It's not fun, is it," Jaune let out a laugh. However, despite laughing it up, underneath his calm exterior, he was freaking out. He wondered how much they remembered. It should be everything since Sun used his Clones to relay messages during the final battle against Salem's Husk, but he couldn't know for sure.

It didn't take him long to find out as Yang approached Jaune and clocked him in the chin.

As he flew back and fell over a couch, Jaune jumped back and shouted, "The hell was that for!"

"That was for making me drag Ruby out of that mess," Yang walked forward and jacked Jaune over by his collar before saying, "You will never make me abandon a friend in combat again. Do you hear me Arc?"

"Wait a second…I didn't share that part, and that happened after Sun died."

"Yeah…I think Ozpin might have messed with that strand of Aura that came back with you…I remember what happened after you died. Ruby wouldn't talk to me for months."

"Yang…that's enough…" Ruby said with a cold tone in her voice.

"Er…Ruby…uh," Yang looked flustered as she dropped Jaune onto the ground.

The silver-eyed reaper smiled as she placed her hand on Jaune's cheek, "I think good old Ozzy planned this. We came back, Jaune. All of us."

"Is that why he said it had to be me," Jaune's eyes widened in realization.

"Wait, do you remember what happened after I died."

Everyone showed a sour expression before Ren spoke up, "We we're killed by a never ending wave of Grimm a few years after you died. We didn't even see this Nosferatu because it kept creating and sending newer and more monstrous Grimm,"

"It was that bad?" Jaune frowned with a look of worry.

"At first, we were able to somewhat fend off the endless hoards…but eventually," Weiss stopped as Nora followed up with an unnerved expression.

"Not even the barriers could stop them. It looked like a black tsunami covering the planet…"

"We thought it was over after defeating Salem…but…we were wrong!" Blake gripped her fists.

"Yeah, the last thing I remember was darkness and endless rows of teeth, then nothing," Weiss shivered.

"But, something kept our souls from vanishing," Blake looked at Sun with a warm smile.

Sun pointed at his face with a surprised expression that quickly turned into a cocky smile, "I get it. My clone was acting like a tether reaching across space and time!"

"It was fuzzy, but we saw everything, and when Jaune used his reawakening ability on the replicas, it woke us up," Ruby commented while nodding in affirmation.

"I see…" Jaune suddenly plucked Ruby up and kissed her.

Sun and Neptune whistled while the rest of room rolled their eyes and looked away.

"Alright, that's enough of that. As happy as I am to see you two back together, I feel like you're too young for this kind of thing," Yang plucked her sister off Jaune.

"Hey! Put me down!" Ruby pouted as the blond brawler held her like a naughty cat.

Jaune snorted before he started laughing. He laughed so hard, he started to cry.

"Ozpin, I could kiss you," Jaune laughed even harder.

Everyone gave him some space while walked over and hugged him.

After letting it all out, Jaune rubbed his eyes dry and said, "So, everyone is back, right? Even team SSSN?"

"Yep. Our future selves possessed our current selves," Neptune confirmed.

"I mean…technically, it isn't possession. Our souls just absorbed their future versions," Sun corrected.

"This would be impossible without the souls being the same," Ren confirmed.

"I'm just glad we get a second chance," Sage spoke up.

"No kidding," Scarlet added.

"So, we follow the plan, right?" Yang scratched the back of her head.

"Well, yeah. It's a good one," Weiss shrugged her shoulders.

"Okay then, how about we get ready to head back to Beacon," Ruby said while poking her finger against her chin.

Sun nodded his head and said, "You guys go ahead. I have to train up my team with the system. Oh, and I hope you all get the same title I did."

"Hahaha! Alright, I set up the new team," Jaune said as he put Team SSSN into their own bracket, "Remember, without being in our party, you won't be able to earn our EXP."

"Yeah, but since I'm dividing it between 3 people instead of 8, I should be able to get these guys to level 20 before we get back to Beacon," Sun said as the 3 leaders stood in a circle.

They started planning out what they had to do and almost an entire hour had passed.

Jaune looked at the clock and smiled, "Well, we'd better purchase a ticket to Beacon if we want to get home today. Argus is a trade city, so we get lots of air traffic here. There might not be any tickets left for today if we don't hurry."

"Right! We're ready when you are," Nora nodded her head as she placed her hands on her hips.

Yang looked at Sage with a smile and said, "You and I need to talk when we get the time."

"I agree…hey do you think our kids…"

"I don't know about that…but we do know when we made them. We could try and recreate that night…but I think we won't get to see them again. The odds are just…" Yang shook her head.

"I get it. I can't help but hate that we couldn't save them."

"I'm with you on that one…" Yang did her best to hold back her tears.

Yang and Sage weren't the only couple that had to deal with the loss of their children. The only thought that was worse than that was that they'd never be able to see them again in this timeline.

Jaune waited for everyone to calm down and said, "You know, there is something we might be able to do about that. If we use the Relic of Choice, you guys might be able to know what to do to ensure their births."

Yang, Weiss, and Nora's eyes widened before they rushed over and hugged the tall leader.

"I completely forgot about that!" Yang cried before Jaune saw the looks of relief on everyone's faces.

"I got you back guys. I don't know if it work, but at least we can have some hope. I want Kara Ren, Jade, Jeice, and Nina to be born as much as you guys. I'm their uncle after all," Jaune nodded his head.

"I'll forgive you for what happened in the future, Jaune. Just this once," Yang cried as she squeezed tighter.

Jaune heard a bone crack as he coughed and said, "Enough! You're breaking my back!"

Yang let him go and chuckled with a shy expression.

"Come on, we have to get back to Beacon. We all have a couple of months before spring comes round. We should train until we drop!" Nora shouted.

"I'm with you there. While Jaune has made us a stronger and pushed us in the right direction, our bodies aren't what they were. We have muscles and reflexes to train up," Yang nodded her head in agreement.

The group was pushed out the door while Weiss rolled her eyes and looked at Neptune before saying, "Let's try to avoid that train wreck of relationship we had the first time around."

"Agree…sorry for being such a…"

"Dumb ass, duche bag, moron,"

"I…deserve that…I guess," Neptune sighed as he lowered his head.

"You…sigh…I'll be looking forward to seeing you again," Weiss gave him a quick peck on the cheek before running out the door.

"I guess you know what it feels like to look back on your old self and really say, god I was stupid," Sun placed his hand around Neptune's shoulder.

"You one to talk," Blake lifted a brow.

"Right…heehe, see ya later babe!" Sun gave a kiss before she smiled and left with her ears twitching.

"Come on, squad! We have work to do!" The Monkey Faunus shouted as he pumped his fist into the air.

"First things first, we need to get a car," Sun rubbed his chin.

"I get some bikes," Sage followed up.

While team SSSN was going over how'd they'd hunt their way to Beacon, Jaune and the rest of the crew were buying tickets to fly back.

While they waited to board, Jaune worked on a few schematics when Yang sat beside him and asked, "What'cha doing?"

"I'm working on the drawing of Grimm Barrier. I may not know how to build one, but I saw the blueprint once. Thanks to our brainpower's recent improvement, I can recall everything word for word."

"I see, that should speed things up a bit. Too bad we can't just use the Relic of Creation. I don't think Ironwood would let us anywhere near it."

"No, Ozpin can set it up. We just have to keep the stubborn old man alive in this timeline." Jaune replied while jotted down everything he could remember.

"What about school?" Ruby questioned as she crossed her arms.

"I don't think we need to go another year in Beacon after we deal with Cinder. Considering the fact we're all fully fledged Hunters, we can graduate early and go to Atlas and use the Relic to speed things up a bit."

"Weren't we going to level grind at Mount Glenn?" Ren asked.

"I didn't say we wouldn't finish our first year," Jaune followed up as he licked the tip of his pen and went back to scribbling stuff down.

"Flight 204 is now boarding," The person on the intercom announced.

"That's us. Come on, let's go home," Jaune closed the note book and stood up.

End of First Book.
