Chapter 79: Bounty Mission (5)

~Jack POV~

<Aura Trapping>.

Suddenly Neo was trapped inside my aura stuck as I feed her the Healing Potion (Low) and I moved towards her mouth while she struggles to spit it out.

Nu-uh you take your medicine like a big girl and I'm not doing kissing the potion liquids into her mouth with the chance of her biting off my tongue.

No way I was that dumb to have myself anywhere near Neo without some form of defense, fortunately, I have <Aura Trapping> to keep her in place as I feed her the potion Neo sent a glare toward me.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be babied like this, especially with the enemy.

Not like I wanted to by the way since because of her maybe wanting to kill me and my reckless actions with my clones. I scowled at the idea of an enemy escaping as well as letting info about myself flee the scene as I got a blatant reminder of why in a form of a blue screen.

[Mission Failed!]

I failed the mission.

It was there on the screen in front of me as I feed Neo the healing potion I was only standing around doing the exercise of my daily quest when I heard I failed the mission.

I always wondered if it was a consideration that I could fail but putting it, in reality, was a real stinger to me as even I could fail on missions even if I try my best.

And the rewards along with it.

Sigh…

No use complaining though I did manage, to level up twice while my clones were actively hunting the grunts down and tying them up gagged in the process.

Even though there were a few strong ones with some at being the highest Level 30 but even then they had grunts that leveled to 10 – 25 at the very least.

And they had some aura on them but with my experience fighting people higher than me as well as using my Semblances as well as my skills staking more and more on top of them…

Well…

They didn't survive much on the encounter when I had the physical power to brush them off.

And they did fight like thugs even with experience on their side it was a simple task because of my martial arts and my trapping skills on them testing out what I can do and what I can't do on them.

Still even though Lady Beat escape to Mistral it's not like they have much influence here in Vale to do much than run away first and even though she considered me a treat for her boss she couldn't take the risk of obtaining us and flee at the first sign of danger.

Not while Glynda is the one I shadowed under her and reading the Huntress professor's feats no criminal would be crazy enough to try.

What gave it away was the guards notifying her immediately which led, to my downfall of failing the mission.

Well at least the danger has subsided with her out of the way, but I can't let my guard down with Neo around since she could prove to be a problem fortunately for me, she's detained.

Now I merely waited for my clones to do the job of fighting while I interrogate Neo as well as for my clones to find a way out of here in the process.

At the very least if I can't get a boss to fight then I would at least get a skill from Neo as her disguise skill would be good.

I don't have any of those that can fool the mind like Emerald and getting hers is even trickier than that still not all was lost at least I get to train my <Mind Resist> with the Apathy in my <Image Training> and get their skills in the process.

*Shiii*

Seeing the green light begin to take effect as Neo began to finish the drops left behind from the healing potion, I took this chance to see her stats to be sure of what to expect from her…

Extremely agile based with strong INT higher than my own so she will be faster and smarter than me but with my skills, I think I can bridge the gap.

Coughing a bit and returning the empty bottle to my <Deep Pockets> I see that Neo's body began to recover in an instant as I saw her HP shot up to 1300 when I saw her at 300 HP must have been in a bad position.

However, the first words she says to me curse the fuck out of me while I give her a deadpan expression, "What the fuck did you force feed me you jackass bitch for trying to poison me you stupid motherfucking – "

That stopped her in her tracks as she began to yell at me then shut down soon after realizing she spoke to me.

Guess with Neo so used to being silent to have suddenly regained her voice all of sudden would leave her in a state of shock as she merely looked at me with suspicion in her eyes towards me but another emotion.

Awe or possibly planning to kill me…

I bet on the second one.

But she stood there in silence as it has been at least an hour or so since she drank the potion leaving her stump at what to do suddenly regaining her voice.

She must have a lot of thoughts coming together as I let her be thinking away while we waste more time as I still have about 6 hours remaining before Neo speaks or at least tries to mumble, to herself within earshot, "No way… I the doctors with their gels… even surgery wouldn't… even Roman helping couldn't… but I can hear my own voice... that's impossible..."

All I did was let her mumble all she wanted getting her own idea off her mind as I waited till the completion before leaving but not before letting Neo go when I have enough distance away from her when I get her skill.

For all logical reasons, I would rather have killed her for EXP but… there are perks for having info on the enemy side if she's willing or at the very least anything worthwhile and if not, at least I have a copy of her semblance.

As she mumbles as I didn't let my eyes off her I checked my status to see what I have I gained in over the last few hours with my clones checking out the area to escape.

Since I choose the Cursed Item Box the last time, I think I'll choose the blessed one next but not in front of Neo.

Hopefully, my team will notice I'm gone if not I'll feel very conflicted about the whole situation of them forgetting me thanks to being in mind control. But I'll forgive them for that since I have the situation under control…

Hmm…

Maybe I need to have some training exercises to deal with mind-based Semblances in the future I swear it's like we're being bullied or targeted by people that can control minds.

Sigh…

I still have another 6 hours to go thinking of a proper training method to defend against mental-based attacks.

~Third POV~

Later on the day with Team (J)NPR and Glynda all returned to Beacon as she discussed to them being Huntsman and Huntresses as she spoke to them, "And that was how you work with people you trust. You may never know if the ones you partner up with will trap you or distract you in a pincer maneuver with people."

Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora all nodded happily as they discussed more topics about being Huntsman as they spent nearly the day talking about it inside the café.

*THUD*

Hearing the sounds of the Bullhead landing as they dropped off they all began to walk out as Team RWBY finally returned they saw Team (J)NPR as Yang was the first to speak, "Hey Team JNPR! I heard you shadowed Glynda for the day on a bounty mission. So how did you have a yanging day!"

Groaning at her sister's attempt to make a pun Ruby rubs her face as she spoke to Yang in clear disappointment, "Ugh… Yang… please don't make any more puns. It was bad enough to hear on the job…"

Blake didn't seem to disagree as Weiss rolls her eyes in annoyance as they shadowed Professor Thumbelina Peach a teacher at Beacon Academy that taught Plant Science as she comes out to Glynda with her glasses, "Correct Team RWBY. Excellent job on escorting the sap and you fellow college have you capture – what's with the expression on your face?"

Hearing the words coming from Team RWBY their minds seems to be dazed for a bit then they all widen their eyes in realization and worry soon became apparent in their eyes as they searched around for a lack of a person with them.

Ruby soon noticed something wrong as she was the first to ask seeing the concern in their eyes stating the obvious, "Uh… guys, where exactly is Jack? Wasn't he supposed to be with you guys on the Bounty Mission?"

Listening to Ruby's question Glynda began to turn around before the Bullhead left with a growl escaping her lips, "Grr... Team JNPR! We are to return to Harmony Club immediately!"

They all nodded at this as they all realized something was off. Professor Peach hearing the news her eyes narrowed as she volunteered to help, "Glynda would you mind if I come along to assist? Seems like it's going to be one of those days."

Glynda nodded immediately at this while Team RWBY looked at how serious they are as Professor Peach gave Team RWBY motivation, "Girls. Would team RWBY would like to participate in a rescue mission on the official Huntress mission saving one of your students? This will be extra credit as it seems like we're going on a raid."

Hearing this and connecting the dots they all nodded in agreement as they hurry on the Bullhead heading towards the last place they saw their friend.
