Also, quick question how come people don't like MC that uses soul and the gamer that uses Magic instead?

Is soul power weaker than magic or something?

Chapter 34: Team JNPR (1)

~Third POV~

In the far distance away from the fighting from the future team members, Shion glances at them as he spoke out to himself, "It seems like they've already found the hiding place of the Nightmare Grimm…"

*Click*

Hearing out from Shion's report Ozpin soon replied from the other side as he spoke through their Scrolls, "Good work. Let's prepare for the worst."

Turning off the Scroll Shion began to walk away from the site as he views the students leaving the area…

Now inside an auditorium that shows each of the huntsmen-in-training profiles as the boys are lined up for the applauding audience to see as Ozpin continues to speak to the crowd of students of the ones that passed the trial, "Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!"

*Clap*

The audience gives one more wave of ovation, while four students walk up to the stage to take their places in front of the headmaster as their faces fill the screen.

Jack for his part is extremely nervous for his part in front of a crowd as he swallows his spit.

Ozpin then begins to announce the team names of those that passed as he began to speak in a ceremonious tone of voice to them, "Jack Nights. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR (Juniper). Led by... Jack Nights! Congratulations, young man."

Amid the clapping, Nora laughs and gives Ren making him uncomfortable in a form of a hug Jack himself is honestly surprised by the turn of events as he spoke clearly surprised, "Huh? L-Led by...? If that's the case I hope to not fail you as a leader my friends."

Grinning at this Nora offers a friendly shoulder bump to Jack as she began to motivate him with some encouragement, "Well then-leader I hope we have a great time here in Beacon Academy. I hope you can provide us with your help. Right Ren?"

"Of course, we're under your care."

Jack nervously rubs the back of his head at the compliments of his newly formed Team JNPR (Juniper) as he'll try his best.

With no one to notice there were unnoticeable cracks like glass showing underneath Jack's back as if vines began to grow inside the soul…

Ozpin then finally motions over to the next four former protagonists of RWBY have to offer as they stand before him as he spoke normally, "And finally Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Led by... Ruby Rose!"

Weiss looks to her right surprised, whereas Ruby takes it with pride in shock as Yang goes over to hug her Yang says words of encouragement to her new leader congratulating her sister in the process, "You did it! You're amazing, Ruby!"

Weiss sees this as she turns her head around reluctantly accepting it…

But to no one else there was an unnoticeable crack like glass showing the back of her side as blackthorn vines are digging into her soul unnoticed…

Ozpin amid the last round of cheers begins to look at his students as he spoke seriously to himself, "It looks like things are shaping up to be an... interesting year. And hopefully, for the betterment of humanity."

Ozpin took a glance at Glynda as she huffs at him reluctantly agreeing with Jack's performance.

In another place at the night and seeing the moon through a window, providing a view of the outside for a shadowy room filled with shelves and a desk in the back, where Roman Torchwick is getting a call on his phone.

The muffled conversation ends with Cinder getting scolded for a job gone wrong thanks to the efforts of Ruby Rose as Roman places his hand over his head as he spoke out frustrated, "Fuck. That little red and runt messed up with the operation making things be put in jeopardy…. Well, then missy next time I'll try better so bye. Fucking ungrateful bitch..."

*Click*

*BAM*

Roman angrily slams the phone down, sighing. He holds a cigar to his mouth and puts his symbolized lighter to the end, just as a man in a gray mask and black hood comes with a trolley. Roman holds out a collection of Lien, which he places on the table and the man takes.

The masked man does so with a crowbar, revealing a large number of Dust crystals of varying colors - orange, blue, white, red, green, cyan, gold, yellow, and more. Roman picks up a blue gem in his hand and looks at the loot.

Roman seeing the job well done could only sigh at the scene as he talks to himself clearly tired of his shit, "We're gonna need more men... fuck that Cinder crazy Bitch to hell. Telling me to work more while she's in Mistral because of a damn call... ungrateful damn bitch. Sigh… I really need a day off from this gig."

With that Roman began to take a whiff of his cigar as he inhales the contents and released a breath of smoke out from his mouth as he begins to collect the Lien, but he then grips his hand as he was reminded about his stolen weapon as he swears to himself coldly promising pain to Pretty Boy, "But still no one steals my hat from Roman Torchwick the Kingpin of Crime in Vale and gets away with it… I swear you rat you are now on the top of my shit list."

~Jack POV~

When everything was said and done with me being the team leader of JNPR we already went off to our dorms and slept for the night… well my team members did as I was busy getting the new rewards I got from the mission.

Whew…

I managed to survive just the beginning of the story of RWBY now comes the real hard part.

That's surviving this world, but I think I have the right idea to live… I think…

But canon changed drastically with the events happening the way it did.

For now, though my next objective should be finding a way to live and get strong for so long as I can before the Fall of Beacon were to happen if it can happen.

I would like to stop it in any way I can without revealing my past life if at all possible.

But the question is should I or not?

Sigh…

That sounds like a future problem but for now, I should remain focused on training. I guess some pushups would have to do.

But… looking at a certain Maiden stuck I saw her name tag below the academy as I saw her name.

Curiosity getting the better of me I saw using <Observe>.
