Chapter 198: Battle of Beacon (1)

~Third POV~

In an Atlas laboratory, what appears to be a young woman with short black hair, olive eyes, and a light brown complexion of the skin. She wears a standard Atlas military uniform except she wears a sleeveless collar top with black arm warmers.

The woman Olive Harper nervously looks at a terminal in the said lab she holds a certain virus that will make the connections turn offline communications and give the full command to those that created the Virus freely as they, please.

Olive soon takes in her own spit speaking out in blind loyalty to her belief of Bram Thornmane speaking out, "I have to do this, or else Watts will reveal our plan. I can't have that happen to Thornmane no matter what."

*Click*

Inserting the virus inside Atlas servers soon tries to delete any evidence of her involvement of what she has done along with dooming the Vale Kingdom ensuring she made no involvement on her part.

Feeling proud as she saw the loading screen turning her back mumbling to herself in self-delusion, "Maybe this is a good thing… Maybe Ironwood would be 'KIA' and leave an open space for me as the next General to return Thornmane as the Ace Ops again as he deserves. He deserves it as it's his rightful place… and maybe then we can finally be together..."

Turning around seeing the screen of downloading done feeling confident began to leave closing the metal door.

*Zzz*

Unfortunately for her, she didn't expect the up-and-coming web star getting viewers in this world version of YouTube virus taking the loading screen changed into 'You got pranked!' seeing the situation at hand speaking out to his ally, "How peculiar hey Mario? Feel like fucking over a dirty old hag and hacker?"

Unfortunately though for Olive a certain duo of Italian people overviews the virus making SMG4 do a humming sound before doing something, "Oh this can't do! Our creator would be pissed if Penny was controlled along with the other Atlas bots but let's make a failsafe for them. While Atlas messes up a bit… Nah. Better not make this harder than necessary right?"

"Pingus."

SMG4 nodded at this beginning to out hack the virus letting certain events happen to a degree and completing their objective….

"ERROR!!!"

Hearing the sounds of errors happening all around the intercom system people began to get nervous about what was happening with the screen showing a Grimm coming towards the Vale Kingdom in their direction with the crowd's eyes glued realizing where that Grimm was heading producing a large amount of fear.

Oobleck putting a hand up to his ear calls to the Broadcast Ops, "Broadcast, what are you doing? Kill the feed!"

Broadcast Op over the earpiece responds replying of something going wrong, "Something's wrong! We don't have control of the cameras! We can't even stop the broadcast!"

Oobleck shouted in shock at the turn of events unfolding and going out of control, "What!? How is that possible!?"

In answer, the background behind the two teachers changes to the video feed of the sight before them tinted an ominous bright red with a black queen chess piece hovering over the scene.

They turn back to the arena as a familiar voice rings out throughout the Colosseum and the rest of the world watching these events, "This is not an act. This was not an accident. This is what happens when you hand over your trust, your safety, and your children, to men who claim to be our guardians but are, in reality, nothing more than men. Our Academies' Headmasters wield more power than most armies, and one was audacious enough to control both."

Soon the screen changes to a scene fighting one another with Jack's eyes widening on how Cinder was going to pull something off but when he saw the screen it clicked, 'The Crown… Cinder premediated this beforehand to likely use the illusions from Emerald shown on screen. Cinder must have had this at the ready along with Emerald's help to fool the people that everyone is attacking in the video.'

Everyone's expressions changed to shock thanks to the trick that Cinder made in the video however, those with Mind Blocking Semblance or Intelligence Semblance would notice something wrong immediately.

However, they are in the minority listening to Cinder's words getting everyone's attention regardless.

Several audience members look uneasy, while some are seen mouth agape in shock at the scene, they are all seeing, and to make matters worse some of the gruesome events happening had Atlas technology mechas being used making Atlas victory seems more troubling than rewarding before winning the Vytal Festival.

Ironwood, realizing what's going on immediately, grimaces and rises from his seat, marching up the steps while Cinder continues further, "They cling to this power in the name of peace, and yet, what do we have here? One nation's attempt at a power grab through machinery and force as they tore apart innocent's with their might demonstrating their superiority by force. What need would Atlas have for a soldier attacking the innocents? I don't think the Grimm can tell the difference."

Back in the stands, a gaping Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna watch the hacked screen of the Amity Colosseum hologram screen as they weren't the only ones seeing this in Kingdom wide event.

Blake's expression becomes a glare as the speech continues hearing Cinder's voice with the screen showing Jack's original Kiryu attacking Starro encouraging fear in the people to trust along with Knightmare Frames attacking the White Fang, "And what, I ask you, is Ozpin teaching his students? First a heavy firepower, now this? Huntsmen and Huntresses should carry themselves with honor and mercy, yet I have witnessed neither from the ones with power."

The teammates share a look before they all began to leave to get their weapons with Jack showing an indifferent expression listening to Cinder's words, "Perhaps Ozpin felt as though defeating Atlas in the Tournament would help people forget his colossal failure to protect Vale when the Grimm invaded its streets. Or perhaps this was his message to the tyrannical dictator that has occupied an unsuspecting kingdom with armed forces. Or the unknown mad hero creating weapons of mass destruction all under the pretense of 'used against Grimm' not letting the people know. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue as to who is right and who is wrong. But I know the existence of peace is fragile, and the leaders of our kingdoms conduct their business with iron gloves."

Ozpin watches the screen intently, The Long Memory at his side and Atlesian Airships hovering beyond his window.

Amid the silence over the Colosseum as they absorb the revolutionary words, Jack takes out his Scroll calling someone with Cinder explaining to everyone listening, "As someone who hails from Mistral, I can assure you the situation there is... equally undesirable. Our Kingdoms are on the brink of war, yet we, the citizens, are left in the dark."

Two blue Atlas Soldiers watch the message on their Scroll, not noticing the wave of Grimm coming out of the mist-shrouded treelined until they hear growling.

Both turn and open fire the best they can, shooting down a few. But many more rush past them with Cinder's voice still stirring up trouble from her position with a malevolent smile, "So I ask you: When the first shots are fired... who do you think you can trust?"

In the Colosseum, the screens cut from red and black to complete static with Oobleck talking to Port hurriedly, "The feeds are all jammed! We can't get a message out!"

Port speaks out loud wondering who the people were working behind the scenes, "Will somebody tell me what in the world is happening!?"

The question is answered with the sound of a wailing alarm throughout the structure, with humans and Faunus and even a Henchman holding a tub of popcorn looking up in alarm at the orange flashing screens reading 'CAUTION' Warning Announcer, "Alert. Incoming Grimm attack. Threat level: Nine. Please seek shelter in a calm and orderly manner."

The crowds begin to flee, wild and screaming, through the exit tunnels, while Ironwood enters the announcers' box and grabs the microphone from between Port and Oobleck, "Ladies and gentlemen, please. There is no need for panic."

"SCREEE…!"

With that said, a Giant Nevermore appears atop the arena's domed force field, giving a series of deafening screeches as it claws and pecks at the defense with its beak with Sun standing up in alarm along with Coco Adel, "A Nevermore!?"

Coco lowering her sunglasses responds yelling at the scene before them, "How did it get past the Kingdom's defenses!?"

Jack finishes up his call with Penny looking at him remain calm in a situation like this tries to talk to him, "J—Jack… what exactly is going on right now…"

Turning his gaze at Penny with a serious expression shown on his face respond to her, "Simple. The Queen sent her pawn here to make the first move. So… we act accordingly…"

*Shiii*

Opening up a portal back to 2B station in HQ using <Kindred Link> to open up a portal soon revealing a group of YoRHa units coming out from the portal along with Knightmare Frames coming in surprising Penny getting his Zanpakuto out responding to her, "We play the part and defend the best we can. Right now, we focus on the situation and kill Grimm. No more no less."

Penny hearing this nod her head in understanding as the other students soon come to the arena with Jack's own forces coming out.

In the headmaster's office, Ozpin is gripping his cane tight, watching the city come under attack with a horrified expression Qrow runs in with Glynda Goodwitch, "Oz!"

Ozpin turning to them gets a serious expression ordering them immediately, "Get to the city NOW!!"

Qrow and Glynda exchange a look before going back the way they came.

Meanwhile, Mountain Glenn is almost silent, as every monster lurking there from Beowolves to Boarbatusks, Ursai, and Nevermore's, and even lumbering Goliaths with wide red eyes rush forward.

And inside said mountain a Giant class Grimm sleeps soundly but with the rise of the negative emotions being senses…

One eye opened up…

Ironwood is back at the Colosseum watching the Nevermore attack the shields until he answers his Scroll, stammering, "Ozpin, the video... I-I can explain!"

Ozpin gravely in a beat, then angrily replied to the General, "You brought your army to my Kingdom, James. Use it."

Ironwood's worry turns to determination. His fleet of ships is being attacked by even more giant Nevermores though to minimal effect.

Soldiers inside are scrambling to enter commands inside the bridge around their commanding officer. Atlas Ship Captain speaking into his Scroll as he turns to the screen of data, "Dammit! This is Blue Four! Blues Two and Three, fall into defensive position!"

Blue Three over the Scroll replied back hurriedly, "Roger! Blue Three, in position!"

Atlas Ship Captain tries to respond back but no response giving the Ship Captain worry in his heart, "Blue Two, what's your status? Blue Two, come in! Someone answers me, dammit!"

He doesn't know that the bridge of the last ship is wrecked, computers sparking and men down as a pair of high boots walk through the destruction with Hazel appearing angrily staring at Beacon Academy mumbling to himself, "This is for you, Gretchen."

Outside the Airships, where the furthest craft suddenly turns towards its allies and fires several bright red lasers at the engine of the one closest to it with the Atlas Ship Captain yelling out, "We're hit! What's going—"

Before he can finish speaking the flaming ship crashes into another in a series of explosions and sends both of them tumbling toward the waters below Hazel silently sees the scene turns his gaze towards Beacon Academy growling at it and speaking in anger, "Ozpin… I will make sure you pay for everything. No matter the cost."

Finally, at Beacon's cliffside landing platforms, three Bullheads arrive, the middle one opening its hatch to reveal four former members of the White Fang Vale Branch, and their current leader that used to be Adam's subordinate, "Bring them to their knees! Kill Jack Nights for killing our glorious leader! And – "

Standing to side was Jacques Schnee with his corrupt allies 'conveniently' placed exactly where the White Fang group was starting their attack as their hate for the man changed immediate attacks with the current leader grinning sadistically, "—and kill that fucking Schnee bastard for good!!!!!"

Another Bullhead opens its door, this time with several creatures of Grimm inside. A growling Ursa jumps from it and lands on Academy grounds and a few tearing apart Jacques Schnee and his corrupt partners are all attacked by the Grimm.

They began to scream, kick, and yell in pain when finally, Jacques was in control after Jack used him as his private puppet of <Mind Control> no longer needing him alive anymore trying to scream bloody murder his name but couldn't as a Grimm ripped out his vocal cords eating him alive.

And the other members that were corrupt as Jacques soon joined his fate being torn apart by monsters screaming for help but the former White Fang members that belief in Adam's cause smiled sadistically at this.

All the while a small drone was video recording everything with the Future Foundation logo located on it…

The foreboding scene darkens as Ursa's roar echoes, leaving only the burning red eyes of the monster until they too disappear…

Elsewhere in the Mistral Kingdom, another fight was issued out inside a certain bar…

*BAM*

*BANG*

*BAM*

"Quick kill those bastards!"

"How dare them to attack the Spiders –"

"AH!"

Spider is one of the most powerful crime syndicates stationed in Mistral, under the leadership of Lil' Miss Malachite.

While not much is known about the organization's past, it is known that its leader, Lil' Miss Malachite, was once terrified of the group. She overcame this fear by making the Spiders work for her, overthrowing the group's former leader.

Spiders are the theme of the group, with every member receiving a tattoo of the spider emblem on their bodies and the symbol being used to mark hideouts and territory. The group prioritized loyalty above all, with those who stepped out of line being killed.

To combat this, the group would assign partners through a buddy system, with new members being hazed by more experienced Spiders to follow this conduct.

Outside running a bar in the lower parts of Mistral, the Spiders also had access to various other locations in the city. They were behind the nightclub called The Luck of the Mountains. They would also run an illegal gambling operation in the club's basement.

Furthermore, Lil' Miss' forces amounted to a small army, allowing her to operate without the Mistral City Council keeping an eye on her and making her the second most powerful force in the city outside of the Headmaster of Haven Academy himself.

But when the Headmaster of Haven Academy Lionheart was disposed of Lil' Miss soon became the top crime syndicate in the Mistral Kingdom… and yet…

*BAM*

"AHH! THE BASTARD TOOK OUT THE BOSS!"

She lay there with her brain matter spreading across the wall with a C. Jack in disguise using <Overactive Imagination> hiding his identity spoke out spotting the former Headmistress of Lady Browning's Preparatory Academy For Girls Lady Beat drinking in panic as their eyes met making her shake with fear.

C. Jack merely smiled recalling she tried to make him a slave failing his quest before speaking in a voice modulator hiding his voice, "Oh boy… payback is a bitch. Time to take out the trash."

With communications down temporarily across Remnant C. Jack's from all over hiding with <Overactive Imagination> began to destroy crime syndicates as planned to make, his own criminal puppet group is in control when the battle of Beacon happens.

Mistral, Atlas, Vale, and Vacuo.

The C. Jack's main objective was to purge, the criminals to gain EXP while using the invasion as a cover-up with people too distracted to be concerned about the criminal underworlds while his own group secretly takes control.

A/N: Okay guys for this arc a heads up all the fights and events happening are going to be out of order with how everything is in chaos happening everywhere some fights will happen as well as other events happening out of place to be returned in later chapters.
