Chapter 115: RWBY/Justice League (16)

~Jack POV~

Waiting for my team to wake up I see that Nora began to wake up slightly with her eyes back to normal as she began to speak, "Ugh… what… what happen to me – Wait? Jack why are you here and – Ow… my head hurts…"

Getting a bottle of water from my <Deep Pockets> I began to give one to Nora as she began to drink it while she struggles a bit glancing to her sides, "Pyrrha? Ren… wait… what happened the last time – REN!"

*Thud*

"Ow… why does my body feel sore…"

Suddenly her eyes widen she tries to go to Ren but suddenly fell down as I help her up giving her the heads up, "Whoa! Hold it there Nora! We just managed to get you back after you got mind controlled. Do you last remember anything?"

Hearing my words as I help gesture Nora to a chair as she gets her bearings together as she tells me what happened, "Right… I was with Ren doing a mission like usual but… then the shadowed Huntsman and Huntresses suddenly attacked us… then a weird Grimm hypnotizing Ren while he looked at its eyes then…. Oh no. How long… how long have we been brainwashed."

Flinching hearing Nora's voice like that I began to reply to her with a defeated expression on my face, "Week or more. And that's not accounting that you guys aren't the only ones taken control of."

Nora pales at this while I let her sit in her own thought.

"Ugh…"

"Ahugh…"

Next Ren and Pyrrha soon came to as I brought some water bottles out for them as they saw me as I smiled sadly at them, "Sup guys. Didn't think our reunion would be after you guys got brainwashed. Drink up all of you need to hear this."

They took the water bottle Pyrrha was the first to respond while I help the two up, "Cough! Sorry, but what exactly happened? Last, I recall… I was on a mission then suddenly taken in the water surprised…"

Ren soon answers recalling everything that happened with wide eyes but turns away from Nora in guilt as he spoke, "Wait… I remember Nora and me running away but then… Oh no. I was then hypnotized by a neon Grimm then blank, but I recall…"

Not finishing his words as I help Ren close to Nora looking away in guilt as Nora pats his shoulder trying to comfort him, "Ren… I know that wasn't you in control. It was because of that Grimm but… Pyrrha how did you get brain controlled?"

Pyrrha then glances at me with a loss, of words as she clenches her head in pain trying to remember what happened, "Ow… I think I last recall fright with… oh… I remember fighting Team RWBY and co. then after that… Jack knocks us out while peeling those… starfish off us? Jack, what exactly is going on here?"

Listening to them Ruby soon comes to my room to talk to me and is surprised to see Team JNPR up again, "Hey Jack we all decided to head, towards Arthur – Ah! Ren! Nora! Pyrrha! All of you guys are awake and not brainwashed!"

At this the three of them looked at us in the confusion about what was going on as I sighed giving them a choice, "Sigh… trust me on this do you want the very long and complicated explanation or the short summary?"

They glanced at each other before nodding with Ren the first to ask what he wanted to know, "Ok… how about the short summary of what's going on?"

Nodding at this Ruby took the moment to explain to them of the situation as short and sweetly as she can, "Ok so… basically we are facing an alien god named Starro that has essentially taken control of everyone in Remnant Faunus, Humans, and Grimm. Starro is increasing his influence leaving us to know where he is. So we are trying to launch an attack with us only able people to fight against it. Eh… trust me it's the truth."

"I'm sorry but… WHAT?!!"

Yeah…

That would be the appropriate reaction to such news.

Those three are still processing everything that has been said and not long before Penny comes over to see the group Pyrrha asks why us, "Wait… if it's serious as you say, Ruby? Then why isn't the Kingdoms or Atlas Military doing anything about this Starro!"

"Because they can't."

Hearing the cut words Penny she explains to the three of them the seriousness of the situation we are in, "The entirety of the Atlas Military and Soldiers are under Starro's influence. Even my father is in his control… we are essentially the only ones with free will and location to find and defeat Starro to save Remnant."

Next came up to Nora trying to stand up wanting an answer why we haven't given the news to the rest of Remnant, "In that case why haven't you guys notified the rest of the Kingdoms? I bet they would be able to do something about this alien invader!"

At this it was my turn to explain how impossible it was for us to try for multiple reasons why that isn't possible, "Sigh… as much as I like the idea Nora but that won't work. Vale is already compromised as we speak when we barely made it out of there. Who's to say any Kingdom is safe? And don't even forget that we would have to fight Huntsman and Huntresses with strange, versatile, and powerful Semblances we would have to fight through all under that glorified Starfish influence. So yeah… we are definitely against the very world at this rate."

And missed the opportunity to get some goodies and mob wave EXP points.

Their mouths are agape hearing the news of how fucked we are and next Pyrrha voices out with anger in her voice, "Please tell me we have a plan against this… mastermind. Starro whatever. Because it sounds like we have nothing."

At that moment I voice out my thoughts we aren't completely screwed yet as I respond to Pyrrha, "Well… we aren't exactly down. But I do need to make a quick return back to my island but first, a place for everyone to stop."

Hearing my words Ruby suddenly remembered what she wanted to say to me as she spoke out surprised, "Oh right! Jack and everyone will be heading toward Arthur Kingdom. There will have time to adjust for everyone to relax and make plans for the attack. Do you want any pit stops on your island so we could gather our own forces?"

Nodding at that I replied to Ruby while having a mischievous grin on my face as I spoke to her, "Yeah I would like that. If we are facing some kind of monster-like creature the best thing to do is have something to even the odds even if it's slightly to our advantage. Anything would be helpful at this point."

Blinking at this she agrees as she rushes over to inform Jessica while Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora hear the news of what's going on before Nora voices out something, "Wait you have a private island that has high-tech robots! When did that happen!"

Laughing nervously I explained to them the best I could about my semester break as their eyes widen at the adventure I had as Nora whined, "Ahh… God damn it! I want to see your Hunter Dog Koro! He sounds fluffy and adorable!"

I only laughed at this enjoying this moment as Penny glanced while I gesture to join in the conversation as I spoke to her, "Come on Penny. I wanted to introduce you to my team and might as well get the chance over with it. I assure you won't regret it."

Penny nervously comes over everyone surprised to see her limbs being made of metal as she introduces herself to them, "Hello Jack's friends… I'm Penny Polendina the first Android with a Soul. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm sorry if I look… weird to you all…"

That was when Pyrrha was the first to respond with a smile on her face calming her as she introduces herself along with the others to her, "Oh my. So, you were the one that Jack spoke highly of especially the robot jokes now making sense. My name is Pyrrha Nikos, this here is Ren Lie and Nora Valkyrie it's a pleasure to meet you, Penny. Any friend of our leader is a friend of ours."

Penny was surprised by this and she asked to be sure that they aren't freaked out about her being a robot, "Really? You don't think anything off about me being an android with you guys? Like a normal girl?"

Ren shook his head as he spoke out with a kind smile on his face to her, "Sure. Only those with aura are really alive even if you have a different build you are still alive like any Human or Faunus."

Making a small laugh at this rubbing Penny's head I also offered to fix her up a bit, "Hehe you mean Penny is built different Ren? Oh right. Penny do you need to change I might have something on my island to fix your skin."

Blinking at this Penny nodded her head with a content smile on her face as she gets closer to my team, "I would really like that Jack. And thanks for saving me… even though I asked you to destroy my core you would rather save me… I still can't thank you enough…"

At this Nora gains a mischievous grin at this as she gets closer to Penny managing to stand up as she talked to her, "Oh…? Penny can you care to explain how your knight of shining armor saved a maiden like yourself? Don't miss any detail tell your friendly Nora."

Rolling my eyes seeing Nora's antics I couldn't help but smirk and seeing my team like this despite everything.

Pyrrha tries to stand up but almost fall I caught her before she falls. She blushed a bit while I was helping her up as I talked to her, "No worries Pyr. For I am here to help you stand up. Will get through this together."

She nods at this helping her up and when Penny began to explain her story of everything of how I managed to save her.

Times like these really appreciate that we all are alive… and then there are some bad pricks that need to be put down.

And…

I'm not letting Ruby or Yang enter my island… at least not yet to meet Summer what I don't need right now is added stress for them when the very fate of Remnant depends on a group of kids to save it.

Now, this sounding more like an anime adventure now…

Still, there will be a time and place for Ruby and her family to reconnect with their mother later even if this is a bit cruel what I need right now is for them to think of the bigger picture, not emotional distress right now.

When Summer is about to wake up is when I'll allow them to meet their families since I can't trust Ozpin with Lionheart around at least till I can gather evidence to show to Qrow to do something about it.

Right now, that issue is going to stay back for the time being.

For now, I need to create our very own Kaiju to fight against Starro but I couldn't help but grin at this because the Mechas Godzilla project Kiryu might be the prototype but then again with what I gained over this short time.

The Dust Battery, Aura Energy, and Arc Reactors along with the way to use them to power Kiryu …

I have some crazy ideas about where to begin and it seems like I need to accelerate Project Kiryu soon enough if we want a chance to fight a Kaiju monster, we need a kaiju or mechas monster of our own.

And who else but a spitting image of a mechas King of Monsters to fight alongside us?

I knew there was a reason I built a giant fighting monster robot!
