RWBY: A Matter of Perspective

"Where do Monsters come from?" A simple question with a deceptively complicated answer if it could even be called that. Monsters are made by us after all, who else could? "What about heroes then, where do they come from?" A not so different question with a not so different answer. We make them ourselves. Who else would? One might now ask, "what's the difference then?" To that a confusing answer, as the difference is in who is telling the story as there is no more complex illusion than simplicity, and honesty is but a fairy tale: a lie. Nothing more. Nothing less. ----------. Fanfics tend to be pretty cringe. With most out there being either super-OP characters that can sneeze wrong and the world explodes, overly edgy mc that makes it hard to read, or just blatant sexual fantasies, it's no surprise why people avoid them. With this novel I aim to try to make an actual story with actual characters. This is my first time writing anything beyond schoolwork, so don't expect much. That being said, while I may not have a degree in English, I have been speaking it most of my life my life and that comes with at least a little confidence, so the grammar wont be abysmal at the very least.

A Talk Pt. 2

Author's note:

A short one today. I didn't have much time to write yesterday, so I wasn't able to hit the 1000 word minimum that I usually shoot for. I hope you enjoy regardless.

I will try to get a chapter out tomorrow to make up for it, but no promises.

Anyway, have a good day!

Sapphire POV:

"What are you two doing!?" Wiess's shrill voice put a pause in Ruby's attack; long enough for me to escape from her clutches.

I didn't waste this opportunity either, as, with quick thinking, I solved Ruby from below, forcing her off of my waist, and I vaulted over my bed to put something between us. Using the bed as cover I glare at the red menace, who is pouting at Weiss; likely because she ruined her fun.

"Ahem!" Suddenly Yang faked a cough to get the room's attention.

I turn around from my position of being crouched beside my bed and look at Yang Curiously. The smirk on her face makes her amusement obvious, but, what does she want?

After waiting a few seconds for everyone's attention to gather, She continues, "As much as I'd like to let you have your fun Sapph, Ruby, we need to have this conversation before breakfast."

Right….Haaaah

Yang then gestures for me to sit down, and I comply. My mentality is in a much better place now, and most of my panic has been flushed out of my system; All thanks to Ruby, but I refuse to forgive the red menace so that gratitude will stay within. I know I could try and run away, I'd likely succeed too, but I don't want to lose the family I was somehow able to find again.

But… What if I say too much and that pushes them away… I don't want that either.

While I was spiralling in my thoughts again, I suddenly felt a warmth in my right hand, startling me out of my head. I quickly turn my head to the corresponding side, and I see Ruby, who has once again managed to get close to me without my notice, sitting on my bed to my right.

She gently held my hand within both of hers, and steadily looked me in my eye. Somehow the look in her eyes gave me a sense of relief; like even if the world was to fall apart at my feet, she would be there to catch me and keep me from falling.

I wish I could believe that…

That what we have as a team would never go away…

That our fun-loving time here at Beacon will last forever...

But I'm afraid…

Afraid that it will all come crumbling down around us…

Will they be able to be there for me then…

More importantly, will I be able to be there for them…

I don't want to lose them, but...

It doesn't matter if I am willing or not...
