26 Let go

Dola was seating in her apartment in deep thoughts. She was thinking about that woman she have seen at Eder's house. Who was she? Could it possibly be a lookalike? But their was so much resemblance. Maybe it was a mistake. Thinking about it again, she had just seen the woman for a brief moment so she might have mistaken.

After a short while, their was a knock that disturbed her thoughts. She went to open the door. It was one of her men, the one she charged to look for information about Eder and his recent activities.

"come in Felipe, tell me what you found" she urged him. Once Felipe was inside, she closed the door, and came to stand in front of him.

"the Galann corp. just bought a new oil company together with the Quinn corp."

"who is the owner of the Quinn corp?"

"Dahlia Quinn"

"do you have any picture?"

"I am sorry but that woman is very secretive. It is difficult to even have a glimpse of her at particular events." Dola frowned. "she is a real mystery" Dola nodded. She will have to go there and see herself.

The next day, Dola went to the oil company. She took her time because she did not want to risk coming early and missing them. So she waited till at least 11 am before, getting their.

She went up to the CEO's floor. She met the secretary.

"good morning madam, how can I help you?" the secretary asked.

"I want to see Mr Galann"

"excuse me, do you have an appointment?"

"I don't need any." Dola said and started walking towards Eder's office following his scent.

"excuse me Madam, you can't go in." the secretary shouted behind her but she did not stop until she reached his office. "Madam, you can not go in. Mad-" before she could finish, Dola had already pushed open the door to Eder's office.

Eder was speaking with few men, when Dola barged in with an annoying smile. His expressions became dark when he saw her.

"I am sorry sir," Patricia apologized. Eder just waved dismissively at her and she left.

"we will finish this discussion later" he told the three men with who he was talking and they left.

Dola went to seat across of him and crossed her legs.

"what do you want?" Eder asked grimly.

"don't be this moody, son. You should be happy that your mother came to see you"

"stop your ineptitude. Why are you here?" Dola became serious.

"you know what I want." Eder stood from his seat and walked to the window. He was trying to hold back. Dola leaned back in her seat and watched her son.

"I will never go and meet this man. Forget about it and leave" He said after a short while.

"why? He wants to see you." she stood up and approached him. "he really regrets his past acts. Please Eder just go and talk to him. That'sall I am asking for " she pleaded.

"you really don't want to understand, do you?" he turned to her with narrowed eyes "that man and I have nothing in common to talk about. Whatever it is that he wants to say, I don't care" he carried so much hatred in his voice for the man that Dola wavered for a moment.

"you say you have nothing in common with him but he is your father. You have the same blood, Eder"

"shut up!" he growled

"you can't change anything about it"

"I said shut up!" he growled louder trying to hold back from loosing it and hurting her.

"me shutting up won't change anything. Neither can you-"

"I said shut up!" he caught her off guard. He caught her shoulders and pinned her against the wall. "I already told you, I don't want you or him in my life. Tell him and put this in your head, I don't want to hear of either of you ever again. Hope I am-"

"What are you doing!?" suddenly, Dahlia's voice echoed in the office. Eder froze but he did not release her. However, it did not escape Dola's notice that Eder's whole demeanor changed even though the hatred in his eyes was still there, vividly glaring at her.

Dahlia came from behind. It only demanded two seconds to her to understand the whole situation. she pressed her lips tightly together and held Eder's arm gently.

"let go" she said softly. Dola was sure that he would not listen. Seeing so much hatred in his eyes, he would need more than that. However, she was in for a shock when he let go of her.

While, Dola was recovering from her shock, Dahlia held Eder's arm, pulling him away from Dola. She did not let go because she did not want him to do something wrong. He was already pissed. Dahlia's gaze was on Eder before it turned to Dola.

When Dola finally caught her breath, she looked up and their eyes met. Dola gave her a weird look as if she had found something interesting.

"leave" Eder's dark voice, brought them both out of their thoughts.

"you will not elude it forever" she told him.

"leave!" he repeated.

"who are you?" Dola asked Dahlia ignoring her son.

"you should leave" Dahlia said coldly. Dola narrowed her eyes, picked her bag and left after giving Dahlia a last weird look.

When she was out, Dahlia returned her gaze to Eder. He was still in this same stiff position but with his eyes closed. She looked at his face for a while, she felt like she should do something but she did not know what. So she just decided to let him cool his mind.

As she was about to leave his arm, he suddenly let out a sigh and it felt like his adrenaline had just fell. He half-sat on the rim of his desk and Dahlia subconsciously held onto him as if he would fall. Without notice, he pulled her in his embrace and hugged her tightly. Then he buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaled her sweet unique intoxicating smell and then released a breath.
