14 Did you feed?

"there is only one person I want to receive hugs from" he said with a low voice causing her gaze to raise and meet his. They both felt those chills again. It was like their gazes created invisible sparks.

"listen." she started "I am really busy now and you better get back to work also or I will think you want to give me your shares of this company" she was threatening him and he could feel it.

Eder narrowed his eyes and looked more closely into her eyes. Then he noticed something. Though it was so very little and almost invisible but he saw it. She seem to be tired and for vampires, and as strong as her, to get tired it demanded a lot. He tilted his head to a side and asked.

"did you feed?"he asked out of concern but she glared at him hardly.

"my diet is none of your business. Now leave!" she ordered. He looked at her for a while and decided to leave her alone. He stepped back slowly, holding her gaze, until he finally turned and left.

Once he was gone, Dahlia put down her pen and rubbed her face in frustration. She needed to get him out of her life but how? She needed to calm down and think about a good plan.

Once he was out Eder went to his office. He tried to focus on working but he could not concentrate, he still had her face in his mind and her eyes… Patricia came in and gave him a document.

"have you seen Matt?" he asked. He haven't seen Matt after the meeting.

"after the meeting, I saw him walking towards the elevator. I can check for you"

"yes do that" Patricia then left. Eder went to work.

Matt on his side stood in front of the company's building. He had his arms crossed in front of him. He was looking in the distance with a contemplative look. He had just sent away a man who gave him few disconcerting information they have been looking for.

"Mr Silas?" a soft voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked back to see Patricia.

"Mr Galann wants to see you" she said and he nodded.

Freya was sitting in the cafeteria of her school with her human friends. They were busy chatting and laughing but her mind was else were.

"right Freya?" someone asked from somewhere.

"huh?" she did not even know what they were talking about.

"what is wrong Freya you are not in your usual mood" a girl asked

"are you perhaps having your periods?" another girl asked. If only she knew that she never had periods.

"yes. That's it." Freya lied. she never had period but she couldn't telle them that. "you know how it is. I will ask for a permission. I need to go home" she said and stood up. Yelia followed her out.

"what is wrong Freya?" Freya desperately wanted to confide in someone. She needed someone who she could explain her mixed feelings to but she could not. She could not even tell Yelia what she was much less tell her about the rest. She sighed.

"nothing. You heard what I said before. That's what is disturbing me. I will go now. See you" she then walked away feeling Yelia's gaze on her back. When she was finally out of Yelia's sight, she approached one of the vampires that worked for her sister.

"please take me home" she said with a straight face. The man looked at her a bit surprised but then he excused himself. He made a call and then came back to take her home.

Once she was home, she went straight to her room and laid on her bed. As she laid their she fell asleep without even knowing. When she opened her eyes again, the night was there. She took in a deep breath. She changed her clothes and went downstairs. She found her sister at her usual place.

"hi sis" she greeted.

"hi" Dahlia replied without looking at her. "what is disturbing you?" she asked still not looking at her. That was one thing Freya liked with her sister. She could tell when something was wrong. However, Freya was not sure how to tell her that she was feeling alone. So she tried to cover it up.

"I wanted to tell you that I was sorry for disobeying and lying to you. I was just so happy to finally have someone to talk to that I got carried away" she finally let out. Dahlia did not say anything. Was she contemplating what she said or was she thinking about something else? Freya couldn't tell. She was just so impossible to read.

"you can see him" Dahlia finally said. Freya's eyes opened wide.

"w-what?" she stammered wondering if she heard right. Dahlia gave her an exasperated look. "I can?" Freya smiled but with a bit of reserve. She wondered what could be her sister's motives "thank you" she said nonetheless. Dahlia only sighed.

"Dahlia are you alright?" Freya asked seating on the glass table facing her sister. Dahlia raised a brow at her. "you look pale"

"well, I am a vampire. Remember?" Dahlia said lightly and stood up then started walking over to the stairs.

"you know what I mean. You are paler than usual" Freya insisted, following her sister with a worried gaze. "did you feed?" Dahlia suddenly stop in her steps. Someone else had asked her this same question. She stood still for a short while before turning and giving Freya a hard look.

"I. am. Fine" she said and walked away. Freya stood their watching her sister walk up the stairs with a frown. What was wrong with her? When Dahlia reached the top of the stairs, she looked back at her sister.

"be careful with what you tell him" then she walk away. It was only when she was away that Freya snapped out of it. She went to find Emmett who was seating with the other guards in their quarters.

"Emmett?" she called and he stood up hastily to respond.

"miss, do you need anything?"

"no, I mean yes. Come with me" Freya did not want anyone to hear them so she walked him to a far place. Since they were all vampires they could hear but from here they would only if they eavesdrop and no one would dare.

"so tell me miss" Emmett asked patiently.

"what is disturbing you?"

"I wanted to know if something unusual happened to my sister" Emmett frowned,

"what do you mean?"

"I feel like she doesn't look well." Emmett's frown deepened.

"I did not notice anything. Besides, she did nothing unusual today." It was Freya's turn to frown.

"what do you mean, when you say she doesn't look well?" Emmett asked.

"she seem tired"

"tired? Maybe she just need to rest. That must be it" Emmett said.

"you are right. That must be it" though she was not convinced she said it so he would be reassured. Maybe he was right also but she was not sure and she did not want to raise unnecessary suspicions.

They then walked away, Emmett escorted her back to the mansion's door. She walked back to her room. However, she seemed to rethink and decided to check on Dahlia. She was in her room, seating on the couch near the window. She seemed to be out of space. Freya carefully walked into the room and approached Dahlia.

"Why are you here?" Dahlia asked with her back facing her. Freya did not have the time to reach her.

"I just… wanted to .. check on you" she said a bit hesitantly. Dahlia did not say anything for a short while, then she turned back to look at Freya.

"I am fine. I told you already." she said. Freya assessed her sister before judging that she seemed fine. She did not look tired.

"OK I will be in my room then." she said, waited a bit and left Dahlia alone in her room.
