2 The plan to run

Ookaim was sitting by her window thinking of a way out, many years ago she had tried to run way too by jumping out of her window and fly out of there. She ended up getting found later that day. Ookiam was in deep thought when she heard someone knocked on her door. She left her spot to open the door. Ookiam opened the door and saw mai. " Mai what are you doing here, don't you have the day off? " ookiam moved out of the way so that she could Inter " well ookiam, it is my day off but I thought it would be good if we got the chance to talk today " Mai closed the door " I have to talk to you about something important " Mai and Ookiam sit down on the bed " what is it Mai? " Mai looks at ookiam with a smile " I've been talking to silver and -" ookiam looks at her " Mai please don't try to stop me you know I'm not happy here, I love you all but I cannot stay " Mai holds Ookiam's hands and stops her " don't worry I'm not here to stop you, silver and I want to help you leave this place " Ookiam looks surprised " w-why? If you both get caught then it's all over for the both of you " Mai holds both of Ookiam's hands " I know you won't understand are reasons, but this is something that we both want for you. For most of your life you've been living with a lie, this isn't your home Ookiam". Ookiam looks down to the ground, " so do you know what happened to them " Mai looked sad and flopped her ears down " no I'm sorry no one knows what happened, the soldiers that went that day can't say anything because they are on tight watch " Ookiam was sad but she knew that she wouldn't get answers here " then let's get to work! " " that's the spirit! " Mai goes to the door and opens it and silver came in " for how long were you their? " silver had a box and put it it gently on the ground " not long I had to get some things for you when the big day comes" Mai helps silver get some of the things out. " what is all this ?" Silver holds out a map " this is what we need to get you out of here " he rolls out the map on the bed " this is a map of the castle, we are going to see what the best route is" Mai looks at ookiam and then circles around her " is everything alright Mai? Do I have something on my dress?" Mai stops and smiles " no you're dress is fine, I was just thinking that you can't really leave like this in a dress " ookiam looks down at her dress " well I guess not, but I don't have anything else " Mai's tail starts to wag and her smile get brighter " I know, that's why I'm going to make you one!" Silver looks that them both " that's a good idea, you to should go and check her measurements , I'll stay and look for the routes " befor Ookiam could say anything Mai grabs her arm and pulls her out the door while saying " think you silver!" The door closes and both Ookiam and Mai walk to the sowing room.

| After an hour |

" Uhh... Mai, what type of clothing are you making?" Mai concentrated on her work " well you can't exactly wear a dress when you run away. Ookiam looks away embarrassed " I guess that's true, I'm just not sure I've just never worn anything other then dresses" Mai keeps working on the shirt " you know ookiam , you can tell me what is truly bothering you. You don't have to make it about clothing" ookiam looks at Mai and smiles " I'm just worried, I'm the one next in line to be queen. I feel selfish just leaving my people with someone unfit to take my place." Ookiam sits down next to Mai and continues " don't get me wrong I love my stepsister , but she's just ....." Mai Interrupts " Ookiam, everything is going to be fine. I know your stepsister is a bit to much sometimes, but trust me everything will be ok. " Ookiam looks away but smiles " I hope you are correct" Ookiam looks out the window " how long have we been in here? It's already dark" Mai looks up in surprise " you're right we should get going, we have a big planing day tomorrow!" Ookiam and Mai start to put everything up and start heading back to ookiam's room. " Mai thank you for helping me do this " they both stop when they get to Ookiam's door " it is my pleasure Ookiam, I will always be here to support you and so will silver " Mai opens the door and they both walk in . Silver in sitting down at the balcony and looks back when he hears them " well you too took your time " Mai went up to him " sorry we just started talking and we didn't think about cheating the time , we're sorry " silver stands up and pats her head " it's fine we can go over everything tomorrow and get a better vision of the plan. Sound good ?" Ookiam looked at them both with sleepy eyes " yup sounds good " they all say their goodnights, silver and Mai both leave together ookiam gets ready for bed and gets in her bed. " tomorrow is going to be quite something huh.." she falls asleep.

| In the morning |

Mai rushes to the sowing room and begins to work on one of the outfits she wants to make for ookiam. One of the other workers walk in " good morning Mai you're here early " Mai looks up in surprise " oh good morning Lilith!" Lilith goes into her work space that is close by to Mai's space " what are you working on this early in the morning, let me guess a new dress for ookiam?" Mai looks up and smiles at her " nope, I'm actually working on making a shirt and pants! " Lilith stops what she is doing " for ookiam? You know the king doesn't allow it! " Mai looked up " don't worry it's not for her, my niece is turning 17 soon and I want to make her some outfits! " Mai hated lying to her best friend but she new she had to, Mai and Lilith started working again.

Ookiam was woken up by the sound knocking at her door " who is it ?" One of the maids came in " it's me princess, sorry for being late I have no excuse " the maid looked scared and bowed " please allow me to get you ready " Ookiam got out of bed and looked at the maid " you don't need to be afraid, I promise I'm not going to yell at you" Ookiam smiles at the maid and the maid stud up relieved " thank you my princess, now if you please follow me I have the best outfit in mind I think you would love!" Ookiam followed the maid to the closet and the maid pick out the dress " it seems like to day is going to be sunny but windy , so i think this would look best today " Ookiam walked closer to the maid " it's flowy and light so it's not too hot or too heavy, I love it!" The maid got excited and smiled " I'm glad you like it,I think this is one of my favorites that the sowing hall has ever made " the maid walked into the dressing room and put the dress in " thank you for your help Cathy " Ookiam walked in the changing room and closed the door while the maid gasped " its a pleasure working with you princess, now if you will excuse me one of the guards will come escort to the garden to have breakfast " Ookiam walked out dressed " thank you Cathy, you may go " the maid bowed and then left the room. Ookiam sighed and walked to her window looking out into the city. " Another day begins the same as usual " Ookiam heard footsteps coming closer to her door " 1 ... 2 ... and 3 " some one knocks on the door " it's time for breakfast my lady" Ookiam started walking to her door " I'm coming " she opens the door and they both go to the dining room. The king was already at his seat eating Ookiam tensed up as she sat at the dining table and started eating. Minutes later Xiel came in the room in a rush " you're late, Xiel " Xiel looked at grandfather " I'm sorry I had a hard time picking the my outfit for breakfast " the king put down his cup " what's the point of it if you can't even make it on time " Xiel bowed " forgive me, I'll be quicker tomorrow " the king stud up and left without a word as Xiel took her place across from Ookiam. Xiel watch the king leave be for she talked " isn't the point of being rich is to be able to dress nice" Ookiam didn't answer and Xiel got annoyed " what, let me guess grandfather's correct and you just want to are you just to prove your better then me" Ookiam finish her food and stup up and pushed in her chair but before she could leave Xiel quickly stood up and screamed " Answer me when I'm talking to you mutt! " Ookiam looked back at her and responded " no thank you " Xiel clenched her teeth as she watched Ookiam walk out the door.

Mai walked Next to Ookiam " is everything alright? " Ookiam sighed " I'm fine , it's just I hate being called a Mutt but I guess I just have to get used to it. It's what many people call me by." Mai stop and grabbed Ookiam's hand and looked her in the eyes " you do not have to get used to it and you will not get used to it! You are amazing at everything you do and you all ways overcome everything that comes to you. It's one of the biggest reasons why all the other kingdoms respect you, you are the kingdom's jewel." Ookiam and Mai laughed " Thanks Mai " Ookaim and Mai meet silver at the middle of the maze garden. Silver looked up " I was starting wonder if you two got lost." Ookiam sat down across from him " I get lost for fun, of course I know where I'm going " Mai sat down next to silver and laughed " you know Ookiam we used to spend hours looking for you " they all laughed. Ookiam look straight at silver " so I heard you got something " silver looked down and pointed at a corner of the blue prints " this is the way out you will be able to leave at this point at 3:57 in the morning when the guards switch places, but the bad thing is that this will not happen until two weeks from now " both ookiam and Mai look at him in shock. " w-wait but that would be on ookiam's anniversary with Gomi" silver quickly look over to Mai " wait really, if you wanna wait I can find another day so you can tell him then ookiam". Ookiam looked up from the map with a blank look " no, that would not be necessary." She look down " him and I are not together anymore" Mai looked surprised " but I thought the two of you were- " ookiam cut her off before she could say any more " he cheated on me, I saw him with Xiel a couple nights ago" silver looked at her with rage " well it's a good thing he's still coming back soon, I need a little chat " Mai slapped him on the arm " don't be stupid, the king will have your head if you do." Silver looked at her like a whimpering dog " why would you do that" Mai looked away embarrassed " don't look at me like that " ookiam couldn't help but laugh at them " you two couldn't look more like a couple " silver and Mai look over embarrassed. Ookiam calmed down a bit " you don't have to worry at all silver, I already took care of everything " they both looked at her confused " huh... what do you mean?" Ookiam laughed and did a thumbs up and proudly said " I kick him were the sun don't shine " Silver face lighted up and smiled " good job I'm proud of you kid! "

Mai gasped was she herd them and punch silver's arm " don't encourage this !" Both silver and Ookiam nervously laughed it off.

Two weeks pass by it's the day before the escape.

Mai was running as fast as she could. She was holding the clothing she was making for Ookiam in her hands.

She knocked on Ookiam's door and it opened a few minutes later by the king. He looked angry but in a sad way. After he left Mai came in and closed the door, she saw Ookiam was sitting by her window. " is everything alright, Ookiam?" Ookiam looked over to her cheeks wet from the tears running from her eyes. Mai quickly put the clothes down and went to Ookiam and hugged her. Ookiam patted her on the arm, " it fine it just, he caught me of guard, he's usually so cool to me" Mai was confused " w-what do you mean? Ookiam look her in the eye " well you know how maids talk and it was about to be sooner or later but he now knows the me and Gomi are over, he came over here and gave me sympathy " Ookiam looked away " it was scary, for something like this and knowing that I kicked him their he would have put me in my place and have me in the dungeon for a week"

Mai knows this was true, and she still remembered the day when it happened. It was a bright and beautiful day everyone was has happy, suddenly the gates swung open the king and his knights had returned. At the end two knight were carrying a cage with something or someone small. Mai was able to see what it was, a small child with no emotion, she looked like a husk.

Ookiam called for Mai

" are you alright Mai?" Mai looks at her a smiles " of course I am, I was just lost in my head that's all " Ookiam just smiled back " alright"
