1 Chapter 1 - Sisters

Amelia's POV

Today is the first day of school. This summer has been crazy. Amelia's best friend and father were taken by the men in black suits. Her mother hasn't even seemed like she was even grieving.

Amelia's alarm went off. She quickly moved her hand and shut it off then laid in bed looking up at the ceiling and sighed. She got up and walked slowly to her bathroom, still sleepy. Amelia turned on her sink and threw some cold water onto her face and looked in the mirror. Today was the first day of school. She put on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. She brushed her long brown hair and put it into a high messy bun. Amelia went out of the bathroom, grabbed her school bag, and went downstairs. Her sister Vera was sitting at the table eating some toast. Her mother was in the kitchen cleaning the dishes. Amelia smiled at her mother and told Vera jokingly to hurry up or they would be late. Vera shoved a piece of toast into her mouth and quickly followed Amelia out the door."Hurry up or you will be late Amelia!" she yelled, laughing. Amelia ran out of the door closely behind her.

"Ready for your first day?" she asked with a smile. "Of course I'm ready! It feels like I've been waiting forever!" They both raced to the bus stop. When they arrived Vera said hello to her best friend Evelyn. Evelyn was a nice girl. Kind, pretty, and resembled a somewhat pretty delicate princess. She had beautiful light blonde hair and always dressed nice. Amelia was jealous but also sad. She hadn't seen her best friend since months ago when she got a weird text saying don't trust them. run. She didn't know what it meant but was a bit worried since she hadn't seen her best friend again. She thought maybe she just ditched her or maybe her parents took her phone.

When the bus arrived Amelia sat down next to a boy with shorter dark-brown hair. He looked at her and smiled. "How was your summer, Amelia?" He asked cheerfully.

"It was… interesting" She answered quietly. She thought about the men in black suits. I'll find out what's going on, she thought. The bus arrived at school and Amelia went to find her sister. "You have a great first day now, okay Vera?"

"Of course I will Amelia! I have Evelyn in almost all my classes! I will see you at the end of the day!" Vera yelled as she ran off with Evelyn.

Amelia walked into school and stopped at her locker. She overheard some kids talking about how some of their family members had also gone missing. Weird, she thought. Why is everyone going missing? The bell rang and Amelia hurried off to her class. She got a smile on her face when she saw that Liam was also in her class. Liam noticed Amelia and ran and sat down next to her. Add something here

Soon, class ended and Amelia headed to classes and now it was lunchtime. She met her sister Vera, got their food, and headed for a table. Evelyn and Liam joined them. They talked about their summers and plans for this year.

"I'm gonna get a boyfriend!" laughed Vera. "I'm gonna focus on my school work," said Evelyn quietly.

"What do you wanna do Liam?" asked Amelia.

"I'm not too sure," answered Liam, with a smile on his face.

The rest of the day was a blur. Amelia and Vera walked home from school with Evelyn.

"I love school, Amelia! There are so many cute boys in my class." Blushed Vera.

Evelyn also blushed.

"Glad you had fun," Amelia said, as she wrapped her arm around Vera.

Vera waved to Evelyn as she went into her house but Amelia noticed there were men in black suits at her own house talking with her parents. That's weird why are they back?

"Hey, Vera, make sure to text Evelyn later to make sure she's okay, alright?" Vera looked confused but said "okay" and shrugged it off.

Amelia walked into her house and found her mom talking on the phone in the kitchen. Amelia hurried to her room and plopped herself onto her bed, dropping her backpack on the floor.

She sighed. "I hate homework."

Amelia got up and walked to her desk in the corner of her room. She pulled out her computer. Her fingers tapped the keys for what felt like hours.

She heard her mother yell up the stairs, "Amelia! It's time for supper!"

Amelia slowly trodded down the stairs. Vera was already at the table, her mouth stuffed with spaghetti. Her mother was also sitting at the table with Amelia's food to the right of her.

"Come sit down and eat honey." She smiled. Amelia sat down and ate quickly. She then nicely said "Thank you." and ran back up to her room.

Amelia jumped back onto the computer and searched men in black suits. Nothing came up. She searched a couple of other things but nothing came up about the men in black suits.

Maybe they work for the government? Amelia shut her computer and walked over to her bed. She slowly drifted off into a light sleep.
