Why Now?

"Something's coming... Ready your weapons.", the chief said.

The ground starts to rumble louder and louder. The whole village was all covered in green gas coming from the burnt papers. A group of bikers starts to jump over the gate and rode all over the place leaving bottles in front of every house.

Because of the loud noises, thick smoke, and bikers running around. Near got confused and tried to point the gun he is holding to a biker that had passed in front of him, but Jacob pushed his hand down.

"Not yet... Let's just let them do what are they doing, if they do something stupid, that's when we'll open fire.", the chief said. Because of the loud noise, Trevor didn't hear what Jacob was saying and started to fire.

He unintentionally shot the wheel of a biker making her lose control and fell over. Everyone became alerted and started pointing their guns into the thick cloud of smoke.

"I should have expected that this might happen.", the chief thought to himself.

"What the f*** are you doing you moron?!!", Near shouted to Trevor.

"But, Chief said 'open fire", he reasoned out.

"We were supposed to be waiting for them to do something stupid, not us.", Near shouted again. And the smoke is starting to thin out making it easier for everyone to see.

They saw someone lying on the ground with the bike over its body. The chief went and got close to it with caution.

"Hey? What are you doing?", Near whispered.

The Chief continued walking closer and upon closer inspection, he saw her legs are broken and stuck under the wheels, bleeding, and unconscious at the same time. The other bikers came in, circling them around with high calibered guns pointing at them. Two of the bikers got off and reached out for the other who fell. They took off their helmets and masks then tries to pull her away from the bike.

"Chief! Chief! Wake up! Chief!", said the girl with the black ponytailed hair.

Jacob tried to walk closer, but one of them fired at the front of Jacob's feet. "Stay back!", she said. The ponytailed girl broke the wheels and carries her on her shoulder, she barged in a house and laid her down on a bed. The other girl helps to tend her would for about an hour until the bleeding finally stops.

On the other hand, Trevor and the others are still on their position not being able to move away from where they stand until the ponytailed girl walked outside the house. She silently approaches them [Trevor and the others] and asked, "Who did it?".

But no one of them answered. She pulled out her gun and shot Jacob on the leg. He collapsed instantly to the ground and is not able to stand up. Emily runs towards him, ripped her leggings, and covered the sound on Jacob's leg. "What are you doing?!", she shouted.

"What did you do to our leader? If no one will step up, we might as well kill all of you right here...", all of them aimed their guns to their [Trevor and the others] foreheads. "...right...", and their fingered are already in the trigger ready to fire and kill them.

"Wait!!!", Trevor shouted. "It was me."

They focused most of their aims to Trevor. "You? Haha.", she laughed sarcastically and pointed her gun to Trevor's head directly. "Don't make me laugh."

"Wait! I am the one who did it.", Emily intervenes.

"So we're playing the 'I am the one who did it game'? Who else wants to join in?", she said.

"Stop this stupidity right now!", Jacob said but no one seen to listen. They continued arguing about who is the one who did it. "I said... STOP!!!", he shouted and everyone stops talking. "What you are doing is mere stupidity. I know what you are feeling right now but this argument will never change anything. Do you really think that killing the one who did it will actually reverse the damage that he or she caused?", he said.

"You think highly of your self to talk back to us. Who are you, you pathetic little boy.", saith by one of the girls.

He pushed Emily's hand away from his wounds and took of the fabric that's holding the blood and hold his leg around the wound. Then he started pressing the area around the wound and the bullet came off. His wound starts to close instantaneously. But he is still not able to stand straight, so Emily helped him stand by carrying him on her shoulder. "I... am...", when he is about to say his name, the door opened and another girl [The girl's leader] showed up leaning to the door.

"... Jacob Josephath, the leader of this village.", she said.

"Chief!", all of them said. Then she slowly falls down to the ground but the ponytailed girl grabbed her by the arm. "What are you doing here you should be resting...", she said to their leader. "... and you! Are you really that stupid? Why did you let her walk out of the room?"

Suddenly their leader slapped her in the face. "What's wrong with you? Stop acting like a child. This is my idea so don't get others involved in my stupidity if you want to accuse someone, it's my fault. I know that what happened to me is just an accident and no one really wanted someone to get hurt. So stop threatening our allies, especially their leader.", she said. Then she was sent back to her room.

The ponytailed girl went back outside. "You heard the chief. Guns down, let's call it a cease-fire.", she said. "But don't you get your hopes up, even if you were saved by our chief I can't handle even standing in front of you.", she said. On her way inside the house, she said one more thing. "... You just said that you know what I fell... You don't know what we've been through.", she said then finally enters the house.

Every one guarded the whole house. In total there are 16 of them who infiltrated the village including their leader. The ponytailed girl went inside the room where their leader was resting. "I have something to talk with the chief, you may go and guard with the others.", she said. Then as she and their leader was the only one in the room, she started crying. She ran then kneeled on the side of her bed. "You finally got to meet him after all these years.", she said then the ponytailed girl continued crying on her arms and she patted her hair.

On the other hand, Trevor and the others are down to the place where everyone was evacuated. "They are here!", a kid shouted as they approach. Everyone gathered up at the entrance. "What happened to Jacob?", the elder asked.

"Don't worry about me. I'm more concerned about you. Are you all alright?", Jacob asked.

"Yes, everyone's fine. Someone call the doctor.", the elder said. "Tell me, what's going on up there?", the elder asked. They all said everything that they saw as the doctor threats Jacob's leg.

"There is no need to worry, everything is alright. We all just need to wait until their leader shows up. For the time being, only a few were allowed to go up there. We still don't know what they are after.", Jacob explains. Then he talked to the doctor, "Doc, I also need you to threat someone.", then together with Emily, they went back up to tend the girls' leader's wounds, leaving Trevor and Near behind.

"Trevor, you're going to stay here. And help the others with Near.", saith the chief

"I know you want to know more about what's actually going on, but I think you saw that girl's impression earlier. On the other side, it would be weird for a guy who has nothing to do with are going in a house with girls inside.",

"Yes, but...",

"Please, stay here for a bit. We'll be back.", Emily said.

Then they all left and went to the house. As they enter, they saw that the front door is heavily guarded by four girls. They stopped them from approaching. "Why are you here?", one of the girls asked.

"We got our doctor here to help. Also, I want to see your leader.", Jacob said.

"Wait here.", she answered. Then one of the girls went inside and told the ponytailed girl, who's in the room with their leader, about Jacob and the others.

"What should we do?", the ponytailed girl asked their leader.

"Let them in.", she answered. Then they went inside and tended her wounds. They all had a little talk about the reason why they were there and the purpose of their sudden invasion.

On the other side, Trevor and Near helped everyone get set up. But Trevor was spaced out thinking about what just happened. Then a kid approaches him. "Are you okay?", the kid asked.

Trevor was a bit startled, "Ay! Uhmm... Yes, I'm okay. What is your name?", Trevor asked.

"I'm Lucas, Captain Emily told me that. You know something about the skies, and planets, and the stars.", the boy said.

"Yes, I was once. Are you interested in those things? Do you want me to tell you all I know about them?", Trevor asked the boy.

"Yes please.", Lucas excitedly answered. "Can I also call my friends?"

"Of course. Let's sit in a circle and show you the beauty of the sky.", Trevor invites. Almost all of the kids are circled around him listening to what he is saying.

"... Did you know that the sun is also a star?", Trevor asked them. Most of the kids are confused about what he has said then a boy raises his hand. "How can the sun be a star. It's so big, while the stars are so tiny?"

"Smart question. The sun is the closest star to us that's why it's so big, but if it were so far away. it will be a small star as we can see. We see the sun as the biggest star, right?", he said. Then everyone raises up the same answer. "Yes, yes, yes."

"What if I tell you that there are millions of stars bigger than our sun. And those suns also have planets as our sun does.", Trevor stated then some of the older ones started to join in. Then an elder guy asked. "How can you prove that?",

"The stars in our sky came in different colors right; red, orange, yellow, blue, white. Actually you can closely tell the size of the star by its color and brightness. If it is blue and bright, it could be thousands of times bigger than our sun. If it's red and dim, it could be smaller than our sun. But that still doesn't tell how far the stars really are. Computing the distance is far beyond my knowledge. And if there are millions of stars in the sky. We can expect that there are also different worlds in those stars.", Trevor explained.

"Like what?", a kid asked.

"A world that's only water. A world that's only gas. A world that is so hot. A world that is so cold. A world revolving around two suns. And many more.",

"So there can also be other humans out there.", a kid asked.

"That's the thing that is still can't be proven. But we can all agree that there can also be living things in other worlds but not humans.", Trevor explained."Actually some of those worlds are near to us. And by the word 'near' it means still can't be easily approached by humans but are still visible.". Then Trevor asked for a paper and a pen and drew the 9 planets. and then explain everything that he knows about them and it took about quite some time just for them to finished learning only about Earth and most of them seem to be entertained even the adults, but some doesn't even care about what he is saying even goes to the point where Trevor is being mocked silently.

"Why is that guy even doing here babbling nothing but gibberish.", "He only thinks he is so smart than everyone. Saying words that don't make sense.", "He is nothing but another weight in the back of the chief. And the fact that he is close to the chief, the major, and the captain really is surprising. He is up to something.", but Near overheard their conversation and as soon as Near gets closer to them, they start to separate themselves and continue what they were supposed to be doing.

And then Jacob and Emily went back with news on their hand.
