1 Chapter 1

Ruby

Ever since I could remember, I knew I could do magic, like you see in TV shows and movies, except this was real life and I am not getting paid to act like I can do it. I just do it. I guess you can call me, "Ruby the Witch". I found out I had powers after my parents had died in a car crash. I was filled up with so much rage and sadness, one day I just exploded. By that I  mean, a ball of light shot of my hand and caused a tree to explode in the woods. That is when my Grammie Anne told me that I was a witch and that I was destined for great things, and damn was she right. I was definitely destined for something.

I was picking out my outfit for the first day of my senior year of high-school. Thank goodness, that place is just awful if it wasn't for my two best friends Caspian and Ziva. I don't know how I would get through the day let alone four years there. I chose a pair of black capris and a light purple shirt and my black and white fake vans. I grab my bag and cars keys and head downstairs to the kitchen, where i can a big breakfast cooking. Grammie Anne also makes sure I have breakfast. As I sit down, Ziva and Caspian walk through the front door. 

They live next to me, so they always come over for breakfast, Grammie Anne also makes so much food there is always plenty for more people. Ziva sit down next to me and Caspian sits across me. "Ruby I like your shirt." Ziva said. "Thanks I forgot I had it. So you guys ready for out first last day of high-school?" I asked them. They both shake their heads "yes" while stuffing pancakes into their mouths. "I heard there is gonna be a new kid our class" Capsian said. "Hopefully this kid isn't a bitch or an asshole. Like literally everybody at our school" I said. "RUBY! Don't you dare use language like that in this house." Grammie Anne yelled at me. "Sorry Grammie" I said and finished off my orange juice and placed my plate and cup into the dishwasher. 

I looked down at my watch and said, "we better get going if don't want to be late". Ziva and Caspian place their cups and plates in the dishwasher, grab their bags and said thank you and bye to Grammie Anne and headed out to the door to Caspian truck. " Now remember Ruby no" I cut her off and finish her sentence, " no using magic public. Grammie, I am 18 years old now I have it controlled now thanks to you and I know better anyways. Love you" I said and gave her a kiss on her cheek and head out the door. 

I hopped in the back seat of Caspian's black Ford F-150 and say, "you really need to let us clean this dumpster you have us riding in since you won't do it". He replies back and says, "Hey now! I know where is if I were ever to need anything". I pick up and McDonald's bag and say sarcastically, "You need to know where this is". He just grabs and throws it back into the backseat again and we all chuckle. "I am so not ready to go back to this shit-hole of a school. I wonder if Scarlet is gonna come back after what happened last year." Ziva said. "I fucking hope not, that girl is a straight up bitch who is going to the 7th circle of hell. But then mommy and daddy will just try to buy the Devil off." I said. "Well damn!!! Tell us how you really feel." Caspian said jokingly. "Well you both know what she did to me last year, before her "accident" which probably wasn't real" I said to them.

We get finally get to the school, but as we pull up to the school we see a whole bunch of kids that we have no idea who they are. "I thought you said there was only gonna be one new student this year?" I asked Ziva. "That's what my mom told me" she replied back. Her mom is the head of the high-school, but not the principle. Caspian parks the truck and we get out and start to head to the school when we hear, "OH MY GOD". We turn around and see Scarlet running towards us, we at each other very confused and as I turn back to look at Scarlet she has arms out and looks like she is coming in for a hug. And she does. My eyes become wide open as she embraces me. I look over at Ziva and she looks just as confused. " So good to see you all" she said and lets go of me and hugs Ziva and then hugs Caspian. "Um, Scarlet are you feeling okay?" Ziva asked her. "Why, yes I am. Thank you for asking Ziva. This is gonna be the best year yet guys. As school body president I have lots of ideas planned for this years and can't wait to share them all with you." she says. She gives us all one more hugs and heads off into the school. We all just stand there in confusion. " Did she get a lobotomy?" I asked. "I don't why but like when she hugged me i got this calming sense of relief" Ziva said. We just shake it off and head into the school and to our homeroom.

Sadly Ziva, Caspian and I don't have the same homeroom. I walked in and saw the kids who are usually there and a new kid who was sitting in my seat. I walked over and introduced myself.
