Introduction

Germany, Cologne. A teen about 17 years old is waiting for the bus next to a couple of teenagers who seem to be discussing something.

The boy is wearing a black hoodie with some kind of inscription paired with black cargo pants and sneakers. Overall you would say he looked handsome.

The boy's name is Alexander Starwing or for short Alex. Currently he is listening to music while also overhearing the conversation that is going on next to him, as he has nothing better to do.

"bro the official release is tomorrow and I finally convinced my parents to buy me a helmet, had to sacrifice my birthday and christmas present but I know it's gonna be worth it"

"You are so lucky man my mum just won't buy me one no matter what I offered, guess I'll have to try and find a job but even then i'm gonna be so far behind man this sucks"

"seems like you are gonna be the only one of us who can't play because my stepmom bought me one as well did you already decide which class you want to play, they released a list of the starting classes I think im gonna play a Summoner it just seem so cool imagine you just watch as everything is killed by your summons and you just have to pick up loot"

Of course they were talking about God's Domain a new type of game though calling it a game is probably the wrong term as it's more like an alternative reality as you not only can chose to live a like a hero or just enjoy what this new world had to offer. The God's Domain is like nothing else beginning by the way to access it you have to use the Virtual Gaming Helmet a new type of device exclusively made for it. The only problem was they were very expensive costing 8000 Credits this is a lot for average citizen especially in poorer countries, luckly this isn't a problem for Alex as both of his parents have very high paying jobs.

After riding the bus and walking a bit he arrives at his home in a big villa, As he walks inside the living room he is surprised to see his 21 year old sister sitting at the dinner table typing something on her laptop.

walking up to her he says"Joanna??? I thought you were supposed to be on a trip with mom to this port in Spain?"

She looks over saying" oh hey lil bro, yeah but an emergency came up at another project and she had to attend a meeting so they could figure out how to solve the issue we delayed our visit but it's not that bad I've some uni stuff to do anyways by the way there's still some pasta in the fridge, how was school?"

while taking out his food he answers "boring as always at least it's finally weekend and it's a long one as well Monday and Tuesday we won't have to go to school as the 13th grade takes their A-Levels"

As she stands up and goes to the fridge to get a drink she complains "As if that matters to you you are gonna play random games for the whole time anyways and whenever we want to do something with you ur just gonna say it boring and go back to your room"

As he finishes up his food he lazyly answers "not my fault everything becomes so boring "

That was one of Alex's biggest problems he tried many different sports and hobbies but he was always becoming bored after a while once he had become good at it be it football, climbing or even martial arts. He is quite good at all of them as he learns very fast and is quite smart. Gaming was the one thing he was consistently doing, sure he was playing many different games but you could say it's his only hobby at the moment.

After going upstairs to his room he throws his schoolbag in the corner where it belongs and switches his cargo pants for more comfortable sweatpants then he grabs a cold bottle of ice tea from his minifridge and lays down to check social media as expected his feed is full with God's Domain related posts as everyone is hyped about it.

Ding.

he notices a message from Frank "yo are u home yet i'm gonna be on in like 15 minutes just join me I got some exciting news"

Alex then watches some videos and showers as he knows 15 minutes in Frank's time are at least 30 minutes in real time, Frank was his best friend they met each other on a school trip as both of their schools went to the same youth hostel on their class trip in grade 7. They bonded almost instantly and Alex still doesn't really understand why as normally it takes him very long to do that but it seems there is just something about Frank's personality that he really likes as he is a very positive guy who gets excited about everything no matter how small.

15 minutes later he joined in a Voice call with Frank and they started playing the newest type of a 5 versus 5 Fps shooter while talking casually about random things, at some point the conversation drifts towards God's Domain with Frank finally remembering what happened today so he excitingly begins "Alex it took forever but it came today my helmet is here I was afraid it wasn't gonna be there for launch and some of my old friends hit me up to join there guild it's an official third rate guild called Risen United i'll join it I think bet you could join as well."

Silently contemplating after some time Alex answers "Nice man but I'm not gonna join a guild for now you know me more of a solo but maybe later on I'll join you a third rate guild sounds promising could help you develop early on but only if they care about you so ur gonna have to try hard."

"trust me bro I know this is my chance I'll use it and maybe I can try and make a living out of it I've heard rumors saying that a lot of big corporations have their eyes on God's Domain and if even they are interested that means there's a lot of money to be made."

They continue to play until Alex gets tired and goes to bed his last thought before he slips into the dreamland being
