30 New Policies

"Your Royal Highness, a total of 316 nobles were stripped of their noble titles and slaughtered according to your orders." Commander Vince, dressed in the Assyrian trademark silver armor, reported to Alexander, who was seated on the throne in his palace, respectfully.

Duke Oliver stood close to Alexander, who was seated on his regal throne. His handsome face contorted into a frown as he thought deeply.

Alvin, the white-haired three-star mage and also the strongest combatant in the entire Assyrian kingdom, was also present in Alexander's palace, alongside Agnus, the powerful commander well known for his brute strength in the Assyrian military.

"Is that all?" Alexander asked calmly, his azure irises staring right at Commander Vince's own as he reported the progress of the task that was given to him.

"Ten nobles managed to escape our soldiers attack, including General Kali, Viscount Bellamy, and his son." Commander Vince reported in a low tone, clearly dejected at not completing the task given to him by Alexander.

"The five nobles you spared also ran away with the majority of their properties. As it stands now, the only noble in the entire Assyrian kingdom is Duke Oliver." Commander Vince concluded his report, his head bent low in dejection.

Alexander remained silent after hearing Commander Vince's report; his blue eyes furrowed as he thought.

"General Kali, huh?" Alexander muttered rhetorically in a low tone.

When he first transmigrated to this world, he remembered that General Kali was the one who persuaded the former Alexander to participate in the battle for the defense of the castle walls.

At first, Alexander did not find anything wrong with General Kali's reasoning, but after conducting proper research on all the prominent citizens of Assyria, he easily reached the conclusion that General Kali was a bad egg.

It had been 18 hours since Alexander ordered a full-on massacre of the deplorable Assyrian nobles, and without any suspense, such a seemingly insane order infused chaos and disorder in the kingdom.

Alexander already had the Assyrian military in his grip, which of course meant that both Vince and Agnus were now his trusted subordinates; therefore, they fully followed his orders without delay.

Moreover, after the battle at the castle walls, the Assyrian soldiers now had full trust in Alexander, and this also included Agnus, who had his life saved twice by the engimatic [Health Potion] Alexander administered to him.

As for Alvin, Alexander could tell that the white-haired mage really cared for him, as he was the kindest to him when he first transmigrated into this world. Also, he did not know if his mind was influenced by the previous owner of this body, but he could feel that he subconsciously trusted Alvin.

As such, the four people currently present in his palace were the only people in the current Assyria he trusted enough to grow Assyria into an S-rank empire with. Alexander had only briefed Duke Oliver about his plans for Assyria, so the three people, Alvin, Agnus, and Vince, were still in the dark about Alexander's plans for Assyria. As a result, when Alexander instructed Vince and Agnus to slaughter the majority of the Assyrian nobles, they thought he had gone mad.

Notwithstanding the fact that Vince and Agnus, most especially Agnus, bore a lot of hatred for the nobles due to their ill actions against the citizens and the way they looked down on the soldiers that bled to protect them while they wined and dined in their luxurious manor, it did not warrant a large-scale massacre of the nobles.

This was until Alexander told them that the majority of the heinous crimes that the Assyrian nobles had committed were hidden from their eyes.

The moment Alexander informed the two commanders of their heinous crimes, they immediately ceased hesitating, and in their burst of fury, they dutifully followed his orders to the last detail.

As to how Alexander found out the crimes that were hidden from their eyes, it was due to his meticulous research on the nobles heinous crimes and some of his wit. He bribed the majority of the guards in the manors of the nobles with a gold coin each, and it worked wonders.

The guards spilled every single thing they knew, and coupled with his above-average intelligence, with which he deduced the absent information he received from the bribed guards accurately, Alexander was able to find the crimes that were hidden from the public eye.

"Your Royal Highness, I am extremely sorry for my incompetence. It is our fault that we let Viscount Bellamy and his fellow vile nobles escape." Commander Vince apologized in a regretful and dejected tone.

"It is alright. You all have done well." Alexander praised him in a sincere tone as he alighted from his regal throne and walked over to where Commander Vince stood dejectedly before patting him heartwarmingly on his armored shoulder.

"Duke Oliver, Gather all the able-bodied citizens in the Assyrian town hall and tell them that Crown Prince Alexander Quinn will address them in the next thirty minutes." Alexander ordered abruptly, turning his gaze to where Duke Oliver stood close to his throne.

"I know that they are feeling a lot of unrest at the moment due to the large-scale slaughter that recently occurred, so it is up to me to calm them down." Alexander spoke in a calm tone, his hand still resting on Vince's armored shoulder.

"I understand. I will see to it immediately." Duke Oliver said curtly before making his way out of the crown prince's palace to complete his task.

Alexander was unbothered by Oliver's curt reply. He was reticent in nature after all, only opting to talk when it was necessary. Even though he became quieter after signing the blood pact with his blood, Alexander knew that he would never entertain thoughts of leaving Assyria anymore.

"Alvin, prepare the royal court hall. There would be another royal court meeting immediately after I address the citizens of Assyria." Alexander ordered Alvin right after Oliver exited the palace.

"Another royal court meeting?" Alvin asked skeptically, a doubtful expression appearing on his face.

Although Alvin was greatly surprised at the crown prince's sudden change in personality, he did not think too much of it and easily accepted it. He was very proud that the crown prince was now trying his very best to grow Assyria.

As for the nobles deaths, Alvin did not care a tiny bit about the greedy nobles. He only cared for Alexander; therefore, he did not feel an ounce of sympathy for the pitiable plight of the nobles.

"Yes." Alexander replied as a mischievous smile made its way onto his handsome face.

"Your Royal Highness . . . " Alvin started to complain, but seeing the mischievous smile on the crown prince's face, he shelved the argument that was forming in his mind and let out a sigh instead.

"Don't worry, Alvin. Although only the four of you will attend the meeting, I promise you that the meeting will be one that will be passed down in Assyria's history books for generations to come." Alexander smiled sincerely, and Alvin, when faced with such a brilliant smile, had no choice but to agree to the crown prince's orders.

"As you wish, Your Royal Highness." Alvin acquiesced, a reluctant expression on his face.
