Baby Steps

After being reincarnated to a new world I find myself as a new born baby. With my past life memories I have a mind of a twenty-five (25) year old lady in an infants body. Even though I know how to speak I couldn't because my vocal cords are not used to it so I just end up screaming, crying or babble for attention like a normal baby would.

After five (5) months of getting used to my new body I would secretly try to talk and move when no one is looking, I did not want to alarm anyone just in case someone sees me so I am very careful to not let anyone see me, I would always try to sneak away from the maids to practice speaking and walking.

By secretly being active I found many new thing regarding the world I was reincarnated in and seems like it's not that like of modern society back at Earth where cars and mobile phones where common here I found the worlds name was Gaia and it seems it still in the middle ages era where couches are used for transport and messages where delivered by hand written letters. It also seems the way of ruling is by Royalty and not voted like Presidency.

At six(6) months old I start to understand this worlds language, I came to understand that I was born as the next person in line for throne in our small country called "Nubsun". Aside from our small country there are two other countries far larger and richer than ours called "Rogue" located to our North and "Zekulek" located to our South. It seems that the power struggle between the two countries has left us in quite a dark place since we were at the center of both Empires and both sides are asking us for power support to wage war between both sides. Since it's a three way power struggle our country being the smallest of the three could not simply take a side because it will put us at disadvantage when a winner is named and we will end up losing who ever we choose. Although it is a cold war it still may lead to invasion.

I find it interesting when my mother Sapphire would tell me stories of our small and fragile kingdom. Although we are royals we can never compete with the other great countries beside us.

The more my mother tells stories I find Nubsun as a very appealing country, it had a very different power system than the other countries and mostly invest on scholars and knowledge making it not as easy to bully by the other countries. Much to my surprise this world Gaia allows people to have magic although it is rare most people in royalty have them so I hope that when I come of age I can use them as well. Magic here are considered as a gift and talent on cannot simply 'learn' it one has to be born with it.

Hearing all kinds of stories from my mother throughout my stay I found many interesting things about her. Mother Sapphire is actually the fifteenth (15th) Empress of Nubsun meaning me being her first born was next in line for the throne, although usually males where supposed to take the throne here in Nubsun it seems we care more for the Empress and Princess. To my surprise we didn't have a king or emperor but instead consorts and we can have multiple of them it seems and I heard that my father was a consort from a small Beast Village of Zekulek but even so my mother got angered of his betrayal and ended up beheading him before I was even born. Although we have a culture of women comes first in royalty in the other countries Rouge and Zekulek it was the other way around so Emperor and prince first.

At seven (7) months old I have already started to walk without the support of any walls. I would sometimes sneak out of my room and go to my mother's study to read some books and scriptures. I learned that there are five types of magic in this world namely Fire, Water, Earth, Light, and Negative.

A person would usually have a great affinity towards one of the magic element and having more than one element makes you that grater of a magic user. Fire, water and earth are the most common magic to have as a magic user and there has only been tree people recorded to have had the light element and one to have the negative element. Records show that only about 7% of the world population has magic and most of them belong to the upper class. It seems that even has magic that does not entitle them to be royal or with power so there are some who even though they were living in the slums would have magic but that was a rare case.

Aside from magic It seems like this world was like a fairytale land where many things exist that I never would have thought to really exist it's like I am in a RPG world where beast men, fairies, elves, goblins, etc. exists.

As I was so immersed in my reading I got startled when someone yelled from behind me.

"Ahh!!" my maid Bea screamed with shock and delight on her face. And I realized that I was standing upright with good posture caring a heavy book that I should obviously have a hard time lifting yet I carry it with ease.
