18 My pokemon!

Taking cover behind Parker, Volkner was watching the battle from a safe place.

"Vanessa, help me!"

"Roger! Pidgey! Sand Attack!" Vanessa commanded, Pidgey approached at high speed throwing sand at the enemy.

Sera joined the conversation. "Ekans, use Wrap!" Vines came out of the ground and pinned the Mewoth to the ground while its companions dealt with the other pokemon.

Parker commanded. "Spearow use Peck!" Spearow jumped on top of Mewoth taking advantage of the fact that Mewoth couldn't see.

While Seera was attacking the Mewoth from the front, Ray, Parker and Vanessa attacked the fox from behind.

They adopted this strategy because sera's pokemon could immobilize some pokemons for a while, even use the poison skill, and the rest Ray attacked with his ratata with relatively low health and defense of mobs.

The Mewoth moved quickly from place to place. It dodged the pidgey's attacks with little damage, and the tail attacks when it suddenly swung around were sometimes critical enough to make it recoil.

Mewoth was level 10, much stronger than their pokemons and much faster too.

With little speed in the attacks, it often became the only option to immobilize him or poison. Then Vanessa would order to end her life.

They're not bad.

The quartet's teamwork was emphatic.

They did not covet cheap items, nor were they irritated by small things. It seemed to him that the chemistry between his teammates had built up over time. Perhaps they teamed up in another online game before migrating to Royal Pokemon Online.

Still, they had to increase the tension while hunting a level ten Mewoth.

Cartepie and weedles were easy hunting, anyone could handle on their own with relative ease. But a Mewoth was tough, to say the least.

Volkner easily noticed that this group was focusing on Meowth on his hunting spree. He watched the battle taking place for a while - until he thought he had seen enough.

His keen eyes analyzed the Mewoth's movement patterns.

It's easier than I thought.

They outplayed their enemy four to one. The way a Mewoth moved was a little fast but predictable as far as he could see. He watched until he gained enough confidence. Then he took hold of the iron sword and climbed out of the cover.

Seera smiled at Volkner who was coming up beside her.

"Careful, Volkner... Don't kill and capture him"

"Yea." Her answer was too short.

Her radar monster was once again a Mewoth.

"I'll get her attention first Volkner, you attack later with the Pokeball. Like when you're almost dead, it's more efficient"

Seera gave a command to her ekans that jumped on the pokemon. Ray, Parker and vanessa showered sand and peck attacks on their victim.

When Mewoth's health dropped to a third, Volkner stepped in.

He had little experience of battles previously in VR games, but he was familiar with real sword fights through hundreds of duels. Furthermore, he had hit the scarecrow tens of thousands of times.

The iron sword drew a bright white streak in the air in a split second. At the end of the gaudy semicircle was the Mewoth.

Volkner had timed the attack so precisely that the Mewoth couldn't even try to avoid it.

『CRITICAL HIT!』

A message window that was only visible to Weed appeared. Critical hit!

This only appeared when the damage was doubled as a result of an effective attack, the result of exquisite timing.

The Mewoth was thrown to the ground and Volkner quickly threw the Pokeball, so the Meowth disappeared in the blink of an eye and only a Pokeball was left on the floor swinging.

Swing.

Swing.

Swing.

『Capture successful, congratulations you got a Mewoth Shiny.』

Next to the Pokeball were two items and a skin. In Pokemon Online, even if you catch a Pokemon, it will still drop items as a drop.

You can turn meat into steaks by cooking over a campfire, and fox fur is one of the most commonly used materials for clothing. This kind of production process requires related skills. Beginners rarely learn skills like cooking and sewing. Most of the time, these items are destined to end up on a shelf at the nearest supermarket.

"Great move! You got lucky this time."

Smiling, Seera collected the items.

"Friend, we will distribute items among us when the hunting mission is over."

"All right." Volkner nodded.

"Then I'm going to attract another fox. Everyone, get ready."

"OK. Bring a Meowth full of items again."

"Shoot. I wish it were up to me," Seera muttered comically.

Seera fought hard as a Mewoth moved quickly. Parker and Ray pressured the cat persistently.

Volkner's iron sword began to move when the Mewoth had 20 percent health remaining. The sword slipped out of its scabbard and struck the cat like lightning.

swish

Luckily, the cat didn't drop any items this time, not that items dropped by ordinary cats were of great value.

For the third cat the sword kicked in with fifty percent of its life remaining.

A critical hit failed this time, so the cat survived Volkner's first attack. It was followed by a sequence attack that flowed like liquid. The dead Mewoth left only one item.

"What?"

"Sounds weird."

"We're chasing cats faster."

"When Volkner attacks them, they almost always die."

A few Mewoth later, his other teammates detected the pattern.

Since Volkner joined the group, the pace at which they were hunting the cats increased. As soon as he drew his iron sword, the Mewoth were helplessly slaughtered. They disappeared in a flash of gray as Volkner swung his sword.

"What! this is really cool!!"

Pale's mouth dropped open, planning to stay there for awhile. Because volkner killed mewoth so quickly, Seera was busy admiring everything happening.

Even if Parker didn't bother shooting arrows, the pace of the hunt hardly slowed. This seemingly inexplicable situation in the eyes of everyone in his group was attributed to Volkner.

Initially, Volkner received 5 points in strength upon activating his account, plus 5 points he got from the Training Center. As a result, his strength and agility were 2 times better than normal humans. And with his sword that did 2 more strength and 10% damage and 10% speed.

Most notably, Volkner's agility, stamina, willpower, and vitality were far beyond what they should have been in his phase of the game. He would need to train a lot in the game to achieve his current physique, but he achieved it all with sheer effort in the Training Hall!

Volkner alone rivaled an average LvL 10, that was without superior equipment.

A more surprising fact was that he advanced his sword mastery to level three while striking the scarecrow. This translated to 15 percent more damage dealt to the enemy.

Volkner's current sword mastery level was three plus 98 percent. Once he reached level five, the effect on attack power would increase to twenty percent. Last but not least, the iron sword the instructor had given Volkner was something of a powerful luxury compared to his level. In short, a Mewoth was no match for Volkner.

Of course, Volkner didn't achieve these feats alone. He took advantage that some mobs were blinded by the Sand Attack, or that they were poisoned by ekans.

"This sword must be a unique item."

Parke was immediately suspicious. Otherwise, they couldn't find an adequate explanation for Volkner's unusual strength. They were still rookies, so they couldn't see how Volkner knew how to get in at the right moment.

Even when he hit a few arrows, it didn't have the same effect or damage to the mob, Parker was very suspicious.

In battles in virtual reality online games, because they are based on real-time movements, a martial arts maniac is obviously better positioned than a clumsy one.

Volkner utilized the sword techniques he had been training for all year, right down to the trivial-looking footwork that was invisible to the untrained eye. They simply believed his sword was superb.

"Great."

Excited, Seera lured Mewoth one by one at a time, trapping and poisoning them all as they were stopped by Ray's rat.

Volkner gripped the iron sword tightly. He was in a good mood because the sword techniques he had examined and learned were proving productive.

'I also got my first pokemon' Volkner smiled excitedly. He hasn't checked yet, but he's never seen on the forums or anyone commenting on something like shiny pokemon or shiny Mewoth.

'I should investigate this'
