Moving Out Or In?

Walking out of Jack's meeting room, I tapped the circular object that was in my pocket.

'Really hope I don't need to use this... God programs from what I heard in past news articles are quite literally Gods for omnics. Mason's memories are getting foggier for some reason too so I don't know much about them.' I thought as I closed the door.

'From what I read God programs are pretty much programs gone wrong, which then self develop itself so it can take over nearby electronics to worship them, or do their biddings.' I walked down the hall completely ignoring everything around me.

With a complicative look my face I stared down at my boots as I began to walk towards my shared room. Walking for a few more moments I felt something grab my cloak and pull me backwards.

"Eeeh!" I shouted out as I landed on my butt. 'Who did that!' I angrily thought as I looked up to see Lena.

"Love, I've been trying to get your attention now for a good minute. What's on your mind? Did Jack yell at you or something?" Lena stared down at me as I laid there on the floor.

Seeing Lena, my anger disappeared slightly as I gave her a light glare. Choosing to answer her question I sat up.

"No, Jack didn't yell at me, I was just given a... umm another task! Pretty much Jack told me that because I'm now one of the fastest people in Overwatch, that he had given me an extra mission."

Lena continued to stare down at me as she raised her eyebrow. "Hmm well if you don't wanna talk to me about it, how about we go back to our room and watch something on the tele?"

I grinned slightly and thought 'Anything to get my mind off of this.'

Raising my hand for Lena to pull me up, I saw her reach down and raise me up no problem. "Whoah, I still don't understand how you pack all of that muscle." I said amazedly.

Lena began to walk away motioning me to follow but then chuckled. "Heh, like you can talk. You can swing that big Scythe around when I can barely pick it up. It's worse than Reinhardts hammer!"

"Haah?" Gasping in disbelief I put my hand over my mouth. "You can't disrespect Crescent Rose like that! She is just a little... top heavy."

Lena began to laugh, and soon after her I joined in as well. Slowly but surely we began to walk again and talk about the upcoming mission until we made it back to our dorm.

Checking my clock I saw we had the rest of the evening to do whatever we wanted, and I know that I wanted to try progressing my semblance. I had a feeling that I can do more with it after my aura grew, so that's the plan.

"So love, what movie you want to watch?" Lena asked me but then hit her head with the side of her fist. "Ohhh yeah, never mind I forgot you aren't from here... Hmmm how about this one!"

Shaking myself out of my thoughts I saw Lena scrolling through movies on the TV. Scrolling quickly she pulled up a movie that looked like a zombie movie, but it was called Junkenstein's Revenge.

'Wait a minute have I heard of this before?' I thought only to decide I haven't. "So what is the movie about?" I asked Lena as I searched for my cookie stash that I hid in the room.

"Hmm well it's about this totally crazy scientist who tried taking over this old timey kingdom using zombnics. Or well zombie Omnics for the less cultured." Lena began to explain the movie as I made my way back with a large bag of cookies.

Smiling I gave her a thumbs up and began munching on the cookies. "Mhm shmowds ghood toh mwe." I spoke out with difficulty as I ate my cookies with great vigor.

Lena nodded and began to play the movie. Plopping down on her bed I sat next to her as we watched the movie. Time passed by as I snuggled into my cloak eating cookies, while enjoying the movie.

Lena had a similar idea as she grabbed her blanket and pulled out some snacks for herself, which was some sort of candy. Occasionally we would trade sweets and talk about how dumb one character was.

About 2 hours later I had a sudden thought as I watched the movie credits scroll down the screen. Sitting up some I turned to Lena and asked "Hey is there Starwars here?"

Lena raised a questioning glance as she tried to think of it until a look of recognition appeared on her face. "Phhh, you mean that movie from like almost a hundred years ago?" Lena laughed out.

"Wha- Hey! The movie is actually really good, even though they are a little long... But they are still top quality!" I told Lena as I pouted slightly to Lena's increasing laughter.

Lena finally stopped laughing and began to pat my head. "Yeah yeah, don't worry Red we can watch it after the mission."

Glaring slightly I got over it and chuckled slightly. "As long as it's not this movie again. Don't get me wrong it was a good idea, it was just... Boring."

Lena deadpanned and sent a mock glare at me. 'Not so nice making fun of movies anymore huh?' I thought as I finally stopped snuggling in my cloak. Sitting up I did a stretch and got out of the bed.

Taking a glance at me straightening my cloak Lena chose to ask a question.

"I always wanted to know love, what's with you wearing that raggedy cloak? Don't get me wrong it looks amazing, but you wear it everywhere."

Listening to her question I lightly brushed my cloak with my hand. "Well, my Mom gave it to me. She had one just like this but it was silver. She got this for me when I was really little, I remember it was way too big at first. But I grew into it, and now its just natural for me."

Looking once more at the cloaks bottom I then murmured "But I guess it can use some patching up at one point or another..."

Taking my answer Lena smiled and gave me an understanding look. Smiling slightly I chose to pose my question from earlier as well.

"Soo how do you claim the training rooms here? I kind of want to work on my semblance?"

Lena pulled out her phone and tapped a couple buttons and then raised it to me.

"Pretty much you should have been given an app for it. I claimed the room for about 1 hour and 30 minutes just now." Lena showed me her app screen for Overwatch.

Pulling out my phone I searched for it, only to frown slightly. "Hm I guess I will get it later, anyways let's go train for the upcoming fight! Feel free to join me, but I might not be very responsive as I am going to do something my friend taught me."

*Flashback*

Thinking back to a time I saw Li Ren meditating I had a flash back. I was approaching a perfectly still and calm Ren, who was sitting on top of a rock outside of Beacon.

Walking up to him I decided to ask what he was doing. "So Ren, whatcha doing?" I curiously asked.

Ren opened one eye and then closed it again. "I am meditating, it is actually very useful in picturing ones Aura or Semblance."

Ren then patted the spot next to him. "Here join." He said leaving no room for negotation.

'Uhhh, oh well.' I thought as I decided to sit just like he was. Shuffling slightly to get into a comfortable position I then asked "Now what?"

"Close your eyes, and try to think back to a time where you have been most at peace."

I did what I was told and began to think back to a time I was most peaceful. Breathing in and breathing out I waited for the next steps.

Ren opened his eyes to check my aura and then calmly said "Now then, picture your aura. Imagine it as an object or something you can relate to. Mine is a lotus."

'An object...' I thought as I heard Ren's explanation. Trying to imagine an object I thought back to a simple rose. Nodding slightly I waited for what's next.

"Now, breathe in and flare your aura. Watch as whatever your picturing glows with power. Then breathe out and watch it dim."

Breathing in I watched as a small rose in a whitespace began to glow red. Petals drifted off of it with great energy. Then breathing out I watched as the petals slowed down and dimmed. Dancing slowly off of the rose.

Ren looked over and saw that I no longer needed any instructions, he then closed his eyes and began to join in with me.

*Flashback Over*

Lena looked at my glazed over eyes and poked me. "Oi love, come on we gotta get to the training room."

'Oh yeah!' I excitedly thought as I responded. "My bad, I was lost in thought for a moment. Anyways lets go!"

With visible excitement flowing off of me in the form of rose petals, I dashed out of the room and towards the training rooms. Lena kept up with me as we made our way to a small training room, that looked similar to a small gym.

Lena walked up to the glass doors, and then held her phone up to a small rectangle on the door. The doors suddenly opened up and Lena motioned for me to follow her.

"Alright love, I will let you do your own thing right now. How about after your done we do a little sparring match?" Lena asked as she began to stretch slightly.

"Hmm alright. Well you enjoy your part, I am going to be over here in the corner doing some mediation." I told Lena as I made my way past multiple work out stations.

Passing my weights, treadmills, and a small boxing arena, I then came across a yoga corner. Shrugging my shoulders I sat down on one of the squishy pads and tried getting comfortable.

Slowly I breathed in, and breathed out as I tried to picture a time I was truly calm. Racking my memories I soon came across one that put me at peace.

Inhaling I slowly flared my aura, then exhaling I let my aura decrease. I repeated this process as I visualized my aura. Normally my aura would only be one rose, but this time it is a whole patch of them.

'My aura really did grow a lot... A lot more than I thought.' I thought as I let my aura flare and then calm down again. Slowly but surely I entered a rhythm where I was imagining a rose patch which had drifting petals.

An imagined breeze blew these petals with more ferocity when I flared my aura, and then returned to a calm and slow drift afterwards. Picturing my semblance I remembered all of the training that I had done, all of the things I had trained for in Atlas, and how my semblance progressed.

Time passed as I tried doing anything, picturing anything, to see if my semblance would change. Imaginary rose petals would drift with great ferocity, and then calm down. Every time I flared my aura the rose petals would get more aggressive.

Rose petals which drifted in the imaginary breeze soon turned into a hurricane of rose petals every time I flared my aura. A sea of red petals soon covered my mindscape, drifting beautifully in the air.

'This... Is sooo cool' I thought as I imagined the sea of red petals to move to my will. Surprisingly or unsurprisingly only a small hand full of rose petals followed my will.

I repeated this process of trying to make the rose petals move to my will for quite some time. Long enough for the room I was actually sitting in to soon be covered by a storm of rose petals.

Lena who was watching me this entire time, grew enamored as she watched more and more rose petals drift off of me. "Whoahhh..." Lena muttered out as rose petals began to drift off of me with every breath I exhaled.

"This is amazing..." Lena stared in disbelief as rose petals drifted off of Ruby. Each time she took a breath more of them fluttered off of her. But unlike normal, they weren't fading away from existence after a few seconds, but instead accumulating.

Inwardly I was having a little to no success in moving the petals. I tried imaging the wind pushing them, I tried yelling at them, and I tried... becoming the petals themselves. Nothing was really working until I just sat there and let them do there own thing.

In my mindscape petals calmly fluttered around me. Falling from everywhere like a torrential down poor of red petals they drifted in circular motions around me.

Moving my hand the rose cloud flowed suit. Watching the petals drift, I tried to maintain this Zen state.

Willing or kindly asking the rose petals to converge on me, they listened and soon covered me fully, leaving nothing but petals behind. In my mind scape it was as if I was using my semblance to travel at high speeds, but my vision was skewed.

I could see in an almost 360 degree angle, and I wasn't moving fast also. Looking down I tried to find my body but all I found were red petals, drifting wherever I moved. 'This is awesome!' I excitedly thought as I drifted around as a cloud of rose petals.

Sadly though I was broken from my state of mind, as suddenly I noticed my aura taking a steep decline. By the second my aura was declining, so I chose to end my meditation to see what's wrong.

Opening my eyes I was met with a flabbergasted Lena, as I suddenly found myself mid air. "Ahh What!?" I screamed out as I faceplanted.

Getting up I rubbed my nose. "Ughhh what happened...." I asked rhetorically.

Lena did a light jog over to me and started waving her hands around. "Oh my gosh love you became like a cloud of rose petals! It wasn't like normal where you travel quickly, but it like. Hold on finding the right word."

Lena tapped her chin for a second. "Hmm well it was like you became the rose petals? If you get what I mean? One second you were there, and the next the whole room was mostly rose petals and you disappeared."

Taking Lena's excited speech into account I remembered that feeling I had when I was meditating. "Hold on let me try it again!" I excitedly said as I closed my eyes and tried becoming the rose cloud again.

Imagining myself turning into a cloud of rose petals, I soon felt my body disappearing. Opening my eyes I held my hand up to my face as I watched it turn to rose petals. The petals drifted away around the room which was now full of rose petals.

"Ahh! Love you are disappearing!" Lena shouted as she ran towards me and tried to grab my arm, only for her hand to go through me. This caused a reaction that led to the rest of my body drifting away as my vision changed.

I could now once more see 360 degrees around myself, and could drift however I wanted. Feeling my aura dropping quickly I chose to only mess with it a little, and drift lightly around Lena and other objects in the room.

'This is amazing! I have only experienced this high speeds, but it is also pretty nice to go slow. Also look at this, the room is like a storm of rose petals!' I thought as I drifted through exercise machines.

Doing this for about a minute I felt my aura finally going into its reserves, so I chose to stop. Slowly I made my way back to behind Lena. Willing the last of my aura to move the petals, I soon started a tornado around her.

"Oi love what are you doing!?" Lena shouted out as she spat out a rose petal. She watched as hundreds upon hundreds of rose petals drifted around her, blocking her vision only to disappear entirely.

Lena opened her squinted eyes and looked around, only to feel hands wrapped around her neck. Quickly turning around she saw me grinning.

"Heh that was soo cool, but I'm kinda pooped." I muttered out as I put most of my weight around Lena, causing her to stumble slightly.

Lena regained her balance and stared at me until she began to quickly talk about what I just did.

"Oh my gosh that was amazing! How you turned the room practically into rose petals, and even yourself! It was like a scene straight out of a movie!"

Chuckling out, I tried to step back from Lena, but because I was so tired I instead fell over. "Oofph!" I exhaled out as I fell on my back due to my legs not supporting me.

Lena quickly dropped next to me to see if I was okay. "You good love? You just suddenly dropped."

Giving a small nod I muttered out "Yeah I'm... Fine... Just a little tired, I used most of my aura."

Lena nodded and asked what she should do. "Soo should I help you up and get back to our room, or do I just let you rest for a couple?"

"Just, give me a couple seconds... Know what I can't feel my legs, this took a lot more out of me than I thought. Can you help me back up?" I tiredly asked as my head felt a little dizzy.

Giving an understanding nod, Lena picked me up but not in a way I thought she would. Picking me up in a princess carry I blushed slightly. "Waitwait, why are you carrying me like this!?" I quickly asked Lena, who was now smirking.

"Well you wanted help, so I am helping. I can always leave you here to be found by a janitor or something." Lena looked down at me for my response, and I simply looked away.

Hit by more tiredness my head spin slightly. Too tired to fight back I gave her a small nod and allowed Lena to slowly carry me back to our room. We arrived in my room in a flash, as I kept falling half asleep only to be jolted awake due to Lena's walking.

Lena opened the door using her foot, and then pulled open the door with some difficulty as she had to maneuver her hands properly to open it. Still half asleep I soon noticed we made it back to the dorm.

Lena sat me on my bed and helped me take off my boots. "Sorry... I never felt this drained before... I think I overdid it for simple training." I apologized as Lena took off my second boot.

Smirking slightly she looked up at me and pushed me so I would lay down on the bed. She then walked away and said "Don't worry love, I experienced something like this before when I first got my Chronal Accelerator. I remember trying to see how long I could use it consecutively only to feel like garbage afterwards."

Nodding slightly I pulled the covers up and closed my eyes. Before finally falling asleep I think I asked Lena to make sure we get up in time.

Quickly falling asleep, I went into dreamland to have an extremely comfortable sleep.

*Beep! Beep! Beep!*

Groggily I woke up just enough to slap the alarm clock only to notice what I had planned today. My eyes jolted open as I sat up, as all vestiges of sleep left me.

"Ohmygosh we only have 35 minutes to get ready for battle! Lenagetuprightnow!" I jumped out of bed and tackled the still sleeping Lena off the bed.

"Oomph! Oi!" Lena shouted in anger as I landed roughly on top of her.

Not giving her the time of day I quickly looked around for my battle gear. "Comeoncomeon! We need to hurry up!" I shouted as I made my way quickly to the shower room to get ready.

Brushing my teeth and doing my morning routine, I exited the bathroom. Ignoring the waiting Lena outside the door I then entered the bedroom and chose my old combat uniform.

Grabbing Gleaming Rose I attached her on my back. Strapping on my boots, I then double checked for any possessions I would need.

Grabbing the God Program Frying Object, a name I personally came up with, I soon pocketed it on my leg. Then using a tiny bit of aura I created a multitude of different dust bullet types for Gleaming Rose.

Willing the bullets to appear in bullet holsters on my dress and cloak, I then quickly grabbed my phone and scroll and hid them away in a hidden pocket. Searching my drawers for anything else I would need, I came across my small cookie stash.

Eating a few cookies quickly, I then waited patiently for Lena to get out of the bathroom. Looking at the clock I saw as time ticked away, and we only had 15 minutes left. Tapping my foot impatiently I waited.

"Urghh what is taking her so long?" I asked aloud only to see Lena dash into the room with a blue blur.

"Come on Ruby! We gotta go! They should already be prepping to leave!" Lena shouted at me as she grabbed my hand and dragged me up.

"Really? You were the slow one at first!" I shouted out in anxiety as Lena did a light jog out of the room. Following her I made conversation.

"So this is our first mission! Lena and Ruby on their way to fight the evil group called Null Sector! Let's do this!" I shouted as we ran down the halls.

Lena had a serious look on her face and ignored me. 'Is she okay?' I wondered as I put my hand on her shoulder and slowed her down.

She sent a fierce glare to me and slapped my hand off of herself. "Hey!" I shouted out and she quickly noticed what she did.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to be so aggressive love, it's just that this means a lot to me... It's my home that's on the line, and my career." Lena looked down at the ground with a complicative look on her face.

A look of understanding flashed from my face and I knew where she was coming from. 'I felt the same before, no need to blame her.' I thought as this time I gave her a supporting gaze.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. I promise." I gave her a massive smile and motioned for her to keep moving.

"Even if it's not fine, we can figure it out, now come on! We only have..." Checking my scroll my eyes opened even larger. "5 minutes!?"

Lena's eyes opened widely as she began dead sprinting down the halls. Quickly catching up with her I acted my semblance and picked her up while moving at speeds that caused me to blur.

Ignoring her screams, I traveled as fast as I could without causing damages to the area around me. Flying across the entire base in a 2 minutes, I soon entered the hangar to see the rest of the members already there.

Flying to a stop in front of them I made a peace sign and cheerfully shouted "Rose and Tracer, reporting for duty!"

Lena though, couldn't even stand as she fell on the floor as soon as I stopped. With difficulty Lena stood, as she swayed slightly. "Here... too..." Lena said with difficulty.

Looking towards the members of Overwatch, I saw Jack standing in front of Reinhardt, Mercy, Torbjorn, and Anna. Reinhardt was simply laughing at our display as Torbjorn gave a frown to us all.

Mercy giggled slightly and Anna looked at us in disappointment. Jack coughed to gain our attention and motioned for us to get in line. Nodding I dragged Lena over to line up.

Jack looked us all over, and then motioned to the big Orca ship. "Well, what are you waiting for? Get on the ship. Food and other supplies are already onboard! The briefing, map, and mission is posted on the information board inside."

Everyone stood at attention as serious looks dawned across their face, as we all quickly made our way inside. Everyone walked into the extremely large Orca except Torbjorn. Torbjorn ran around the Orca and began pushing something that was floating.

Torbjorn pushed what looked to be a floating bomb on board, and then saw everyone's worrying looks. "Dontcha worry, it's deactivated and turned off." he said while slapping the floating bomb.

He then pressed some buttons and it locked onto the floor of the Orca. Torbjorn then wobbled over to the seats and sat down. Slowly but surely everyone strapped into their seats with a serious look on their faces.

Lena with a slightly hesitant and nervous look on her face buckled up next to me. Reinhardt, Mercy, and Torbjorn all buckled in as well. Anna walked past everyone and then went to the pilot's seat and began doing a preflight check.

"Alright people! Information should be on the board now!" Anna shouted out as a hologram appeared in front of everyone. A large map of our route, with expected enemies and everything.

"We will be escorting Torbjorns bomb through the highlighted route! Expect extreme hostility from enemies! Make sure you all stay safe out there too! I will act as air support when I can, and I will also be emergency pick up!" Anna shouted as the doors of the Orca closed.

Anna then started up the engines and shouted "Make sure to stay safe out there! I can't get too close due to the extreme amounts of anti air, so if you need an evac you must get as far away as you can from the factory!"

"Haha! We need no evacuation Anna! We can easily make our way through those buckets of bolts!" Reinhardt boisterously shouted out as Mercy sighed.

Torbjorn smirked but said nothing as Lena and I stayed silent. Lena grew a determined look on her face as she held onto the buckles of her seat.

"Alright alright! Settle down Reinhardt! Prepare for takeoff, we will arrive in approximately 2 hours under heavy fire, so you will need to get off as fast as possible! The holoprojectors will tell you when you need to get out of the Orca!" Anna shouted as she revved up the engines and took off.

'Well... I am finally entering onto the stage. Prepare yourselves Null Sector!' I thought as I held onto my seatbelt.

Enjoyed the extra long chapter today? I was Trying to boost Ruby's semblance after I read a cool fanfic about something similar. After all how could her semblance not boost while having so much soul strength from Masons soul. Anyway's hope you enjoyed as next chapter we are going to be killing some clankers.
