Chapter 25 - Another Lose

Chapter 25

Another loss

John signed worried, as he kept checking his watch. Today mark two weeks since his wife went into comma after the shock of losing her child yet again, worst of all it was going to be twins.

Sighing, although he was the one carrying the child thinking about losing it almost killed him, if he felt that way, what about the person carrying it?

He sighed and checks his watch again, he should be with his wife but because Clay wanted to speak with him, he left her alone. But why isn't he coming?

While he was still brooding, Mr Clay appeared irritated. "You sure took your sweet time," John blasted out

"Sorry about that… I needed to settle some few things in the office." He said with an apologetic look,

Sighing, "It's fine, just tell me what is it you wanted to say. I require being with my wife."

"Oh, sure…." Clay paused for a second and just stared at John, he doesn't want to step into any family issues, but Mrs Black was his patient, and he needs to make sure she is safe but in her home all "Ahhhhh… sorry sir, I don't know how to ask this without it looking like I'm intruding in your family, so I'll just ask. Can you please tell me the relationship Rose and Mrs Black have?" he asked, not sure of what the answer might be

"What do you mean, Rose and Mrs Black? You are making it sound like she was picked from someplace."

Oh, "She is not?" he asked, surprised

"Of course not," John answered, a little annoyed. "Rose is my second child, birth by Vivian, My wife. I don't know what you are getting out Clay, but you are irritating me with your questions," John was not happy, he already could guess what was going on in Clay's head.

"Sorry sir, I'm just worried about your wife's health getting worsted under such situations." He said,

"And what kind of situation is that?" John asked

"Well…." He said nervously with his hand on his neck "The situation of mother and daughter fighting and ---------"

"That's enough," John said, and he stood up. "You have said enough Clay, I think it will be better if you just focus on being my wife's doctor and nothing else."

Standing up too "That's what I'm trying to do sir," he replied him "I was discussing with Madam Gloria not too long ago; she confirmed that Mrs Black's condition got worsted since she appeared. So, I think it will be better if she is been moved into another place, just until she gets better." He lied, of course he said nothing to Gloria none did they discuss together but after his confrontation with Rose, it will be best if they stayed far from each other, he turned his gaze to John, who was frowning.

He signed, causing under his breath, "I see….. But I will say this again, my wife and my daughter do not have any issue with each other and about my wife condition, getting better… I just got a message from the doctor, she is awake, so I'll just pretend that I heard nothing, and I'll also appreciate it if you don't go passing around a wrong impression of my family, alright?"

"Oh…. Sure. I just thought I should tell you what I observed." He forced a smile

"Well, you observed wronged but thank you all the same." He said and walked away, leaving Clay alone at the café.

Clay stood, just staring at John till his back disappeared into the trace. "I knew this was going to happen. With the way he was ignoring my words, he knows that something is wrong. I wonder why he is not taking any action." Clay mutters to himself as he too headed toward the hospital.

Sighing, John stood outside his wife hospital room. He, among others, knows exactly what went wrong in his family, and he knows for the fact that it was already too late to change anything.

He had thought rose traveling to a distance land will somehow change the hatred in both of their heart but the complete and utter rage he saw in his daughter's eyes, the first day she came, told him otherwise and the fear in saw in his own wife eyes made him wonder, if they were anything that he was missing? He took a glance at his phone; he massages Rose and told her to come over to the hospital to see her mother, and it looks like she agreed. Sighing again, he pushed open the door, "they she is…. My one and only," he said, forcing a smile.

Gloria stood up from her seat and hug him "Mother is back," she announced happily

"Yes," he replied her and went over to his wife side "How are you feeling?" he asked

"Okay, I guess," she said with a low voice

"That's more than okay." He smiled, and then the door pushed opened, Doc Clay came in.

"Ahh, it's good to see you doing well, Mrs Black,"

"Yes, me too." She smiled at him softly

"I can't believe she sat this one out, is she even human?" Gloria spat out

Turning to her, John asked, "What? Who are you talking about?'

"Rose, father, who else?"

At the mention of her name, Vivian filched a little, Clay took notice but pretended not to as he spoke. "Please don't move too much, am about to take some blood sample from you,"

"Ohh, of course." She said with a forced smile.

"Don't be silly, Gloria, she will be here soon," John said

"That was only because you called her. What can of a child will not be with her mother in a darkest moment. Is she even a Black?" she asked

From the Conner of John's eyes, he could feel Clay watching and listening. He caused "Don't be stupid. She is a Black and you know it. You carried her in your arms when she was just six months old." He spat out and turned to Clay, who was now paying full attention to them and said "She was neither picked nor adopted, she is my very blood." He finished.

"That's enough already," Mrs Black said, not because she wanted to side with her but because her name is making her uncomfortable

"Well yes father, but I just can't imagine that gentle, lovely Rose to be the same devil I'm seeing,"

"Hey, watch what you say. You don't talk about your family in such an uncanny manner," John scolded her

"See, you always take her side, that is why she is so spoilt," she spat out in anger, "I just wish she wasn't my sister."

As soon as Gloria said that, the door pushed open and Rose walked in with a devilish grin on her face. She glared at Gloria, who flinched. "Now, now, Gloria, be careful what you wish for. That's your first child, right?" Rose asked, pointing at her bulging stomach

"What?"
