Nominated

It was completely dark, and i couldn't believe i was leaving all my lovely friends, and parents to go take revenge.

I can't believe i was leaving Alyssa. But she'll be fine. She's my strong baby sister.

I sat under an oak tree, and started to read the books that Vivian gave me. It turned out, Queen Ahyeon and her stupid daughter Mina had ruined other kingdoms. This was so heartbreaking. I was a bit sleepy, and everything went black in five minutes.

I woke up, and i saw the horizon. I got up and continued my journey. Soon, i reached the kingdom.

I first needed, a job.

If i didn't have a job, i couldn't do what i wanted. Soon, the TLW flew into my mind.

"What's TLW?" I thought. I sat in the marketplace and then i noticed some maidens talking.

"I can't wait for the ball. Then i can finally show the prince that am TLW!" One of the girls squealed.

"why would the prince love you? Your father is dead, and your mother bakes horribly sugary cakes." The second girl rolled her eyes.

"Excuse me girls, what's TLW?"

"Are you new to this kingdom? The Legal Wife of course. So, do you wanna be the Prince's Legal Wife?" One of the girls asked me.

"Um....yeah." The girls clapped.

"You should definitely win the contest and be his bride. You look like a Princess."

"Totally." They ignored me and they continued their discussion. I decided to ask one more question.

"Do you know who Sapphire and Sapphira are?" I asked and they started cackling.

"Them? I don't know Sapphire. But Sapphira is one of the contestants for the legal wife. She also wanna beat us and win the contest."

"Plus, she stole those sapphires that she's wearing." The girls said and laughed.

"Can...can i beat her?"

"Well, you can beat her in the game. That's what we are also planning to do. And you know what, i want to make her life miserable, just like she did to Queen Jennie."

"QUEEN JENNIE???" I had so many questions. What did my mum had to do with Sapphira? I thought i was living a life of enjoyment, but little did i know, it was all a life of dark secrets.

"Can..can..can we go to the palace and register?"

"I was about going. My friend here registered yesterday." One of the girls said.

'What are your names?" I asked, wanting a friendship.

"Well, am Stella and she's Bella." One of them said.

"My name is Rose.'

"Wow!!!!!! Rose, Queen Jennie's daughter! I can't believe she's your namesake!" They squealed. Stella started walking to the palace as i awkwardly followed her.

We reached the palace soon after. I didn't think of any other place but run to the stable.

"Flo!!!!" I screamed, and hugged her. She neighed on seeing me again. Once i conquer all my enemies, i will take Flo with me, and she'll be the captain of all my thirty horses. That's for sure! Stella and i entered the palace, and she kept looking everywhere.

We reached the throne, and bowed at the same time.

"Good day Sire, my name is Stella, and i live in the nearest village. My mum is a teacher while Dad is a fisherman. They try their best to provide for me. I am skilled at archery and cloth weaving, i sew silky dresses, and even gowns made of flax. I have a whole room full of yarn at home, bows and arrows."

"Well, its not about your parents' occupation, its about you My Princess. And i can see how smart you are. But many girls have come here and lied, who knows if its actually true about them. But something in my heart tells me you're innocent, and everything you said here, is the truth. You have been nominated."

"YESS!!!!! Thank you so much sire."

"Wait...one more thing - why are you doing this? For love, or for the treasures?" Prince Ethan asked.

"Of course for love. I love you than anyone else in the world. I love you than a lady who only steals sapphires to deceive herself. I love you than an idiot who is actually a peasant...."

"Stop. You have been nominated."

"Thank you sire."

"And you?" i finally rose up my head. He looked elated on seeing me.

"Good day Rose. How is everything in May? How is Queen Ahyeon and my darling cousin Mina?"

"They are good sire."

"Introduce yourself properly. Didn't you see what Stella did? Stella is flawless, selfless, and she looks so pretty. While you just look like cow's fart." Sapphira laughed.

"Do cows fart? Well, you'd know that since you're a milkmaid.' I said and that made Sapphira red.

"Sapphira, what are they talking about?" Prince Ethan turned to Sapphira who was tongue-tied.

"Milkmaid?? am...am sure they still think of me as my sister. Guys, am a Princess!"

"Oh sure you're a princess." Stella rolled her eyes.

"My name is Rose. I...i..i came from May and i am just a normal girl, that works in the marketplace. I help my mum sell fabrics, and am good too." Me? Good. I didn't even know how to hold a needle.

"Wow. That's great. You girls are really talented, and that's what i need for TLW. Vivian, give them points. Seven points." Prince Ethan said.

"Why are you doing this? For money, or for love?" He asked.

"Um....Prince, i don't see a reason why Princess Sapphira is here on this throne. She hasn't won the TLW, so she has 0% right to sit down here. Please stand up." I ordered.

"WHAT?"

"Yes Sapphira, stand up." The prince added.

"IS THIS SOME SORT OF JOKE? AM A PRINCESS! AM DIFFERENT FROM THE REST OF YOU!"

"You are a contestant for now. When you lose the contest, you can go sulk on your stupid throne."

"The bucket of milk." Stella mumbled.

"Wait, before you get nominated, one more question. Stella, have you ever kissed someone?"

"Well, i have only heard about that in movies...and i don't think it really happens."

"Of course it does. And you, Rose." He winked and i bit a finger.

"Um.......um....in my...in my dreams.' I added and the whole court burst into laughter. I have never been so embarrassed in my whole life. Even little miss idiot was laughing.

"No problem. You are nominated.' I ran out of the palace in embarrassment.

"Hey Rose, wait up!" Stella caught up with me and as soon as she saw my face, she burst into laughter.

"Am interested. What happened in the dream?" She cackled and i rolled my eyes.

"Don't let us talk about it." I walked.

"Shh! Am not gonna tell anyone."

"You sound like a fool when you gossip." I started frowning.

"Rose, at least be happy that you've been nominated. Omg, its still funny." She laughed out loud.

"WHAT'S SO FUNNY?" She cackled and cackled till we reached the marketplace, and saw Bella with the customers. We retired into the stall and Bella gave us some water.

"What happened at the palace? Did you get nominated?"

"Bella, bella, bella, guess what?? The prince asked us if we have ever kissed someone, and do you know what Rose said?"

"What did she say? Yes?"

"IN HER DREAMS!" She screamed and started laughing. Bella joined in too. I grimaced but slowly started laughing, till the whole stall was filled with our laughter.

It wasn't so funny? Right?
