Summer Break

"So Ms.Ririko was a Lamia?" Eli asked as he and Tsukune stood next to the bus stop and he nodded as he rubbed the back of his neck, "We just can't catch a break huh?"

"You guys are here early!" Moka yelled as she walked down the path and Eli chuckled at the change in Tsukune's mood. He watched them climb up the tree next to him and begin to chat about the trip to the human world with smiles. He leaned against the tree and closed his eyes as they continued to talk before they heard Yukari and Kurumu coming towards them.

"I don't want to go to the human world!" Yukari yelled at Kurumu and Eli opened his eyes to see what was going on. His blood ran cold when Kurumu suddenly glared at him as she marched over and she stopped a few inches in front of him to look him in the eyes.

"We were supposed to walk here together!" Kurumu told him with an upset tone and he tried to take a step back before his back hit the tree, "How could you forget?!"

"Uh oh Eli's in trouble." Moka said while Tsukune talked to Yukari and she walked over with her hands up, "Kurumu we have the entire break so you'll be able to spend plenty of time together!"

"Yeah let's not have Eli's forgetfulness ruin the trip." Tsukune told her with a smile and when she sighed Eli gave both of then a thankful look before they saw the bus pulling up. Ms.Nekonome greeted them when the doors ooened and Eli wasn't surprised when Kurumu sat next to him but he knew that she was still upset with him.

"I'm sorry Kurumu." Eli told her in a soft voice that she rarely heard and she couldn't help but smile at him as the bus began to move. He looked out of the window as they entered the tunnel and when the lights inside the bus came on he saw his inner vampire in his reflection before it suddenly returned to normal. He turned to Kurumu to see if she noticed it as well but she was too busy arguing with Yukari again. Once they were out of the tunnel he took a deep breath to calm his nerves and saw that they were on the outskirts of a city.

"Was that a no trespassing sign?" Tsukune asked as he tried to get a better look at where they were going and they all watched as a sunflower field come into view as the bus left the forest they were driving through. They climbed out of the bus once it stopped and Eli quietly examined the massive area.

"I recommend you kids read the local newspaper before you do anything else." The bus driver said as he handed Tsukune a newspaper and quickly leaving the field with Ms.Nekonome.

"Eli let's go!" Kurumu yelled to him as everyone began to walk through the flowers while he watched the bus drive away and he followed behind them as he examined their surroundings, "I wonder why we're here?"

"I'm not sure..." Eli trailed off when he suddenly turned his head and the others gave him confused looks before he motioned to a patch of moving flowers, "Something is watching us right now."

"This place does seem weird." Tsukune said as he got a closer look at the sunflowers next to them and a roar suddenly echoed throughout the field, surprising all of them, "Was that a monster?!"

"Everyone get to that shed now!" Eli yelled as he pointed to the small shed at the top of the hill and they ran full speed towards the building. Moka slammed the door behind them and after catching their breaths they looked at the newspaper that the bus driver had given them.

"So the locals call this place Witch Hill? If there is a witch here then that would explain why everything seems so off." Eli said as he sighed while leaning against the wall before Kurumu and Yukari began to argue again, "We all need to calm down so we have clear minds in case something happens."

"My tarot cards say that this trip is ill-fated!" Yukari yelled in an upset voice, "This trip to the human world was a bad idea from the start!"

"I've had enough of you Yukari." Kurumu told her with a glare and Eli didn't like where this was going, "You've done nothing but complain all day! Stop being such a wimp and stop hiding under your bed! You're being a baby and if you're so worried then go home by yourself!"

"I'm not scared of anything!" Yukari yelled as she ran out the door and Moka tried to stop her but was too slow. She elected to follow the young witch and after some convincing from Eli they are left the shed. After some searching they heard a scream and immediately began to run towards the source, with Eli running faster than them. When he reached the edge of the forest he saw Yukari wipe out a group of plant monsters before falling unconscious from the amount of magic she used and he smiled at the young witch but his smile quickly faded when he saw another plant monster shoot from under the flowers.

"Little witch!" A human yelled as they ran towards her before they saw Eli go past them and punch the monster hard enough to cause a hole in it's chest. He turned around as the others reach the area and the human fell down as he walked up to them.

"Here." Eli said as he held his hand out and helped them stand up before he noticed the human that was being drained by the plants and he tore the vines off instantly, "Is she ok?"

"Yeah she just used too much magic." Moka told everyone as she picked Yukari up and they left to find a safe place to rest until she woke up.
