First Visit - II

It was now dead silent in the room except the huffing from the girl. She was gasping for breath. Su Xin Yu was now afraid to even look back. Why was she having this horrible experience right now? And why was this guy such a weirdo?

After a few seconds, she heard the sound of footsteps. One, Two. This room was not so big, so she knew if she turned around, the guy would be just behind her. Was he… was he going to molest her now? Was he looking for places to do the girls like this and hence was interested in dungeons?

"I am sorry for earlier," a very magnetic voice whispered in her ears from behind. Close! The guy was too close to her! He had invaded her personal space and Su Xin Yu was not enjoying it at all. She jumped from her place to the wooden platform. She turned around to have her back against the wooden carving.

"What… are you doing?" She could not help but yell at him. She saw that her classmate was lying in the corner still panting from their earlier activity, an ecstatic expression on her face. This… This guy!!!

"I do not mean any harm. Did you not say we could not take her? It is okay now right?" He blinked his eyes expressionlessly.

What was this guy? Was he self-aware at all?

Su Xin Yu opened her eyes wide. Then she decided that it was futile to argue with this guy. Apparently he had come from abroad, so he might not understand all the things. As soon as she relaxed, the guy started taking steps towards the platform, scaring Su Xin Yu out of her wits again. They could talk while being far apart, why was this guy hell bent on coming in her close proximity?

"Listen, stay where you are. We can do this in a polite manner too," she warned him.

"What, you don't like this? You have been staring at me the whole time like the other girls. Say, are you not interested in me as well?" He had a smug smile on his face while he continued to lessen the distance between them in very slow measured steps. No wonder! His brain was twisted and nothing else.

Who is interested in you? I was against this whole idea anyway. I would gladly not take you anywhere," Su Xin Yu screamed and pushed a few carvings behind her back. The guy slammed his hand on one of the carvings, blocking her whole body with his. Thankfully he was standing at the outer ring which was not affected by the wall rotation.

In a blink of an eye, the wood behind the girl's back rotated and she disappeared behind the wall, the wall rotating back to its original state.

"Su Xin Yu? Su Xin Yu? Where did she go?" The guy had no idea at all what just happened. He had seen the door revolve and the girl did explain to him earlier that there were a few mechanisms in this wall. Thankfully he had a photographic memory. He closed his eyes and recreated each of her movement in his mind.

He pressed the same mechanisms and was soon behind the wall as well. But he could not find the girl.

"Su Xin Yu? Are you here?" Li Ming Hao called for her but got no response. Eh, this rabbit got so scared of him? How come?

It was pitch black inside. He turned on the torch from his mobile phone and flashed the light into the darkness. There were stairs in front of him. The area was covered with walls on both the sides. Looking around, he found a switch and also noticed old fashioned bulbs tied with a wire.

It seemed like people from school had established some electricity in these parts of the dungeon. Why did his dad want him to go and explore these with the girl then? He turned the lights on. Suddenly the bulbs came to life, blinding him. It took him a few good minutes to restore his vision to normal.

Carefully looking around, he found that the walls were made of big blocks of cement. The stairs were covered with cobwebs. There were no designs or statues as such and they just looked like normal stairs to someone's basement.

He started to move forward, climbing the stairs down as cautiously as possible.

The girl had mentioned that there were no traps in here, so he should be fine, right? But she never talked about any monsters or anything, so he was still pretty scared. He took out a knife from his back pocket, just in case.

On the other side, Su Xin Yu was really confused. She had only seen one staircase all her life, what was this unfamiliar place? She turned her torchlight on. She always kept a few things on her and this was one of the essentials.

She flashed the light around, everything was quite dusty. She had definitely not visited this part of the dungeon before. But to think she would end up discovering a totally new place from the gate she had used for years was confusing and exciting at the same time.

She had been wearing a jacket all this while but this particular dungeon was quite hot. It seemed like there was not much air flow inside. She removed her jacket to uncover the tank top she was wearing beneath and wrapped it around her waist.

From her previous expeditions, there should not be any bugs in this area but one could never be careless when dealing with dungeons.

Her tribe had definitely not advanced technologically in the recent years but her ancestors were masters of astrology, astronomy and mechanical engineering. Their traps had quite some interesting mechanisms.

This place also housed quite a few supernatural phenomena attributed to the slaves that died here and the mummies that were buried way before her ancestors got to work here.

Su Xin Yu had no idea that Li Ming Hao had entered her usual path and was exploring the dungeon on his own. It just so happened that the two tunnels were going parallel to each other, so both of them were walking side by side, unaware of the other's presence just beyond the wall.
