Chapter 14: start of new world

The people inside the room are feeling uneasy some paced around or sat on their seats and there are a few looking at the window.

it is currently 15:45

the people inside the room are feeling tense as the clock ticks, seconds, minutes then to an hour passed and still no rescuer to help them get out from this situation.

a girl around 153cm tall walked to where Rui-sensei is then she says eyes a bit watery and somewhat a bit out of focus. "Sensei, is help going to be here soon?"

"I don't know when they'll come but I'm sure they will. Let's just wait here for a few more hours. Okay?" Rui answered her but she also said it for herself. She's also worrying for her little sister.

"hey guys can you try calling, mine doesnt connect"

everyone took out their phone and called their relatives, hearing a beep they hang up and call once again. They did it a few more times but after not connecting on the call each time the feeling that was lurking inside, surfaced. The feeling of despair.

Everyone felt distressed, each one of them wants to go home and be with their family.

Everyone besides a few people. Hiori was calm the entire time. Mumei fine too, she kept her cool.

Kaede and Haru is also doing great, actually they seemed even more excited.

Rui-sensei on the other hand was feeling worried still for her little sister, now that they can't communicate she won't be able to know her situation. She just hope for her little sister to act a bit more smarter and keep herself well. at least until they can reunite again.

at the same time, in a different school ground

is not so peaceful compared to Hiori's

almost all of the people in this school had come to the other side in just a short amount of time.

two young girls running at the field, one's cloth is fully painted in red and one is somewhat cleaner if compared. the fully painted one has black gloves on, her hands held two 26 inches batons, that a police officer use.

She swings it practically when zombies came close to them, sometimes hitting on their neck other times on their foreheads.

Zombies ran after them on all of their side, she then swings her batons non-stop hitting them! the zombie fell one after another as the baton left them as they run! stepping on the zombie who fell on the ground.

"YOUNG MISS! HURRY UP!!" Saki shouted to the girl who accidentally fell

"I'M UP! SHIT!! KEEP RUNNING!!" she shouted back

"DON'T MIND ME AND KEEP RUNNING I'LL FOLLOW!!" she shouted gasping

Saki looked behind, making an eye contact she nodded she looked forward then she started to run fast.

nearing at the school gate Saki shouted to asked Matsuri.

"YOUNG MISS WHERE SHOULD WE GO!!!"

"GO TO THE 7-ELEVEN!!!"

they sprinted to the convinience store near the school, they dodge the zombies that can be avoided and striked the ones that came right at them. They safely entered inside and closed it after Matsuri held the door while Saki went to reach above to lock it, after locking it Saki went around to look inside to see if there are people or zombies, she spotted two zombies then she hit them on their foreheads she then pulled it over to the side. Saki went to the "staff only room" she twisted the door knob a few times it made a click sound every time she tried to twist it, it was locked. Saki walked to where Matsuri is at then she said whispering "I saw two zombies and dealt with it and the staff room is locked. I suspect people are inside."

"did you knock on the door?"

"No"

"Okay let me handle it?"

Saki nodded but she still went with her.

Matsuri knocked on the door two times

*tap tap*

"hello? is somebody inside?" she said after making the two taps

"..."

Matsuri sighed, before she walk away from the door she heard a faint voice "he~llo?" it was a bit shaky

"HELLO!! we came from the school nearby! is it okay for us to stay here for a bit? we're not bit! so rest assured!"

the door made a clicked sound then it creaked open. A tall foreign blonde girl wearing a konbini uniform on her name tag is written Ashurii in katakana (Ashley).

"it's okay to stay, I'm alone in here don't worry." she said fluently in japanese as if she's a native.

Saki and Matsuri both standing still in awe as they saw her. They didn't expect such fluent japanese.

Ashley waved her hands "Hello~?" she said smiling to the both of them

Saki snapped out of it first then she nudged Matsuri then she said "is it okay if we hide inside the staff room? just for safety measures? I doubt the entrance can handle them any longer" she then pointed at the entrance.

Ashley looked at where she pointed then she nodded "Mhm, it's safer inside. Let's grab things we need first before we head in?"

Matsuri and Saki stared at each briefly then they grabbed a shopping basket each and filled it with food and water then the three of them quickly went to the staff room and locked it once again.

Hiori's classmates are getting even more impatient, in less than ten minutes 3 fights already happened... and the atmoshpere inside is not so good.

the students formed a group for themselves, wait quietly for help or go outside as a group.

the class was torn in half, they debated on why they should do this and why they should do that. of course Hiori was just watching the whole thing and thought that everything is going the same as 'before' she didn't want to participate on such things so she pulled Mumei as they went to the corner, Kaede and Haru thought they were forming the "quiet and to observe group" so they followed

Rui-sensei tried to make talk with her students but she got called off, and was even cursed at! (well if they're going to be like this, not even bothering to respect me... I should stop being their teacher and be myself then) she thought to herself. She walked away from the problematic group slowly then noticed a small group of quiet kids on the corner then she also 'joined' them.

Hiori was confused as to why four people suddenly went to where she and Mumei are.

the other person who also joined Hiori's group is the girl named Rin, she was the one who refuted the boy who wanted to go out and try out running the zombie.

Hiori asked them why they're here, bewilderment visible on her face. Watanabe Rui answered first "I'll be honest I think that this group won't curse at me at least. I'll stop being a teacher and be a worried elder sister instead. if anyone of you is thinking of going outside..can I tag along? I want to look for my little sister."

Kaede answered after "I went here thinking that this group is more sensible than them" he pointed at the two group that's still debating

Haru and Rin nodded

Hiori sighed, she looked at them one by one then she said seriously "then who's going to act as the leader?"

they looked at each other then their gazes landed on Hiori with a smile on their faces.

Hiori pointed at herself she said almost shouting "ME?!"

everyone nodded as if they already had a prior agreement.

"WHY ME?!" Hiori asked

Haru answered "I noticed you, when Kaede and I were talking earlier. You were listening to us right? I saw you nodding and shaking when we were talking about it."

"what does that have to do with being the leader? can I just agree and disagree?"

Rin cut in and said "I also overheard you... that you are planning to go outside when you get the chance. So I thought you already made a plan..."

hearing this Rui took the chance to ask "can I ask where you plan to go... if by chance its by the gym..." she stared at Hiori's eyes, when she saw Hiori avoiding her gaze that already confirm what she was gonna ask so she didn't continue

Hiori sighed... "what does having a plan on leaving the group be the factor of being a leader..."

Haru answered "it takes a lot of time to think of a plan. it hasn't been that long since the zombie breakout and you already thought of what to do next." Haru looked at Hiori backpack and the suspicious cloth case then he pointed at them "im guessing that those are survival items"

Hiori had a goosebumps all over her body this dud sure have a creative mind but he is right about it... but still being responsible in one's life is not something easy...

after a long consideration she said "I can share my plans with you guys but I won't be acting as the leader, being one has too much responsibilities which I think I can't uphold."

Watanabe Rui nodded then she said "Hiori is right, everyone how about this, each one of us is responsible for our own, but if you can help someone who is in need then you can this only applies to this group of people. If you're thinking of taking someone in on the group it has to have everyone's approval."
