1 Chapter 1: A loving family and a normal day

It's a very normal day, almost audible of birds singing at the background along with a lively chatter. Inside the room an even breathing could be slightly heard in the bed a person is lying with blanket over it's head, it made a few movement as the phone made a loud buzz

The phone lighted as it vibrated, it showed a side profile of a girl who's busy reading as its wallpaper probably taken in a secret as it is somewhat out of focus, at the center of the screen it showed the time '6:00' whilst below it is the date 'April 5th'.

the phone buzzed for a while

with a groan, the girl lying on the bed moved. A fair slender arms reached for the buzzing phone and turned off the alarm then threw it on the side, after a few breathing she woke up and seated on her bed her shoulder length hair is a mess, it looked as if she fought.

She yawned as she lazily stretched her arms, after a few stretch she got out of her bed she folded her blankets and went out of her room and went to the bathroom afterwards which is two rooms away from hers.

She washed her face and brushed her teeth after then she went back to her room, changed her pajamas to a proper clothes and wore her school uniform after. She walked around a bit and stopped at the mirror she looked at herself wearing the uniform, a formal white long-sleeves, a navy blue cardigan, a dark green tie with a silver pin, and a navy blue pants, and a white plain socks. After checking herself she arranged a few strands of her hair then she grabbed her school bag and went downstairs.

As she walked down step by step, a few clatters and voices could be heard. A delicious smell wafted around she took the last step of the stairs and the aroma got stronger she closed her eyes and took a few deep breathes.

A woman wearing an apron stood at the kitchen holding a pot, steam coming out of it and walked towards the table and put it there, she looked over at the living room seeing a man seated on the sofa holding a newspaper then she called for him with her sweet voice "Papa~ call for Hiori-chan tell her breakfast is ready~"

The man looked over, his gaze was warm then he smiled as he nodded.

The woman smiled back then she continue preparing at the table.

The man looked at her wife's busy back with a smile then he walked out of the living room after a few steps he saw his daughter walking down the stairs, taking the last step he saw her closing her eyes and taking a deep breath when she finally opened her eyes he called her name with a smile on his face then he said warmly "Hiori, Breakfast's ready"

"Dad!~ Good Morning~"

"Good Morning, come your mother's done preparing"

"Mm!~"

Three people sat at the square table the husband sat at the middle the wife sat at right side and the daughter sat on the left facing her mother, 'no talking during a meal' was one of the 2 rules within the Sakamoto household. the other is 'no Boyfriends till college' It was silent at the table but it was not awkward at all and a few clacking sounds could be heard.

After eating her meal Hiori put down her chopsticks and said "thanks for the meal'' then she followed as she looked at her mother "mom~ it was very delicious"

her mother smiled warmly "how would it not be? when I already cooked for us for almost 2 decades~" then she looked at her husband

"but dad is-"

her father faked a cough as he already knows what it would be "ehem"

the two understood and laughed

her father looked at his watched it was already 6:45 he looked at his daughter whose cheeks got a bit pink from laughing he also looked at his wife whose cheeks are also pink then he sighed 'mother like daughter' he thought then a smile appeared on his face too, after a few seconds seeing that the two stopped laughing he let her daughter know the time "Hiori, it's 6:47 wouldn't you be late?"

Hiori eyes widened when she heard the time, not because she would be late for school, but because someone was waiting for her! she grabbed the glass of water then she finished it quickly then she stood up and grabbed her bag before she ran away she stopped then she said "mom, dad, I'm going see you~" she said it quickly she bit her tongue at the end then she ran hastily at the door and wore her shoes then she opened the door in her vision the girl at her phone lockscreen is already waiting at the gate she hurried her way to the gate and opened it, out of breath she said enthusiastically "meimei~! good morning and sorry I'm late!"

Mumei looked at her briefly then she looked at her left wrist where her watch is seeing that it's only 6:50. Normally it would take her thirty minutes more but today she's early. She looked at her again and said calmly "its fine, steady your breathing first before we go."

Hiori nodded after five breathing she said to Mumei "I'm fine now, let's go~"

"Mm."

"Meimei"

"Mm?"

"why are you always early?"

she thought to herself for a bit...when did it exactly start? she was not an early bird but when the two of them started to walked to school together her body just seemed to wake up early

hearing no answer from her Hiori went silent

"..."

"out of habit"

"oh... then how late was I today?"

"thirty minutes"

Hiori stopped for a bit then she started walking again then she thought... thirty minutes... I need to wake up earlier than usual!

"next time I won't be late!"

Mumei chuckled "okay, punishment every time you are late?"

"deal!"

the two walked silently, and Hiori would sometimes steal glances at Mumei. it was like that till the two arrived at the front of the school gate.

Hiori and Mumei arrived one hour early but there's already a lot of student ambling around the school ground who arrived earlier than them.

Hiori gaped then she looked at Mumei as she said teasingly "look, they're more of an early bird than you~"

"..."

They both entered the school, changed their outer shoes into indoor shoes which is a pair of slip-ons plain white shoes and put their outdoor shoes on their own shoe locker, Hiori finished first so she went ahead to the bulletin board, there posted every students class.

in front of the bulletin board was a crowd of students, Hiori being a bit taller than them sometimes would hit her in her chest but she doesn't mind, after a bump or two Hiori manages to get at the front and saw their classroom, she smiled.
