Chapter 8

Ace POV:

The bell rang about 14 minutes ago and the teacher still isn't here. The entire class sits impatiently waiting for the last minute to pass. If you aren't aware my school works with a 15-minute rule. If the teacher doesn't arrive after 15 minutes it means you can leave. I hold my breath looking at the clock on the wall...almost...

The door slams open and a familiar voice fills the air. Everyone sits back in their seats and lets out a collective sigh. One thing about Mr Adams, he always shows up. He walks to the front of the class with a familiar face following behind. Ahhh! Finally, I get to see Mr Eve or whatever...not that I'm excited or anything. The class once again goes silent as we all stare at the tall brunette.

"Good morning class! This is our new student, Everest Quinn! Please make sure he feels welcome! Everest do you have anything you'd like to add?"

Mmmm, so his name is Everest. So-called Everest goes a little red at Mr Adams's question. He rapidly shakes his head as a few people in the class giggle. "Alright then let's get started! You can sit wherever you want." He looks up and scans his eyes over the classroom searching for an empty seat. A few people beckon him over which seems to do nothing but scare him. I laugh under my breath and bend over to grab my books. A body plops down next to me. Did he just sit here...I sit back up quickly and look next to me making eye contact with him- my new desk partner. Surprise crosses his face, he goes to grab his bag ready to move but Mr Adams begins the lesson.

"Welcome to Westlog High Mr Quinn."

He looks at me terrified and gulps. School just got a lot more interesting.
