Chapter Two

Bloom's POV

Once he was out of sight, harmony pulled me into the tent before closing the flap. Sitting down with her legs criss-crossed,she looked at me expectantly.

"What?" I asked

"Seriously Blo, try harder. So tell me why Devin thought kissing you here held so much privacy?"

I rolled my eyes at her,"I don't know"

"Oh come on,I'm your best friend and best friends don't hide things from each other"

"Fine" I huffed while harmony sat up straighter with a serious expression plastered on her face. I told her everything starting from the point dean and Devin argued.

"So let me get this straight,dean stood up for you against Devin?!"

"Yeah, I said that like two minutes ago"

"OMG, did you just say you declined devin's order"asked Har standing up.

"Yeah?"

"Oh My God!"

"What?"I asked freaking out.

"What do you mean by what? Haven't you figured it out?"

"Figured out what?"

She sighed then pinched the bridge of her nose ,"What am I ever gonna do with you?"

"You know I can hear you loud and clear".

She sat down and then faced me wearing that serious expression, "Devin is going to tell your dad and then ..." I didn't wait for her to finish before standing on my feet.

I was nervous and was pacing around the small tent.

"This is bad! My dad's gonna freak out" I said rubbing my fingers together.

"But there's good news"har said.

"Which is?" I asked shooting my left eyebrow upwards

"Dean has feelings for you"

I sighed frustratedly.....

This was like the fifth time I'm hearing this.

"We are best friends and there's nothing else"

"Oh Come on,we both know that's a lie. You're pretty, smart, hardworking, strong..."

"Okay what exactly is your point?" I asked tiredly.

"Every guy has their eyes on you. Aren't you one lucky piece of card"said Har standing up and pinching my cheeks in a cute manner.

"I'm not in the mood har"I said resuming my pacing.

"Chill off girl, I obviously found a solution."

"Which is?"

"We'll leave for herb picking early and then we'll come back late so even if your dad gets worked up, you have a reason why your objected"

"Well that makes sense"

"Duh!" said harmony plopping down on the sleeping bag.

I sighed relief washing over me. Ever since I was eighteen which was two weeks ago to be exact, dad got me engaged to Devin. He wanted more power even though he was already the beta. Our pack wasn't that large. We aren't more that thirty seeing that rouges live alone. At least I found myself out of this situation.

'Your coronation is coming up soon' said melody

'Don't you mean 'our''

'Yeah its pretty much you that'll be doing the dirty work' said melody before blocking me off.

'Stupid brat' I muttered.

'I heard that' said melody before blocking me off again.

Come on blo, get some sleep"said Harmony laying down on her sleeping bag,"We have a long way to go tommorow".

Washing my face, hands and legs and after changing into a T-shirt and a pair of shorts, I laid down on the sleeping bag thinking of the future with Devin as my mate.

'I hope I never end up with him. I just want my mate and I hope fate brings us together' I thought to myself before sliding into the darkness that welcomed me........

"What else do you need?"I asked adjusting the basket in my other arm.

"Well, we have all the spices and herbs except cassia,calamus and cummin"

I groaned loudly.

"We've been walking since sun rise and had only a few berries for breakfast and I'm really hungry here"

"You're right blo but I'm even hungrier than you are"

"But you had 15 berries while I had 12"

"So?"

"So?"I asked her giving her an are you serious look"so.... I'm saying that I'm more hungrier than you are"

"Must you always argue?"

"But you started it"I said defending myself.

"Okay what ever you say Mrs Bloom dean" she said giving me a mischeavous grin.

"You did not just call me....."

"Found it!" said har as she bent to pluck as much of the cassia and calamus herb and also trying to shut me up before I start another argument.

I noticed it then brushed it off.

"One more to go" I said happily.

"Ten miles to dinner" mumbled har "unless we could stop by at the 'paradise' for some berries" I laughed at the way harmony was wriggling her eyebrows.

"What?" she asked "at least I'm trying "scoffed harmony.

"Puh-lease I can do better than that"

"Really?" har asked teasingly.

"Shut up" I said walking over to some thicket. Looking at it, I found the last herb and added it to the basket making sure to get enough.

"Now how about we go get those berries" said harmony pulling me with her.

We got to a small clearing, there was a lake and about ten blackberry bushes around.

Har and I found here when we were about eight years old.

Setting the basket down, I reached for the bush avoiding the thorns as I began to fill my basket with blackberries.

We ate and together watched the sun set.

"We better get home.Its getting late" Har said standing up. I followed suit and soon we were on our way home.

"Hmmmn everywhere's so quiet"

"Maybe everyone's gone to bed" I said before shrugging.

"Blo, you know rogues never go to bed early"

"Maybe everyone's tired"

We got to the camp site and I almost collapsed.

"Mom!!!!" Harmony screamed running forward.
