"Have you talked to him at all?" My beautiful wife interrogated me through the phone.

I ran a hand down my face, "He probably just went to visit that girl. Im sure he's fine." I groaned. I loved the woman to death, but she got on my nerves.

"What woman? You mean his private? That's illegal!" Dylan must've forgotten how we met.

"Okay, maybe not. But he should've at least told you he was going." She corrected herself and I chuckled.

"This girl, is very special, honey." I smiled at the thought of my son in love. He had never expressed such emotions for any girl before, but this one? He left in an instant for.

"I know. Our little boy is growing up too fast though." I heard Dylan sniffle.

"He's nearly 23, D." I laughed and heard my fellow commander call my name.

"I have to go. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?" I made a kissing sound and hung up. Why did females always like that?

"Sir, Wait." An older lady called from behind the office counter.

"Can I help you?" I asked with a smile.

"You have another phone call, I believe he said his name was Leo Perish." She handed me the phone and I bent over to use it.

"Le-"

"What the fuck is the matter with you dad? She is in the very best health facility. She shouldn't be leaving or traveling anytime soon. You know how badly that could affect her? She coul-"

"Catch a cold, or get an infection, the airplane could crash, I got it son. The nurse gave me the same lecture." I laughed.

"And you still gave her permission to go to Hawaii? Right now of all times too?" I heard the distress in his voice. He truly cared for this girl.

"Son, she is a soldier. She is stronger then what you see." I spoke softly, this was a rocky topic.

"Dad, She's ill. I spent the day with her, the girl can barely stand on her own. She's not ready to hop on a 9 hour flight. What if she has a seizure? Or needs immediate surgery because something goes wrong?" Leo interrogated me over the phone.

I should've raised him to be a detective.

"What if, she makes it here perfectly fine. What if, she gets to smell the ocean? Feel it? Experience Hawaiian culture? You're overthinking this, Leo. And I get why you are, but dont stop this girl from living her life because you're scared." I tried doing the same with Dylan. Years and years ago. She resented me for it. And I realized how badly I fucked up.

"Fine. But you make sure there is a doctor on standby when we land, got it?" Leo waited for my verbal agreement before hanging up.

I sighed and dialed my wife's number. She'd kill me if she knew I talked to him without telling her.

She answered on the second ring,"Did you talk to him?" She asked before I could even greet her.

"I did. He was in Oregon with Riley." I heard her sigh of relief before a long list of curses.

"Im gonna kill our son! He gave me a heart attack." Dylan was a bit cautious with Leo. I blamed her hovering and over mom-ing on her shitty parents.

"He's perfectly fine. He's actually coming back to Hawaii tomorrow with Riley." I smiled, proud of myself for handling his yelling well. I deserved a cookie - or maybe a cake for that.

"Good. Ill be there the day after then. Ill talk to you then, my love." Dylan hung up.

She was coming here?

Fuck.
