1 Chapter 1

Two figures stood upon a castle built into a mountain. The sky was filled with smog and dark clouds, the only light came from the lava which ran over the planet like water.

One of these figures stood like a giant, covered in black, making him blend in with the smog sky, he is considered more machine than man by those who have survived an encounter with him, a powerful force wielder, making anyone tremble with his presence.

Although he had an imposing figure, his opponent stood tall, looking directly into the eyes of his mask. This figure only had a hooded cape, but it wielded a red lightsaber.

Both of the figures' capes flapped violently as the hot winds threatened to blow both of them off the castle if they weren't careful.

"Who would have thought a B1 battle droid from the clone wars would last this long? And working for the Rebel Alliance no less"

The droid stood silent, calculating possibilities and all variables.

Both figures stood there upon the castle, waiting for the signal to attack.

Although the environment deafened everything, the breathing of the dark figure was apparent.

"And who would have thought that Anakin, a Jedi knight of great power would have fallen this far? Becoming a dark lord: how very childish, Skywalker."

The presence of Vader became more prominent, the castle roof began to crack under his pressure, and his lightsaber began to vibrate violently as the droid could see Vader's anger begin to erupt.

A wave of lava crashed against the castle, rising to the sky, and illuminating the castle rooftop. Some of the lava began to fall upon the adversaries like rain.

The first drop of lava to hit the rooftop initiated the start of the duel

The Droid and Vader clashed their lightsabers with ferocious speed and power.

The sheer force of the strike sent tremors through the air, sending the lava rain to splatter around them and splitting the lava wave in half.

Both Vader and the Droid entered a power struggle, exerting strength to push the other with no clear victor. The rooftop began to shatter and shake as neither gave way in their power struggle.

With the clash having no victor, they both strikes, sending each other flying back.

Once they both stopped, they immediately dashed to each other again.

They clashed once more, but this time they both began a flurry of blows.

Every strike carried the power of a tank and the speed of a starfighter.

Every clash of the lightsabers sent a deafening shockwave that cracked the rooftop and sent lava splatters into the sky.

As the fight dragged on, the size and intensity of the lava waves increased.

Vader and the Droid clashed again, entering a power struggle.

"I remember your old padawan. What did you call her again? oh right, Snips"

Vader's anger reached its peak and the sheer power of his anger was enough to stun the droid for a second, using the opportunity Vader shoved the Droid back and Force pushed it off the castle roof.

The Droid used its wrist grapple and hooked onto the roof's edge, using its rocket-powered blasters under its feet, the Droid flew back onto the roof of the castle, ready to fight again.

A giant boulder was the first thing the Droid saw, reacting fast, it used its lightsaber to cut clean through the boulder.

After cutting the boulder, the Droid saw Vader standing on the other side of the castle levitating a mass amount of the castle's roof.

"You shall be destroyed like the rest of the battle droids." Though the mask covers all expressions, Vader was still fuming but he couldn't hold back from saying something that has been itching him.

"Come, Clanker."

Vader launched the roof boulders toward the Droid.

Using its superior agility, the Droid cut through the rocks and dodged the boulders.

As the Droid got closer and the roof began to crumble little by little, Vader launched the rest of the boulders and began flipping half the roof.

The Droid stopped in his tracks because of the number of boulders heading in his direction. The Droid raised its hand and send a shockwave through the boulders, separating them wide enough for the Droid to jump through.

When the Droid went to scan Vader, he saw a massive wall falling upon him.

The Droid aimed his arm at the falling wall. A wrist rocket popped out of his arm and shot the wall, creating a big enough hole for the Droid.

Once the wall fell and the Droid was safe, Vader descended from the sky, cutting off the Droid's arm and cutting the lightsaber in half.

The roof caved in, sending both Vader and the Droid to the floor.

Vader made a good enough distance away from the caved-in roof, watching to see if the Droid made it.

After waiting for a few seconds, his visor caught a glimpse of the Droid emerging from the dust cloud.

Vader stood in his stance, ready for round 2.

The Droid popped out its thigh, revealing a gun. Old western style, the Droid quickly drew his gun and aimed at Vader.

"A slugthrower? A rudimentary weapon."

The Droid shot a round that Vader cut through with ease.

Once the bullet touch the lightsaber, it exploded.

Vader recoiled in pain and surprise.

Wasting no time, the Droid pelleted Vader with more explosive rounds. The groans of pain from Vader were a good indication.

Vader was covered in a black cloud made from the explosives.

The Droid fired a wrist rocket into the cloud.

The anticipated explosion didn't occur, almost immediately the rocket fired out of the cloud.

The Droid dodged the rocket, but the blast sent the Droid into the black cloud.

The flash of a red lightsaber sliced the Droid in half.

The two halves of the Droid bounced across the floor.

"You were a worthy adversary."

Vader disengaged his lightsaber, turning away from the Droid.

"Who said we're done."

Vader turned to the Droid in curiosity. The Droid's torso began to reconnect with the legs like a magnet.

"How interesting."

Vader reignited his lightsaber and stood in a fighting stance, ready for round 3.

Out of nowhere, the hand, and lightsaber that Vader had cut, flew through the air and reconnected to the Droids arm.

"The kyber crystal was cut in half, your lightsaber is useless."

The Droid threw away the handle and pulled out another, igniting it.

Vader and the Droid stood in the castle, ready to fight again.

The lava waves crashed against the castle, illuminating the battlefield, the sky, filled with smog, the only light from the lava.

How did a Droid from the clone wars become powerful enough to face the dark lord?
