1 Gotten a new job

My name is Emily Cole. I was adopted as an infant. My adopted parents found me in front of their home when I was an infant and took me in because they couldn't leave me at an orphanage home.

I was 17 when my dad died leaving just me ,mum and my 14 year old sister to fend for ourselves. I work in a coffee shop but got fired because I defended myself when I was harassed and now I'm at home on my bed with my laptop looking for job vacancies on the internet.

I kept on scrolling and scrolling until my eyes caught onto something. A job as a housemaid at the Roberts.

What?A job at the Roberts!They are one of the most famous people in our country. Getting a job at their place would be a miracle but still its worth a try.

I applied and immediately I got a call. I was asked some questions and asked to come to the Roberts Mansion the next day.

I am so happy. I've finally gotten a job and not just any job.A job at the Roberts. This is great news.

I went downstairs to give my mum and sister the great news. When I got down I met them watching an action movie.

What do they see in this movies?Instead of watching romance movies they watch action movies. They are just so weird.

"Mum,Sister I have great news for you"I said excitedly.

" What's that!" My mum and sister asked but their eyes where still glued to the screen.

"Guess who just got a new job"As soon as i said that the eyes that were glued to the screen faced me instantly.

"What?When?How?" My sister Lea asked

"Whoa calm down Lea. I was searching for job vacancies and I saw a vacancy at the Roberts mansion as an house help. I applied for it and immediately I got accepted and now I have a job with a pay of 3000$"

"Really a job at the Roberts mansion. That's so cool. Congratulations sis. Now we will be able to treat mum" Lea said almost crying.

With the mention of my mum I glanced at my mum's pale face. She had been diagnosed with cancer for the past two years. I have seen my mum faint a lot of times but because of lack of money we haven't been able to properly treat her but now I will be able to treat her.

"Congratulations,I'm so proud of you" my mum said to me.

"Thank you mum" I replied. "Let me go and make dinner and with that I went into the kitchen to cook dinner with very high hopes for the next day.
