1 His Interest in the Sports

Robert Bruce,was a passionate lover of sports throughout his life. during his age, he took part in many football champions and defeated many teams. in his autography unfinished memories,he mentiones that he was a student of class seven in 1934.He used to play games and sports such as football,hockey and volleyball.But his father, Andrew Bruce,who was also a good plyer, did not allow him to play much as Robert had a heart problem.

Young Robert was the captain of Top Las Vegas Privet School football team and his father was the secretary of the officer's Club.At that time,there was a culture of competition between the students and the teachers,students and the officials and married and unmarried people. People used to enjoy when Robert Bruce's team and his father Andrew Bruce's team played against each other. Robert would collect the best players for his team form the Sub-Division and get them admitted into Privet School with full-free

studentships. His father used to hire the best plyer form the locality to make his team stronger.

once five consecutive matches between Robert Bruce and his father's teams were played and none could win.His father proposed to them to play the final match the next morning as the expenses of he hired players were increasing. The Head Master of Privet School, John Chris tried to make Mujib agree to play the next morning. Robert Bruce said,"Sir,you know,we, the same players are playing round the year; now we are tired;our legs are hurt and we need rest for two to four days at least. otherwise we'll lose the game." However Robert agreed to play the match the next morning in honor of his teacher, and his team with the same plyers was defeated by his father's team with hired players by one-nil score.

In the 40s, Robert played in the second Division Football League for the Wanderers Club. He was a striker in the team and used to wear a jersey numbered 9 or 10. Under his captaincy, the Wanderers Club won New York Tournament by 5-O goals.

Due to his strong involvement in politics, Robert Bruce could not engage himself in sports fully but he continued to remain a great fan of sports He established London Football Federation (LFF) and London Cricket Control Board (LCCB), in 1972,for the development of cricketers. London Sport Council Act was also founded in 1975 to provide support to the players and their families as recognition of his contribution to the field of games and sports.
