56 Monster Rex Jyaratodus

The group still needed to mark their way as they didn't want to get lost.

Since they are jumping from one island to another they decided to mark these islands.

A big black gash of charred grass did the trick.

Not that they needed to travel that much.

Alex remembered that he had met Calydonian Boar just outside the forest.

And now right in front of him was a dark grey creature. It was tall, bigger than man, by several metres. It had fish-like fins, it was a mix between a raptor and a fish.

"...That's a Jyaratodus?" Julis whispered with wide eyes. There was disgust in her gaze. Why? Because this thing had excess mud all over its body. This thing was disgusting for someone who loves to stay clean all the time!

"Yep."

[Jyaratodus Lv2 Monster Rex]

The White Dragon Emperor even confirmed it with his HUD vision.

"So how are we going to start?" The pinkette wanted this to be over with as soon as possible.

"Range attacks, we will start with range attacks."

Her boyfriend created a rod and started to draw on the ground.

"Since we have ranged attacks we will rain hell on it. The moment it starts to focus on one of us too much one will cease attack and then the other one will increase the tempo.

In other words, we will harass it as much as possible.

If it follows the same patterns as in Monster Hunter then it will be vulnerable to both electricity and fire depending on its mud armour."

"Mud…armour?"

"It uses mud armour to disable electrical damage but if you heat the armour it will start burning its flesh."

"Oh…I see… the mud dries up and it starts hurting it." Julis realised what he meant by that.

"Yeah."

The black-haired teen summoned his bow Sacred Gear. This is a perfect opportunity for rain damage.

Jyaratodus should not be as fast as Calydonian Boar. Even then his stats were in the 300's and now he is in 999's. There is a large difference, by three times.

"Shall we begin?"

"Yeah. Let's get this over with."

"Fine by me. I will harass it as well." Albion chipped in. The Vanishing Dragon thought it was time for him to 'spread' his myth through this place as well. These little buggers will know the might of the White Dragon Emperor.

"Good, then let's start. Let's take opposite sides. This way we will deliver maximum annoyance." To his suggestion, Julis nodded as she started to run left, to circle the beast from the side.

While Alex went for the right side.

As he was running to his position he pulled the bowstring made from energy, crackling lightning energy started to gather and form into an arrow.

Since the bow is feeding from his mana it's by nature electrifying.

However, he was not done. He channelled his energy on top. Mixing and forming into an inflated arrow.

'That would do it!'

Once the charge was complete Alex released it at the Jyaratodus in the distance who was lazily floating in the water.

With a clap of thunder, the arrow smashed into the Monster Rex.

For a second the whole area brightened as the trio were able to see the bones of the beast.

There was so much voltage that it turned into something akin to an X-ray.

Yet, the beast was nowhere near dead!

*ROAR*

The Fish Wyvern roared with anger. Its roar was unique as it was similar to a dragon or a dinosaur.

It was so loud that the pair for a second needed to cover their ears.

Thankfully this time around it didn't blow up his ear drums.

The beast finished with a roar and proceeded to rush towards Alex.

But at that moment a huge ball of white flames smashed into the beast's back.

However, Jyaratodus ignored it completely and instead focused on Alex.

*Tsk*

'Here goes our plan to harass!'

With an empowered jump, the Thunder user swiftly got out of the way. Jyaratodus got out of the water and onto a small island.

It opened its mouth and released a blob of greyish chunks of mud.

"Gross! This thing looks even worse in real life!"

With a burst of thunder, Alex landed on an adjacent island and proceeded to shoot another arrow.

But, the wyvern creature spit more mud at the incoming arrow.

"...That's new…"

The Thunder user was surprised at this move. Which made sense. This thing was a living beast which wanted to eat him. So it's given that it wanted to survive just as much as he did!

Regardless it roared some more which made the White Dragon Emperor grimace.

Before it could launch at Alex Albion went for its eyes and slashed with his sharp claws.

'Hell, yes!'

From this pain, Jyaratodus started to trash around.

"Do it! It's your chance!"

Albion roared at Julis who answered back with a torrent of flaming arrows.

*WHISTLE*

*BOOM**BOOM**BOOM*

Multiple explosions followed as the Land Wyvern was pushed back several steps.

Its entire side was scorched by flames.

*ROAR*

The creature roared some more as it was blind now and tried to figure out where these attacks came from, but eventually, it gave up…

Instead.

It dashed to the side and jumped into the Swamp. Proceeded to run away.

"It's running away!?"

Albion was baffled by the actions of the beast!

"It's an animal, Albion, it can fear for its life just as much as any life."

As Alex said that he proceeded to pull his bowstring once again and charge the lightning arrow.

Sure enough, Jyaratodus swims to the middle of the swamp and proceeds to swirl and raise mud from the bottom of the swamp.

"It's building its mud armour! JULIS! Burn it!" The White Dragon Emperor shouted, and then he shot his arrow.

With a clap of thunder, it slammed into the fish monster. Which stopped for a second, and once again outlookers could see the beast's bones from the voltage.

Alex was using a massive amount of power, yet the beast was still freaking alive!

But, it got slower, and it started to rest in between catching up its breath.

The voltage has done an enormous amount of damage. The constant twitching shows that its nervous system has been damaged beyond simple burns.

A few moments later another string of flaming arrows blasted into Jyaratodus's side. Which made drop into the water on it's side.

What followed next was a blast of steam as the water was at boiling point.

Moments later Julis was flying into the middle of the swamp, looking down.

While Alex used his thunder force and proceeded to move swiftly through the islands to see the best angle.

'If this continues then the beast will survive with sheer will while we will run out of juice.'

The thunder thought to himself as he saw Julis breathing heavily. She was waiting for the beast to surface.

"ALEX! IT'S SWIMMING AWAY FROM THE SWAMP!"

The pinkette exclaimed loudly as she saw its silhouette swimming underwater.

Then with a burst of power, the beast surfaced and spit out its mud right at shocked Julis.

Her facial expression turned blue as she saw all that mud slam into her!

"Gross, gross, gross… no-no-no-no!" Before she could complain more her flaming wings disappeared, as she couldn't hold her mental focus.

The girl proceeded to fall into the swamp.

Seeing this Alex's eyes widened as something snapped inside of him.

Albion who was watching this could only smile, it morphed into a grin after.

The teen's white thunder erupted as he lunged at the Jyaratodus. The fish monster didn't have a chance to dive back into the water as Alex's bladed hand rammed right into the beast's face. Burning all of its head off.

It was so fast that the Wyvern creature didn't even understand what was going on.

Once it was killed off, Alex swiftly went over and collected his girlfriend from the water and swiftly brought her to one of the islands.

"Julis are you okay!?"

Alex somewhat panicked when he saw her falling like that!

"I-I am fine. I lost my concentration then that much mud slammed into my face." She was somewhat embarrassed while saying that.

Her boyfriend sighed in relief seeing that she was fine.

"Good, *Sigh*."

He slightly pulled back but didn't let go of her.

This only made Julis blush even more. Seeing how protective he was. Especially, since she could sense his raw emotions through the empathic link.

"I am good. But, I wouldn't mind taking a bath…"

As she said that she brushed her fingers through her dirty hair.

"Let's get away from here and find a proper place for you to wash up." Alex nodded at her and finally let her go and then stood up and looked around.

"...Since that is over I want to congratulate you on unlocking the Balance Breaker." Albion flew over and informed him.

"...What?"

"Didn't you wonder how on earth you crossed over 50 metres in an instant?"

"..."

"Your dragon blood surged. Reacting to that rage." The floating dragon said in a proud voice. He then looked at Julis.

"By the way, nice fall, that whole 'No-no-no' helped your mate considerably, he was genuinely worried and extremely angry. That Jyaratodus had no chance at all."

Julis' blush returned with force. That was not her intention! Imagine getting mud slamming from someone's mouth right into your face!

For a second the girl thought she would have a panic attack!

"...H-Hey it was not my intention! I was so gross that I nearly passed out! That's why I wanted to get this over with! This place is just gross!"

Alex once again sighed in relief. He got back on his knees, picked her up into Princess Carry and proceeded to stand up.

"...I can walk on my own. There is no need for this…" She complained for a second but didn't struggle at all.

"No need. Just relax."

He whispered to her before proceeding to travel back from where they arrived.

Alex looked at three items he just got from Jyaratodus. Aqua Sac particularly got his attention.

It's an item used to give the weapon elemental attributes. In this case, Aqua Sac gives the weapon a water attribute.

This is a nice indicator that he should start learning blacksmithing as soon as he can. Since Aqua Sac exists, other elements should be there as well.

Once he finished checking these drops he closed his eyes and focused on his Falna.

A grin appeared on his face as he felt he could level up! Not only that he learned a skill!

While it was nice to see that he can finally level up, now needs to think if he should grind the stats more or he should just level up.

For now, he decided to think about this, he should check with Julis as well. Since she delivered quite a bit of damage to that fish monster. She might have achieved lv 2 as well.

"Well, let's wait for her to finish with the bath."

He said with a sigh as he leaned against the massive tree. Behind him was the beginning of the river bank. From the looks of a portion of the river floods and creates this swampy area.
