A Bow and a Javelin

Alex opened his eyes and saw the familiar ceiling of his safe house.

Before he even got up he checked his phone and went to dungeon options.

He saw a new option appeared there.

Manual Dungeon leave [OFF][ON]

Without thinking much Alex smashed on [YES]

At that moment a notification popped on the screen.

[To leave the dungeon you have to fall asleep on your bed.]

"You have to be kidding me! So, I will have to find this place again after leaving to explore the massive wilderness!" Alex said with disbelief as he smashed the [OK].

'This means I need a new plan, I will need to mark my way, otherwise, it will be difficult to find this place again.' For a second Alex thought about it and realised that there were millions if not billions of trees in this place.

'Guess burning one or two won't going to matter…' A grin appeared on his face.

After deciding on a course of action Alex left the bed and went outside.

He saw the very first tree and quickly started to run at it, with a flip he was standing vertically on its trunk, and moments later he was already running up to the top.

Once on top, he ended up sitting on one of the large branches, then he pulled out the book and continued to read from where he left it.

Once he finished the book, he found it quite fascinating as it shows how magic works outside the regular circle magic.

It goes more towards manipulation of the magical energy.

While it didn't teach him any spells it taught him how to control his energy better.

'Right let's test something out.'

Alex quickly landed on the ground and started accessing his magical energy.

He made it flow into his hand and then left the body flowing outside.

The teen already knew how to create mana constructs, but that's where he tried to do things differently.

Instead of just pure magic, he used his element.

The thing is he can't hold pure electricity in his hands.

But, magically based one? That's a completely different thing…

While he can't throw lightning bolts like Zeus, as his power is quite weak compared to the Olympian God, he has the basics done after multiple tries.

The best part is that he doesn't get electrified, because of his Electrical Nature and Electrokinesis.

Still, he does feel the sting, where it would have ended his life if not for his skills.

That means he is not immune to electricity only very, very resistant to it…

After getting this done. which is basically, creating more ranged attacks apart from his Bow.

Alex tried getting more creative, for example trying to make a bow.

That's where the difficulty started to show itself, creating javelin from pure energy is quite easy, as electricity naturally is quite a straight element.

But, making something like a bow? That's where it started to get difficult.

Making it crescent-shaped was not too difficult. but the energy string connecting the two ends?

That's where the difficulty started to manifest, as he needed to be flexible while still maintaining a frame...

It either doesn't work or he destabilises the whole thing.

After multiple tries, he decided to add regular mana constructs…

And that helped, but another issue manifested, this won't be possible to use in battle.

It takes too much time to prepare, no PROPER enemy will give him a couple of minutes to prepare…

In the meantime, he started to exercise too, between breaks when his magic would run out, he would start training his body.

The treetop running increased his stamina to high levels, now it was time to train his body.

From push-ups to sit-ups, squats…

Still, soon enough he found that it's quite easily done, he can easily push to hundreds then to thousands…

'Heh, well let's see my progress…'

Alex closed his eyes and activated his Power of Falna

'Hmm, not bad…' Alex hummed to himself as he tried to use his magic once again, after the skill level up he found out that he could cast his javelins much faster and the bow creation time decreased.

He could use it before he engaged in combat, but not mid-fight… unless someone is giving him a speech or something similar along those lines.

'Well, time to grind some tickets!' Alex grinned with excitement as he could finally hunt some mutts down!

A Javelin created from a mix of magic and electricity slammed into the head of a horse-sized wolf.

The impact was powerful enough to make the head explode, while most of the body fried in less than a few seconds.

Before the body even collapsed it was a well-cooked husk.

'No wonder Zeus likes throwing his lightning bolts left and right, while he is a massive ball of ego, he does know how to punish in style.'

Alex raised his hand once more created another javelin, and targeted it at a cautious-looking wolf.

The Marksman skill is quite, literally amazing, any ranged weapons fall under that category.

So, bows, slingers, crossbows, guns… all of that becomes natural in his hands.

Once the javelin was ready Alex threw it at cautions-looking wolves.

His favourite spot now is just standing on a tree trunk and throwing lightning javelins at the mutts.

It was even good practice to shoot when he was standing vertically.

He was thinking of calling it Electrical Javelin but decided to stick with Lightning Javelin.

Sounds more powerful.

Funny enough now the wolves could not dodge the attacks anymore, and most of his throws were proper hits, one hit one shot, even if he missed the explosion and electricity would electrocute them.

Still, his creation of javelins has not reached the point where he could throw them casually.

It takes time to create them, and to make them 'perfect', if he uses too little energy it can disintegrate mid-flight if he uses too much it can explode before hitting the target.

*BOOM*

*CRACK*

"And that makes the fifth pack in just… three days?"

"Much better than before… *sigh* counting while fighting these mutts is annoying, I should bring a clock into this place." With another sigh, Alex dropped to the ground, by this point walking sideways and doing stunts that would make even Olympic gymnasts proud became like second nature.

He looked around for a second before finding a tree that would suit him the best as a waypoint.

Alex then started channelling magic into his hand, building up a construct. A several metre long sword.

Then he channelled electricity through it, condensing as much as possible.

Creating a makeshift lightsaber… similar to the ones from Julis Earth.

Once it was ready, Alex then tried to stab the sword into the massive pine tree.

The keyword was tried, as he was only able to push a few inches beyond the bark of the tree.

A few seconds later his construct collapsed with an explosion.

And Alex was sent flying back a few metres before got his footing back.

"And here goes my t-shirt…"

He spoke loudly with an annoyed voice.

"Here goes my grand idea of turning trees into massive pyres…" A tongue click escaped from his lips as he looked around.

His idea was simple, to put fire on a tree, igniting a tree is easy. But, it can spread quite easily if not kept in check.

So, he decided to cut trees around the selected one, turns out it's a massive bust, as he doesn't have enough juice to cut trees of this magnitude.

'Or, this thing was made strong on purpose…'

'Well, who cares, cutting them down is a go. So, I will just cut the branches off, and will turn it into a large stick.' For a second he grinned then realised something, he can turn them into massive signs!

'Yeah, that will be even better than just burning them off!'

With new invigorated power he rushed back up on the tree branch and started to construct a new Hand sword.

"Let's try this again!" Once again Alex stabbed his newly constructed hand sword.

As before it passed the bark quite easily, but then resistance started, while it was not as hard as the tree trunk, he still had a hard time cutting the branch above him.

'Ok, this is going to take much longer than I thought…'

Sometime later Alex ran out of magic and started to feel a splitting headache. So, he stopped cutting.

A sigh escaped from his lips as he looked at his work.

It was just around ⅓ cut, yet he was using his max power to do it!

"Well, I can think of something once my brain decides to work again…" Alex dropped into a sitting position and started to laze around until his migraine went away.

Instead of just doing nothing he pulled out his phone.

He checked out the inventory and noticed the amount of stuff he got from hunting the wolf packs.

"Finally I can fix that ugly scar…* Alex mumbled to himself as he went over and exchanged 100 common tickets for 1 Scar-minator ticket.

Once he did that he remembered that Scar-minator is a separate App!

"Well, Well did I find a bug of sorts in this fancy system of R.O.B's?" Alex chuckled to himself while saying that.

Or, it's another one of his things done on purpose?

Since he can't fix his scar inside THE dungeon, he will instead roll the wheel a couple of times…

A few phone taps later the lottery wheel turned green, soon enough the wheel was spinning.

…

…

…

[You Get: Sacred Gear Staring Blue]

*Whistle*

"Well, well, what's this…"

Alex summoned the card and saw the picture on it, it was a blue bow shooting blue energy arrows…

"Heh, interesting…"

He smirked for a second before focusing on it, seconds later the card shattered and entered his body.

Alex didn't feel any changes, instead, he closed his eyes and activated his Falna.

'Right, so another stat appeared, as expected, and it has mastery too…' Alex hummed after seeing the new stat.

Then he saw the main ones...

'As expected, nothing beats exploration and grind when one wants to increase his or her stats…'

After checking the stats, it was time to call forth the new gear.

Focusing on the concept of power trying to imagine it, and pulling it.

The next moment he felt some sort of click in his mind, and there was a reaction…

A blue bow manifested in Alex's left hand.

'Well, well, this feels nice!' He inspected the nice-looking bow.

It was a massive improvement over the Yew Longbow he had.

A short inspection later he pulled the bowstring, and that moment he felt a drain on his vitality, as a blue energy arrow manifested.

He targeted a tree in the distance and released the arrow.

The sound the bow made reminded him of the sound Quincy bows from Bleach.

Unlike regular arrows, this travelled much faster and much more destructively!

Most of the bark was destroyed in the impacted area, and there were some scorched marks too, nothing like his Electrical power. But, it was something…

Still, the arrow remained for some time before it disappeared.

"A nice replacement for my original bow." Alex hummed with satisfaction before trying to make Staring Blue disappear.

"Oh. So, that's how it works…" He marvelled at the ingenuity of the Biblical God's creation.
