Chapter Eight

Since two days I sat in this cell without any food or water. My throat was dry and felt like a desert. I haven't seen any guard during these two days. I was left all alone in this tiny cold cell. I was doing some pushups on the hard floor and my arms began to tremble. I was exhausted but I should be fit. Shifting needs a lot of energy and strength. Only two more I said to myself. As I did the last pushup I laid down on my back. Sweat flowed out of my pores on my forehead and neck. My nude body slowly adapted to the cold in this cell and I wasn't shaking as much as before.

My back was aching from the cold ground coming in contact with my wounds. I stood up and went over to a corner of the room and leaned against the hard wall. With my slim fingers I ran over the mark the guard has left me with. I shivered as I touched it remembering the things he did to me. Remembering the pain he has caused me. I heard someone stomping in the hallway. I hoped that it was a guard bringing me some food or water. The sounds came nearer but then began turning quieter. He passed my cell. I sighed out. I don't know how long I can survive living in these circumstances.

Screams echoed through the hallway. I flinched at the sound. It was a female screaming. The screaming never stopped, she was screaming louder and louder.

A loud knocking sound startled me. I looked towards the iron door and it opened. A tall female centaur was looking straight at me. She entered the room. Chains were dangling from here hand and I quickly tried to scurry away from her. She grabbed both my arms and chained them. The centaur dragged me out of the room. The screams were even louder in the hallway.

She pushed me towards the room were the female was screaming. We halted in front of a iron door. I remembered the door. It haunted me in my dreams since I was imprisoned. It had blood scattered across the handle. The female centaur opened the door and pushed me inside of the room.

A woman was sitting on the wooden chair which was placed in the middle of the room. Her red hair was covering her face and she screamed each time the guard punched her abdomen. Her head shot up and blood shot eyes stared into mine. "Ophelia!", I screamed and squirmed in the hold of the female centaur. I tried to break free and help my friend out but the female centaur didn't even budge. "Please don't hurt her!", I cried out. Tears prickled at the corner of my eyes. The guard that was torturing Ophelia stopped punching her and slowly stood up. Ophelia began breathing heavily and her head slumped down.

He turned around and my heart stopped beating for a second. The black eyes that haunted me every night stared at me. I began wriggling around, wanting to run away and save myself from this monster. He flashed a smile at me and his yellowish teeth nearly made me gag. He trotted towards me, his hooves clacking against the ground. The female centaur released her hands from my arms and disappeared into the hallway. Leaving me, Ophelia and the centaur behind. He was right in front of me. I felt his warm breath on my face. His rough fingers glided across my arm towards the mark he created. He grunted satisfied.

Ophelia began murmuring some words under her breath. She talked in her native language. The guard quickly went over to her and slapped her across the face. Leaving a red mark on her cheek. Furious she looked into his eyes. Anger swirled in them. "Don't talk in your language bitch", he angrily said. She furrowed her brows and spit on his hoove. He stared at his hoove, where the spit landed. His whole body began to tremble and I knew that he would hurt her. I ran in between them and he raised his fist, punching me straight into the jaw. Cracking noises filled the room and I screamed. My jaw throbbed and I fell onto the ground holding my jaw with my hands. "Stupid fairy", the centaur said.

I coughed some blood out and wiped it away with my arm. Ophelia worriedly looked at me and then at the centaur. He shoved me out of the way. Ophelia's fierce was nowhere seen anymore. She was frightened. He untied her and grabbed her by her hair lifting her up. Her legs dangled and she squirmed in his hold. I tried to stand up and help her but my body wouldn't let me. I laid there regaining my energy. He threw Ophelia back on the ground and walked over to the wall where all his instruments were hanging.

Ophelia turned around, her face full of pain. She looked at me and stretched her fingers to me. They grazed my forearm. I looked into her white eyes and saw that she was on the verge of crying. She held back her tears not wanting the centaur to get them.

The clacking sound startled us both. The centaur stood there with a dull knife. He knelt down and grabbed Ophelia by her throat. "Now talk", he threatened her. Confused I looked at Ophelia not knowing what he meant. He turned his head towards me and smirked. "You are the reason why she is being tortured, fairy", he continued. I shook my head. "She doesn't has anything to do with me", I replied to his sentence. He laughed out like a maniac and started into my soul making me feel uncomfortable. "She is in pain because of you." He took the dull knife and placed it on her thigh. "Should I amputate her leg or her arm", he asked with a stern face. Ophelia turned white as she felt the knife on her thigh. With a pleading face she looked at me. I remained quiet. The centaur cocked his head and bit on his crusty lip. He then began putting pressure on the thigh and Ophelia winced as the dull blade cut through her skin. "Stop!", I shouted and he smiled triumphantly.

He put the knife into the side pocket of his chest armour and tied Ophelia's legs and arms. He then turned back to me and smiled. My nose scrunched as I looked at him. "Why are you in Idzor", he asked me. I looked into his dark eyes. "I fled from my kingdom", I replied. My nose twitched and I hoped that he didn't see it. "You are lying." I gulped. My heart raced inside of my chest. He grabbed Ophelia by her neck and began squeezing it. She grabbed his hands and tried to get them off but his hold was to strong. Quickly I stood up and rushed towards them pulling him away from her. He snickered and released her throat. She quickly grabbed her throat with her hands and gasped loudly. His black eyes darted to me an he grinned evily. "Now tell me fairy. Tell me the truth", he spitted out.

My eyes wandered across the room, searching for something to hurt him with. I couldn't run towards the weapons. He would be way faster than me. Then I got an idea. I walked towards the centaur placing my hands on his broad chest. His brown fur was ruffled and sticky. I stared into his black eyes. "You want to know the truth", I quietly said. He nodded his head and I closed the gap between us. My body was pressed against his and I felt his breath quicken. That's the power women have over men.

I put my hand on his neck and pulled him down to my eye level. My mouth was now besides his ear. My other hand gently travelled across his body going to the place where his pocket was. "Never understimate a fairy", I gritted out and quickly took the knife.

I pushed myself off of him and stabbed him into his right front leg. He yelled out and before he would attack me I briskly grabbed the wooden stool and slammed it across his face knocking him out cold. I breathed heavily and let the stool glide out of my fingers, letting it fall onto the stony ground. Ophelia looked bewildered and scrambled herself up. She quickly went over to the centaur and measured his pulse. She then looked at me and nodded.

I grabbed her by her arm and we stormed out of the room. Two naked females running around the building not knowing where we were. We hurried through different hallways and Ophelia spotted a stairway and navigated me through the halls. She had a way better eye sight than me in the dark. We rushed the stairs up and opened the door at the end of it. As we opened the door I felt the fresh breeze touching my bare body. I let out a relieved sight but Ophelia tugged at me arm. We weren't safe yet.

We ran towards the forest and behind us we heard a loud whistle sound. The guards were informed that we escaped. We entered the forest and jumped over logs and dodged trees. The earth vibrated beneath our feet. They knew where we were heading, they chased us. I used all of my energy and shifted into monkey. Ophelia looked mixed up at me. I grabbed her by her waist and she understood what I was about to do. She snaked her arms and legs around me and I began climbing up the trees. Centaurs can't climb. My body was on the verge of giving up. As soon as we reached a stable branch I shifted back and slumped onto the tree, gasping for air. Ophelia patted my back and pushed my dark brown strands behind my ears. She then shushed me and I heard the cenaurs gallop past our tree.

We both let out a relieved sigh and leaned against the tree trunk. In the distance we heard the hooves coming in contact with the ground and we both perked up. An arrow pierced through the air and hit inbetween the trunk were mine and Ophelia's head were. My eyes widened and I ducked down. They found us.
