Rescue ?

"Can you explain to me exactly what happened?" asked Zoe.

"Your mom called me, she told me one of her dad's henchmen found her," Joe replied.

We get close to our house, Joe presses a button on the car, and then we go through a backyard driveway. When I got out of the car I saw that the car was invisible, my mother appears with some suitcases.

"How did this happen ?" asked Zoe.

"Daughter, I don't know. He's been in front of our house all day" replied the mother.

"At least he only has one person, puts the bags in the van and in the car" Joe said handing the car keys to my mother.

Suddenly an alarm goes off, Joe turns on one of the lair's giant screens and sees some cars approaching. A man and a woman in suits get out in one of the cars, the man starts to approach the house when he ends up crashing into a force field.

"Who is that guy?" asked Zoe.

"It's your father" replied the mother.

" What he is doing '?" asked Joe seeing the screen.

Zoe's dad just pulls out a cell phone and starts calling someone, the house phone starts ringing and Susan answers the phone.

"I just want to talk, please let me in" said Zoe's father.

"How did you find me ?' asked Susan.

"One of my henchmen saw you helping to collect food for the victims of the city's destruction 2 weeks ago" replied Zoe's father.

"Why didn't our neighbors call the police?" asked Zoe, carrying a suitcase to the van.

"Your dad is a smart person, he definitely got rid of the neighbors," Joe replied.

"I want to talk to you, I didn't come here to start a fight" said Zoe's father turning off his cell phone and facing the barrier.

"Joe, can you just let him through the barrier?" asked the mother.

"Yes" replied Joe.

"Then let him pass" said the mother going up to the living room.

Zoe's father walked in with the woman, Joe said the woman was his security. Zoe hid with Joe in the lair, and they watched through a camera that was in the room.

"So you were hiding here" says Zoe's father looking around the room.

"What you want?" asked the mother.

"I didn't want to bother you, but because of some events I need your help," said Zoe's father.

"What ?" said Zoe, Joe and Susan.

"I better explain, my name is Emma I am the current wife of your ex husband and we need your help to protect our 2 children" Emma said.

"Explain this situation to me?" asked Zoe appearing through a secret door in the kitchen.

"Who are you?" asked Zoe's father and Emma.

"Daughter," Susan said.

"Daughter ?" yelled Zoe's father and Emma.

"Did you remarry, Zoe?" asked Zoe's father.

"It's Susan now," Susan replied.

"Wait, was your old name Zoe?" asked Zoe.

"Yes daughter" replied the mother.

"Who is her father?" asked Zoe's father.

"Look, I don't have to answer that, we're getting off the topic," Susan said.

"Right, our 2 kids are being targeted by an enemy and we want you to hide them here," Emma said.

"Why do you need us, do you have henchmen and a well-protected house?" asked Susan.

"The assassins are quite skilled, we need a place where they have no knowledge" replied Zoe's father.

"But you guys brought goons in cars to our house, it wouldn't be a safer place now," Zoe said.

"Yes, but the thugs think we're visiting some trading partner. No one but us knows you're alive, we promise we won't bother you anymore after this is over," Emma said.

"I can think?" asked Susan.

"Please we need an answer in 2 hours, then we'll be leaving for our city" said Zoe's father.

"I swear they're only staying for a little while," Emma said.
